- Welcome - Rules/Warrior Code - Profiles - Cats in the Clans - Cats Outside the Clans - Ceremonies/Herb List - Warrior Language - Clan Ranks - reservedWelcome This roleplay is based on the Warriors book series by Erin Hunter. It will have all of the orignal clans and be set in the clans' new home by the lake. Also, this is my first time making a roleplay here on Gaia, so any help with this will be appreciated. Its probably not a good idea to make a roleplay here when I've only been in one myself, but I had an urge to make one and decided to try just to get rid of it. One more thing, a lot of the information in these first few posts will be from the Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans.

- Welcome - Rules/Warrior Code - Profiles - Cats in the Clans - Cats Outside the Clans - Ceremonies/Herb List - Warrior Language - Clan Ranks - reservedRules 1. Follow ToS (obviously) 2. Please try to stay away from one liners, especially really short ones. I have a habit of making some short posts when I have writer's block, so I probably won't be too strict about this rule. Just don't have a ridiculous amount one liners. 3. If you're going to be a cat in a clan please have a warrior name, not a pet name unless they have that name in the series. Warrior name examples: Fireheart, Sandstorm, Brightheart, Squirrelflight, etc. Leaders have -star at the end of their names, apprentices are -paw and kits are -kit. 4. Don't disrespect other people in the roleplay. 5. Send me your profile in a pm with the roleplay as the subject. 6. When you send me your profile please put an emoticon at the end so I know you have read these rules. 7. Please try to use the best spelling and grammar possible. 8. When you post out of character make sure we can tell you're out of character. 9. Roleplay in third person. 10. You can control as many cats as you want, but you must post as each of them. If I think it looks like you're having trouble controlling all them, I'll tell you to get rid of a few. 11. If you want to be a leader, deputy or medicine cat you must be active. 12. Killing happens in the book and it can happen in this roleplay, but don't kill another person's cat unless they are ok with it. 13. Try to keep the number of cats in each clan close to even. For example, if it likes Thunderclan has the most cats, then join one of the other clans. 14. When an apprentice becomes a warrior (or medicine cat), the person playing the leader and the person playing the apprentice will agree on the new name. 15. Please don't post until I've accepted your profile. 16. I have the right to add rules if I think I need to, probably won't though because this more than I thought I would have when I started. Warrior Code The warrior code is the set of rules that all clan cats live by. I've taken this from the Field Guide, the wording is exactly as it there. 1. Defend your clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your clan, as one day you may meet them in battle. 2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's terrotory. 3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. 4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to Starclan for its life. 5. A kit must be at least 6 moons old to become an apprentice. 6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night receiving their warrior name. 7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. 8.The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires. 9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh. 10. A gathering all four clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time. 11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. 12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different clan. 13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. 14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense. 15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

- Welcome - Rules/Warrior Code - Profiles - Cats in the Clans - Cats Outside the Clans - Ceremonies/Herb List - Warrior Language - Clan Ranks - reserved Username: Cat's Name: (remember to use the correct ending depending on their rank) Lives Left: (Leaders only. If you are a leader from the books and don't know how many they have left, you can make up the number. Just remember they can't have more than nine.) Gender: (Tom or She-cat) Appearance: (This doesn't need too much detail. Just the fur, eyes, any scars, etc. No colors that aren't normal for cats.) Rank: (Leader, Deputy, Warrior, Queen, Apprentice, Kit. If you want to be a leader or Deputy, I would appreciate it if you used the characters from the books, but you don't have to.) Clan/Loner/Kittypet/Rogue: (If they are from a clan, choose one. If they are a roque, say which clan they used to be in.) Kin: (Any kits, brothers, sisters, etc. that they have) Mate: (Not all cats are required to have a mate. Also, you can be a queen without a mate and medicine cats are not allowed to have mates.) Personality: (Everyone here should know what a personality is, so I won't say much about it.) Extra: (What else do you think we should know? Did they come another clan for a certain reason? Did something interesting that could impact the roleplay happen in their past? What are their strengths as a warrior? If they are a rogue, why were they kicked out of their clan? Those things.)
REMEMBER: Loners and rogues are different! A rogue is a cat who was kicked out of a clan. A loner is a cat who chose not to live in a clan or with twolegs.

