She had wandered back to the area where she had first met the little unicorn colt named Meshach, who had laughed at her when she had fallen into the water. She recalled, her mouth twitching now, that she hadn't liked him laughing at her very much, and now she stood staring into the familiar clear water, reminiscing about her little adventure.
She couldn't help but smile at how Meshach had rescued her (albeit... in a painful way) from that bear that probably still hunted around this area now. Shaking her head, she dipped her head so she could take a drink from the tasty liquid, her ear twitching from time to time as she listened to the sounds around her. It was peaceful here...
...but not for long, she would soon learn.

Meshach liked to wander around the forest, it was great. He was dark and the forest hid him well when the sun couldn't break through the leaves on the trees. He was slowly heading back to the lovely clear water to refresh his throat however it seemed someone else had beaten him to it.
It took him a while to recognize the female that he had first met here but she was unmistakable. He raised his head and walked forward pretending to be something of gentleman but Meshach would never be one of them.
"My you have grown." His voice was a lot deeper now and he was generally allot larger then he had been but otherwise he hadn't changed and she would find that out soon enough!

She was startled out of her peaceful stupor when a deep, male voice sounded behind her. Thinking it was probably Dustin, she smiled and turned around... only to have her smile disappear and her jaw drop. Snapping her mouth shut, she stared. He was bigger, obviously, and very much an adult now, but he was still unmistakable.
Meshach.
Who else could it be? After all, she knew only one unicorn, and that was Meshach... who also happened to be the most annoying stallion she had the unlucky chance to meet. She could put up with him--Epona knows how much patience she learned--but even Meshach got under her feathers. She allowed a smirk to appear, finally, as she gave him a once over. "...So have you," she said, in almost a lazy tone.

Meshach flicked his tail, he had been planning to annoy a female with this great plan of his. He had been hoping to find someone who it would work on perfectly and it seemed fate brought him to the one girl he knew would be the most annoyed with his declaration.
"You know, i have been thinking about you a lot since our last meeting. You seemed to have captured my heart." He spoke in a very natural serious voice. He needed this to sound real and to sound true after all he was an adult now, it was possible to love! Though loving her would be something he was sure would be impossible. She was yucky, still!

Somehow, she knew this meeting with Meshach was going to be very bad. She just had this kind of feeling of doom, and Blackfire began to slowly back up into the water, her eyes going wide, her lazy attitude disappearing into one of horror. Meshach was annoying, but his next words really shook her.
She had a very, very, bad feeling...
"Uh, Meshach, don't you think that's going a bit too far... and fast?" she said nervously, not like where this conversation was heading. Sure, she was okay with Meshach because he rescued her from that bear a while back when they were still foals, but this... this declaration was something that... well, just whoa. Back up, rewind, hold on a minute!
She shook her head, too shocked to really say anything else. The first words before "my, you have grown" weren't exactly the ones she was expecting! ...Thus, Blackfire became very, very, annoyed. "Meshach..." she said, irritation laced in her tone.

Meshach just looked at her, "Your denying me my feelings? I mean if feelings can be slowed then please tell me how to do it. I have tried I can honestly tell you that." He was sounding somewhat convincing and a little desperate as if he had been trying his hardest to stop these feelings he didn't have in the first place.
"Tell me then miss, how do I stop loving you?"

She gaped at him. Was he serious!? She couldn't believe it! Meshach and serious didn't even belong in the same sentence! This was ridiculous! She tripped on her back feet, and, like before, fell quite ungracefully into the water. "I-I... well, I never said you could stop your feelings or slow them down, but... you've got to be joking!" She finally screeched.
"We met only once--that was when we were foals! Meshach, if this is another ploy to annoy me it's working you dolt! I don't like this at all!" she glowered at him, ignoring how her braids had come undone when she'd fallen into the water and now her her red and blue hair came around her in waves as she stood up to get out of the water and away from Meshach.
Was he crazy!? "What is wrong with you? What happened to that annoying dork that laughed at me when I fell into the water!?" she spat, not trusting him as she kept her distance. Meshach being serious was the sign of her doom, she knew it--her doom, and she wasn't about to let him try and kill her with this nonsense he just spouted.

"You mean you haven't had others say the same thing? Blackfire you are captivating." He didn't look at her, his golden eyes looking at his wonderful reflection in the water. He loved the way he looked now, his horn was just so sharp!
Yes this seemed to be going well, not all was she annoyed she seemed somewhat freaked out and that was the best bit! It was just so funny. He would laugh so much later but for now he had to be serious after all if he slipped up she would realise he was indeed faking all of it.

