Soo's first night away from the pride as a young adult had been everything but a joy. She had gotten lost, tripped over and had angered a dog, today couldn’t have been more upsetting. Oh, wait, there came the rain. She felt so broken.
With a soft mew the gray lioness moved herself to rest beside a patch of prickly bushes that lay just along the outer border of the pride lands. She wanted to keep dry but knew that wouldn’t happen tonight.
Her eyes narrowed... though that didn’t change her sight any. She had such poor eyesight after all, everything just seemed like a fuzzy blur now though, thanks to the rain and darkness that moved in and settled beside her. Boy did she feel alone.
Her luck sucked. Always.

It has been a while since he had left Ewan's side after agreeing to go their separate ways. He had no idea where he was going, he didn't think that the two had gone this far away from his home. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready to go back there, not yet, not after running away from Usufii's training. Accusing the wolf of being a horrid mutt of a teacher. However, he did learn the ability that he was being taught. So much that did him as he soon found out that his powers had gone dormant. It seemed none of his abilities as a seer didn't work anymore. He was content at first, then worried, and then just tried to forget about it.
Dumu walked along slowly the dirt path that he and his mother followed all the time when he was young. He was back home, but not back home home. Athrun and Azra were somewhere, but he had forgotten where the den was, the precise location of it. He vaguely remembered most things about his family.
He came to a cross road. He knew one road led off to somewhere he did not know, but this other road was familiar as it was the one he took to get home whenever he was late or got lost.
He sat down there.
"Where to go now..." he murmured. "Wish Lazy Butt was here..."

“Who...”
Soo’s ears perked up some as the scent of another passed her nose. She was almost in tears! She wanted for someone to find her so badly and didn’t even care who! She wanted to be freed from this lack of knowing…
Moving herself to stand the light-eyed lioness called out softly.
“Who’s there?”

A voice. A scent. His ears perked up as his eyes glanced around to find the approaching female. His eyes grew wide before relaxing as he recalled the image before him. It was a few cycles ago, maybe more, but he knew who this lioness was, in fact, he thought about her a few times when coming back home.
"Zoo? Is that beautiful lioness you?" he chuckled as he raised to his feet to approach. She was older now, much older than when they first met. She was taller than him, then again who wasn't. She still had those same spots from her cub years where usually cubs lose them as they grow. It was interesting to see someone he saw his own age to be such a wonder before him. He has not seem many females since he left home with Ewan, except for Prey Beasts but that was the close he got to one after running away. "It's me... Dumu."
He still held faint memories about her past from when they touched. He nuzzled her softly to let her know his presence was real. Actually, it was more for him. He just could not believe that there was a female before him. He knew he was one for both genders, males and females, something that Ewan and he shared. But being with Ewan, he thought about going just one way...
"I haven't seen you in ages."

“Dumu!”
Pure cries of joy slipped her maw as she quickly fell into his nuzzle and purred deeply. Her eyes closed as she took in his kind words and soft welcoming embrace. Oh how she missed him! He was truly the first cub to have made friends with her when she needed one the most and he had left the best and most remember impression too. She wouldn’t ever be able to forget his words and touch.
“I am so very happy to see you!”
She bursted out with a soft mew, licking at his forehead as she backed away and gazed at him. Her glazed over eyes seemed to brightly dance before him, she was so very pleased. He had grown a lot too after all.
“But, what are you doing out here in the rain? It’s dark and late, and you’re all alone!”
She didn’t want him to get hurt.
"Yes, it has been a very long time!"

He chuckled as she nuzzled against him. He welcomed her touch, wanting it after so long without a touch of a female. It was gentle and soft, smooth, he took the time to slide paw up her neck. A sort of hug before letting her go as she moved away from him.
"Same here, I have not seen you in cycles! I mean, look at you!" his voice was full of enthusiasm as he bounced around her as he took her entire being in his mind. She was gorgeous. He smiled and walked before her again.
"The rain... heh, being out in the open with him for so long, I got used to it," he replied as the dark red male looked up into the sky. The wet drops sunk deep to the skin, but he could careless. Even more now that Soo was here. "It's only dark as it is late. Besides, who do you take me for? You don't think I can take care of myself? A grown male?" he chuckled jokingly as he nudged her. "I could ask you the same question. What are you doing out here, Zoo? Your eyes weren't too good when we first met, and I could only imagine them now."

