I like to listen to good conceptual albums now and again rather than random songs so, any suggestions? Please add the concept behind it.
(More points if it's not power metal -harder to find-)

Among my favorites: Therion, Blind Guardian's Nightfall in Middle Earth, Hypocrisy's The Arrival (love aliens mrgreen ), Shadow Gallery's Tyranny (Cyberpunk!), Rhapsody

I've heard that Queensrÿche's Operation Mindcrime is one of the most well known conceptual albums ever, but I've never heard it.

However, Ziltoid the Omniscient by Devin Townsend and
Scenes From a Memory and Octavarium(The same-titled song is the only real concept part of the album, unless you count "The Root of All Evil" as well.) by Dream Theater,
are all excellent concept albums.

Helstar - Nosferatu

the first half (side one of the cassette or vinyl) is a concept album based loosely around bram stoker's dracula. the second half doesn't really stick with the concept, but oh well...

actually, other than that one, all the concept albums i listen to are by classic rock bands. maybe i should check out some other metal ones sometime...

Yes, I second the Queensryche album, the first one anyway. It's really cool to see it all live though.

I think Iced Earth's Horrorshow is like a concept album, I always loved it.

The War Starter

Amethystium_Withdrawal arrow yeap, i heard about that queensryche album. Ill have to check it out.
I'm also getting the Dream Theater albums I lack =)
Excuse my ignorance but, what does Townsend do? (sounds familiar though)

MegaTherion777 arrow That sounds like BM... is it?

The War Starter arrow Aye, I got that one. I didnt listen to it yet though.

Gravechild6 arrow Aha, King Diamond is a classic. I also like the concept behind Mastodon's Leviathan (related to Ahab), but I cannot give it a 10... I guess I like Mastodon but not that much.

And Metal Valkyrie arrow About Iced Earth albums, I think most of them are conceptual indeed. I forgot to mention The Dark Saga when talking about my favorites.

Does anyone know any death metal conceptual album? I cannot think of any at the moment...

Thanks father.
I like the early Covenant, but that electronic stuff... confused
The thing with comparing bands to Blind Guardian is that BG have quite an unique sound, and if u tell me that, I'm gonna be thinking of them when listening to Timeless, so I'll probably get a bad impression... If you say they are JUST a good power metal band it'd be better. But I shall check them out anyhow =)
I'm getting some Khors stuff after I read ur thread in the subforum, and I think I know Krig already (I'm terrible with names, I'm sorry).
Anyway, do they have conceptual albums?

You know, concept albums, albums with a single theme/story instead of random songs which are not linked to one another.
