Geez, I can't believe it! My father's views are insane! scream
I was talking to my father a little while ago. And, I was talking about gay marriage (just to see what he thought about it) And what he said infuriated me.
My father is conservative. And I understand that. But, still, it's just oi....his views on gay marriage really depressed me.
Anyway, I said to him "So...what do you think about gay marriage, just curious, you know?" And so he says "I think it's absolutely wrong! It's disgusting! Marriage should only be between a man and a woman! Gay marriage ruins the sanctity of straight-marriage....etc." I was just in awe.
Yes, I know, a lot of people feel this way, but...gosh, hearing that from my own father, it brought me to tears....
I mean, what if I fall in love with someone one day, who just happens to be a woman? Does he want me to be alone my entire life? Would he end up disowning me?
Because, see, neither of my parents knows that i'm bi yet. And, basically, I was just trying to see if coming out to them would be a problem. Apparently it would. So, oi, I just thought i'd mention this.
Does anyone else have parents like mine?
crying Gosh, I could really use a hug right now...-sigh- crying

*hugs* My parents are very accepting, luckily, but my girlfriend's aren't. They voted for the marriage ban on same sex couples in my state. I guess...once they found out, they just kind of dealt with it. Bleh. Parents can suck, but don't let them bring you down.

I mean, I always thought my father and mother would love me no matter what, now i'm not so sure...

Hopefully the love will win out over their self rightious beliefs. Just try to be very mature about it all when/if you decide to tell them. Eh. It's hard to keep your head up, but know that there is nothing wrong with who you are.

I know how it is. My mom and my step-dad know about me. Both rebulican, both conseritiave (sp?), but open minded. But do what feels right, it'll serve you best.

What's so funny? Who doesn't love Canada's wide open spaces? Lush forests?....
Where you can stand with your best girl Sally and sing! Sing! SING! "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day, I chop down trees, I eat my lunch, and go to the lavotry!"
GAH! *slaps self* No more Monty for me! gonk
