I see no reason in calling ourselves Christians. It's just a title given to us by Theologists to make it easier to differ between religions. So go ahead. Don't be a Christian. just lead a religious life, in which you love Jesus and God.
And there are a whole lot of people out there that call themselves Christian, but are just hypocrites, looking for attention, money, power, or a whole lot of other things. Anybody who follows Christ will be compared to them. don't let it get to you, and prove them wrong by leading a Godly life.

the title was first used in... Athens, i think... some city that started with "A" lol. Theres nothing that really says you HAVE to be called a christian... in the early days of the church, christianity was called The Way. so dont sweat it. I know alot of people out there claim to be christians, but really arent. or at least dnt act like it. And i know all of us make mistakes from time to time, especially me last year, but im doing a lil better. Dont worry about what people call you. You know that you Love Jesus, and God said that if we confess with our tongues tha Jesus is the Son of God, and ask for forivness, then we will be granted access to heaven. That is all you need, a title means nothing to God.

Last year i let peer preasure get to me. I went out with a wiccan chick, i got myself involved with a satanic band, i denied my faith, and i became known as the schools "physicotic killer" everyone in my school is terrified of me now... i became gothic... and... yea... i was a complete d**k to my friends also. Luckily God got me back on track, i'm good now though. but now i have to try to fix my reputation this year... wont be easy

2 things:
1st: 80% of America claims to be Christian while only 2% evangelize. 2% actually sounds like a much more realistic # of actual Christians in America.
2nd: Mathew 10:32. "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
33. "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
If you are simply talking about the title, then it's understandable, but to be ashamed of the faith excludes one from it.

Only G-d can judge us. Don't let people sway you. It was Jesus who said, "Don't fear men, who can destroy your body, but fear the One who can destroy both body and soul in hell." Our purpose is not to please people, but to please G-d. So let them criticize people who follow Christ. It is G-d who is perfect, not us. But it is good to know that you want to share the faith.

Your right, your not worse/better than anyone else. We're all the same. Equal, because thats how God made us. Some might do moe importanat things in life, but in God's eye, we're all hsi Children, and he loves us the same. But... You dont have to be ashamed to call yourself christian all in all... You could
1) deny the title, keep to your faith, thats perfectly fine, God doesnt care what you call yourself as long as you follow
2) Claim to be a christian, and prove it. Show the "Poser christians" How a christian is supposed to live. ^^

The world in which we are living is absolutely intolerant to Christian truths. They tell us to "preach" with our example, but do not want us to preach the gospel of salvation. They claim it is "shoving your religion down my throat." However, the world itself is shoving THEIR religion on our throat: a religion where you can do whatever you want, without any consequence by the part of God. They paint God as someone who is all loving, and forget that at the same time He is three times holy, and is a righteous judge.
In this sense, I assume you are saying that you are... sick, perhaps, of Christians who practice the Christian religion. Since the world does not like this, a lot of people inside churches are starting to believe that we must not preach the Word of God, because that would be "forcing our opinion unto others." Then again, what is the truth? The world preaches on us immorality, promiscuity, violence, and whatnot. Our God preaches forgiveness, salvation, and holiness, through Jesus Christ alone.
We are making men idols for ourselves, giving them a much more important opinion than God's views on things. God calls us to be prepared to preach "in season and out of season" (2 Tim. 4:2). God calls us to be brave, and not fear man's opinions (Jeremiah 1:7- cool . God calls us to live differently from those who tell us not to preach the gospel (Isaiah 30:9-11).
Remember: If other people who claim to be Christians do sin, what about you? Should you be disgusted at them? No. We are all sinners... every Christian is a sinner, but true Christians always repent after sinning, and they strive towards living an each time more Christlike life. Do not reject them because of sinning, and less if it's because the world hates them. Keep in mind that those who are from the world think according to the world's point of view: "They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them" (1 John 4:5). We have a different mind, and that's why the world rejects us: "We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood" (1 John 4:6).
Love those Christians as yourself, because, despite that they might be weak in certain aspects, if they have truly accepted Christ and fight to live according to the Scriptures, they are your brothers. Read Romans 14 for further reference.
