at this point there has been a series and a movie both of which are very well done. there has even been a live musical of this anime.

its pretty hard to explain the story but it falls under the category of a yuri. however its not one of those really perverted kinds of yuris where its nothing but what would be considered hentai. it also falls under the catagories of romance drama fantasy and even has a couple shonen aspects (mostly in sword duels).
the story is about a girl named Utena Tenjou. at the school she atends she witnesses another female student named Anthy Himemia being abused by a male student. Utena stands up to defend Anthy and engages in a sword duel. Utena wins the duel and the prize that come with it (Anthy). Anthy is what is known as the rose bride and she is in a sense engaged to whoever wins her through a duel. Utena is appalled by the very idea and wants nothing to do with the whole rose bride and engagement idea. but eventually Utena develops feelings of her own for Anthy. and Anthy for Utena.

Most, if not all the animes mentioned in this forum, are worth looking into. The question remains, how much time does one human have to find all this anime, and watch it? ninja
