So, I was thinking of writing something about these swedish people when I realised that I do not know where to locate them. Ok, they did death in the past, but that was a while ago... I was thinking of Other music, but they do metal... Then progressive came to my mind... but this is not really progressive metal... Power? Maybe... although it does not quite fit either...
So, where do you put this operatic band? Do we have to create a new subforum for these unique bands?

I'd say in Death.

They were death but now they're Symphonic Heavy metal. I'll put them in the Heavy forum since they have more Heavy metal material.

You think? I mean, about the more heavy metal material... And, well, I would not say they do symphonic heavy either... They are symphonic now for sure, but heavy... hmm... yeah, i suppose they have at least 1 song considered heavy in each of the latest albums, and they sound kinda heavy live, but... don't really know. I guess that was the point of the poll. Let's see what people say anyway =)

well the threads are opened for the bands, taking what they play now and what they used to play before. So I think they fit in GOTHIC metal and also in DEATH metal.

Heavy/Power is not getting many points confused

I would say they fit mostly into the power metal forum now, even though they were death in the beginning. Nowadays they have mostly symphonic elements, power metal riffs and lyrical themes and operatic singers... well mostly anyways.

The excesive use of gothic scales, violin tuning and choral arrangements in Vovin, Deggial and Secret of the runes.

After taking another look, your right. They do have a lot of Gothic influences.....they hide them very well, without listening for it I didn't notice. neutral

Should I make a symphonic Metal sub forum, would that solve some problems?

Dunno, I can't actually think of many symphonic metal bands which cannot be added to any of the existing subforums... Although that would be a good opportunity to discover new ones =)
Perhaps it's not really a problem anyway
