Okay~ Today I was standing outside trying to get a tan. And here are your results. [I spent 4+ hours on this xD] Wearing a hat you still get a tan just a little slower I think. Wearing a parasol has been proven with the use of my mule that it does not give you a tan. Each test held two hours. There you go guys.

~ ~ ~ Oh yah, that's another thing you need to know about tans... Tans go away if you visit a town set forward in time. I don't know the particular amount forward, but I'm assuming "twenty-four hours." ~ ~ ~

Wow. All of this information is really helpful. But what time of day did you do these tests? I believe there are certain times in the day when you get tanned better than other times, and that would make a difference.

~ ~ ~ I'm also led to believe that the weather affects the tanning system, as well. Whether or not it's cloudy could result in a tan or not. ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ It has to be a reasonable amount of time, I think. This has yet to be confirmed, but I believe that the tan would start to 'fade' at either 00.00 or 06.00 of the next day. Likely 06.00. Also, this is a seasonal thing, you can't get a tan in the winter, so it's obviously got a window of activity. Weeks? Summer in the game begins in June, yes? Then lasts through August. Though the tanning does not occur until mid-July and it seems (to my character) to last until mid-August. Wish I could find that AC:WW full calendar... thing... o.o ~ ~ ~