She gave him another soft smile before speaking.
“My eyes do the job they were given, even if it’s a poor job”
She didn’t quite mind her eyesight anymore, in fact she had grown use to it after all of this time. She was fine.
“Oh Dumu, I am on a quest you see.. and I can not return home until I complete it.”
Her eyes closed as she smiled at him and purred still, moving to nuzzle him against his chest. She did miss him… it was so good to be beside him again. He always made her feel safe. She didn’t ask about this.. “him” he spoke of, she didn’t want to step on any toes or open a fresh wound.

"Poor eyes... just as poor as ever and you are on a quest no less! Well, you seem to get yourself into some tight situations that pushes yourself, don't you," he chuckled. He came to her side and looked at her in the eyes.
"Then let me come with you. You can't see too well, so I will be your eyes. Will that be alright?"
He had no idea what this quest was, but he had nothing better to do now that Ewan was gone now. He had to find something to fill in the void that he left in his heart, he had to fill it up. But if he filled it up, would that just prove that it, their relationship, was really was a phrase? He did not know what to do... he just needed to get away and think about something other than him.
"What is this quest that you are doing? Do you have to do it?"

She wouldn’t fight him any, his company was worth it to her. She was happy if he wanted to tag along and aid her on her journey.
“It’s something everyone does where I live, Dumu... It’s to like, find myself, who I really am now.”
She, really... had no idea about what she was to learn from all of this but she wanted badly to do it, she wanted to be a true adult.
“I don’t want to keep you from anything, Dumu, but if you'd like--I’d be more then glad to have to have you come with me. Two heads are better than one!”

Dumu nodded.
"A quest to find the real you, the person behind the face, the name, the appearance. Sounds interesting, I am sure I could help somehow," he smiled and hope her vision could not see him. What would he do if she asked about his abilities as a seer? To see a way to go to figure out where to go for this quest.
He had his powers gone dormant for a while now. He would be useless. He is just a normal lion.
Pushing the thoughts aside, "So, it's raining... we should take shelter before we start off, shouldn't we?"

“I am a bit tired.”
She admitted with a soft yawn. She was so cold too; the rain had completely soaked her fur.
“But where would we rest? It’s not a wise idea to sleep out in the open like this, you know.”
She warned softly and moved herself to stand beside him. She had long forgotten the gift he had, she never really thought of it after they had run into each other on that day. Soo blocked it out of her mind for the longest time.

Dumu nudged her as he saw the perfect place. It was a burrow not too far away, perhaps it was abandoned. He nudged her again. "Shhh..." he silenced as his eyes focused on the burrow. He carefully moved, stalking toward the shelter, letting the rain hit him, sliding down his sides. He snarled as he lept on inside.
Silence but the pitter-patter of the rain.
Dumu's head popped out and grinned.
"Come on in, Soo, it's empty."
The dark red male moved around lightly, letting his eyes get used to the dark. There was no one here, he was lucky. And if anyone decided to return, he, or she, would likely run away. Dumu plopped himself down, laying against the back wall, waiting for his new travelling companion to come in.

Soo’s eyes shifted as she felt him move away from her, even if it was only for a moment she felt the chilling thought of loneness pass over her. A soft mew passed her muzzle as she slowly followed in after him, keeping close to his heels as she entered the opening with him.
It didn’t take long for her eyes to adjust to the darkness though; she was so very use to it as it was with her poor eyes.
“Dumu, how did you know about this place?”
She questioned before moving herself to sit beside him.

Dumu looked up at her with a curious look. He took a glance around and looked back at her with a smile.
"I didn't. I just saw it and went in. We needed shelter, could not have us sleep out in the open rain," he pawed at her.
"Come on, lay down. You should rest a little."
Soo was probably the only female friend he had, the only females he knew were Fay, his aunt, and his mother. He could not recall any other ones. Soo was the only one around his age and he liked that about her. He could relate. The dark red male stretched out where he was and yawning loudly before curling up a bit.

“Alright.”
She blushed and slowly moved herself to rest beside her long lost friend. For a while she held herself distant from him but she soon found herself warming up to him. She nuzzled her forehead along his shoulder and spoke.
“Dumu, thank you again for joining me. It’s so good to have you close to me again... it’s been so long.”
She was truly happy to be with him again. Dumu was her first real friend after all.
“I’m not so cold anymore..”