She turned to face him and smirked when she saw he wasn't looking at her and was instead staring into the water when he said those words. "Yeah, and if I'm so captivating you wouldn't be staring to the water. I'm not even near it, you jerk," she snapped at him, swishing her loose, wet wavy locks and shaking her head in disapproval.
And yes, she was quite freaked out and there was nothing she could do about it except believe he was doing it to blackmail her or something later on. So, she couldn't give in to his antics; there was no way he was being serious, and of all the females he chose to do this to, it just had to be her. Why? Why in Epona's name did it have to be her of all the mares he probably knew? Argh...
This made her grow cold inside; she didn't like being messed with when it came to her feelings, and Meshach was hurting her in a way she didn't want to be hurt. "You're a really big jerk to do this, and why did you choose me? You could have done this to any other mare, you know, and I'm sure they'd have fallen for it much better." She snorted, still obviously freaked out by it more than annoying, but it seemed she had equalized the feelings.

"I can't stare at you all the time now can I? I wouldn't want to freak you out by staring at you non-stop and the water is also beautiful so it will do until I look at you again." As he spoke he turned and looked at her, a sweetish smile on his face. He wasn't sure how effective it would be as he had never smiled like this before in his life.
He was going to break her, he hadn't a clue how long it would take to do so but he could pretend to love her for a long time yet. Oh it was fun being annoying, so much fun!
"Well I am sorry that any other mare didn't capture my heart the same way you did!" He started to make himself sound a little angry as he was sure if he was really in love with her he would be getting angry at that comment. "If you don't like it then turn into someone else, I can't help my feelings!" He snorted to finish it and give an effect. He was having fun and as he had always said, females were the most stupid creatures ever.

"This is ludicrous," she finally snapped at him, recovering--finally--from her shock and freak outs. He had a point, not that she cared, and it was at this point, she decided, she should start leaving. "Well, enjoy the water, then, Meshach--I don't have time to stand around here being made fun of or being mocked," she continued.
She was angry; angry Meshach had chosen her as his 'love'--whether he wanted to or not--and angry it felt like he was messing around with her feelings. She needed to escape before something major and bad would happen... she knew the unicorn underestimated females, and she (and his sister) were probably on top of the list.
She had turned to leave when his last words made her frown. "If I could turn into someone else, it would be a blessing," she stated emotionlessly. "Goodbye, Meshach," she finished firmly, and turned to start walking away. She wanted to go down to the beach beyond the forest, and she couldn't very well fly there--her wings were still somewhat heavy with water. Blackfire began to slowly leave the area as she tried to block out Meshach from her mind.

Meshach didn't like her going in fact that was the worst thing she could do but he could always find her again later if need be.
"Oh and you think I like loving someone as horrible as yourself." He shouted at her in an angry tone and turned away from her, not going anywhere. He breathed heavily and made it sound as if he was really upset. If he didn't look at her things would be fine. Right now he felt like laughing his head off which he probably would if he looked at her. He didn't to collect himself if this was going to work.

She fought with herself to ignore the stallion behind her and not turn back. No, she didn't want to give him the benefit of the doubt by turning around and trying to give him comfort. She had to stay strong... unfortunately, a nagging little voice in the back of her mind was telling her she owed him something for saving her life. She sighed. Guilt-trip, guilt-trip... She stopped and turned around, silently knowing she was going to really regret doing this. "Look, Meshach... I owe you for saving my life. I haven't paid you back yet..." she looked towards the ground, trying, hoping, she didn't sound like an idiot, "...so, I'd like to do that now. Only, I don't know exactly what you'd like me to do." She refrained from saying "anything to help you out" because she worried Meshach would do something twisted and then she would have to worry about that, and his feelings... She mentally flinched at the situation she was in.

Her words hit his ears and he suddenly looked up. He still had his back to her but he was in shock from the words coming out of his mouth. What exactly was he suppose to ask from her?
After a lot of quick thinking and it had to be quick he came up with a few ideas. Some would have been pleasurable but he wasn't that kind of guy, annoying yes, harsh yes, that, no.
"I can't ask you to love me, so what is it you are thinking?" He continued to keep his back to her just because the utter look of confusion on his face might not have looked too good.

She gave him an odd look--though he couldn't see it since his back was still turned to her; obviously, he was still upset--and she sighed. "Well, you can't ask because..." She paused as she reflected about what she was going to say. She didn't want to acknowledge it; she had suppressed the idea and pure thought of it to the very recesses of her mind. It was why she had been so shocked at Meshach's earlier confession; he seemed to be able to say it so easily, with feeling, and she... she couldn't even admit it to herself. Blue eyes stared at the dark, yellow-striped stallion for what seemed another long moment, and then she looked away. What was she doing? "I'm not sure myself... whatever you want, Meshach," she added with a hint of caution in her voice. Blackfire wasn't sure she could love anyone exactly... still, though, Meshach had saved her life back then, and well... she owed him that much and more. The only problem? She was sure it was going to kill her and she would regret this decision for the rest of her life.