- Welcome - Rules/Warrior Code - Profiles - Cats in the Clans - Cats Outside the Clans - Ceremonies/Herb List - Warrior Language - Clan Ranks - reservedCeremonies When these ceremonies are performed in the roleplay, just replace the names that need to be replaced. The ones with examples are taken from the Field Guide, the ones with blanks are from another Warriors RP. It depended on where I could find the words. Leader: Takes place at the Moonpool, cats of Starclan give the new leader his/her nine lives. Deputy: Leader does this ceremony. Example from the book- "I say these words before the body of Redtail, so that his spirit may hear and approve my choice. Lionhear will be the next deputy of Thunderclan." Warrior: Leader does this ceremony. "I, [leader’s name], leader of [Clan Name], call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He/She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her/him to you as a warrior in his/her turn. [Name of Apprentice], do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life? (Apprentice: I do.) Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. [Name of Apprentice], from now on you'll be known as [Name agreed upon by the two roleplayers]. StarClan honours your [a type of thing they are good at]&[another thing they good at] and we welcome you as a full warrior of [Clan name]."Apprentice: Leader does this ceremony "From this day forward, until he/she have earned his/her warrior name, [name of kit] will be known as [kit’s first part of name with paw]. [Name of a Warrior]! You are ready for an apprentice. [New Apprentice’s name] will be your apprentice. Teach him all the wisdom and knowledge you know."Elder: Leader does this ceremony "Goldenflower, is it your wish to give up the name of warrior and go to join the elders?" "It is." "Your clan honors you and all the service you have given us. I call upon Starclan to give you many seasons of rest."
Medicine Cat: Medicine cats will do this ceremony at the Moonpool. "I, [Medicine Cat Name], medicine cat of [Clan Name], call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She/he has trained hard to understand the way of a medicine cat, and with your help, she/he will serve her/his Clan for many moons. [Name of Apprentice], do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" (Apprentice: I do.) "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true medicine cat name. [Name of Apprentice], from this moment on, you shall be known as [The name that was agreed upon by the two roleplayers]. You have proven to be a true medicine cat."
Medicine Cat Apprentice: Medicine cat will perform this ceremony at the Moonpool. "[Name of Apprentice], is it your wish to enter the mysteries of a medicine cat?" (Apprentice: It is.) "Then come forward. Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She/he has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant her/him your wisdom and insight, so that she/he may understand the ways and heal her/his Clan in accordance with your will. Now, crouch down and bathe your nose in the light." (Apprentice touches nose to the Moonpool and has a dream with StarClan.)
Herbs List All this information is from the Field Guide.
Borage Leaves: To be chewed and eaten. The plant can be distinguished by its small blue or pink star-shaped flowers and hairy leaves. Great for nursing queens as it helps increase their milk supply. Also brings down fever.
Burdock Root: A tall-stemmed, sharp-smelling thistle with dark leaves. A medicine cat must dig up the roots, wash off the dirt, and chew them into a pulp, which can be applied to rat bites. Cures infection.
Catmint (Catnip): A delicious-smelling, leafy plant that's hard to find in the wild; often found growing in twoleg gardens. The best remedy for greencough.
Chervil: A sweet-smelling plant with large spreading, fernlike leaves and small white flowers. The juice of the leaves can be used for infected wounds, and chewing the roots helps a bellyache.
Cobweb: Spiderwebs can be found all over the forest; be careful not to bring along the spider when you take the web! Medicine cats wrap it around an injury to soak up the blood and keep the wound clean. Stops bleeding.
Coltsfoot: A flowering plant, a bit like a dandelion, with yellow or white flowers. The leaves can be chewed into a pulp, which is eaten to help shortness of breath.
Comfrey: Identifiably by its large leaves and small bell-shaped flowers, which can be pink white or purple, The fat black roots of this plant can be chewed into a poultice to mend broken bones or sooth wounds.
Dock: A plant similar to sorrel. The leaf can be chewed up and applied to soothe scratches.
Dried Oak Leaf: Collected in the autumn and stored in a dry place. Stops infections.
Feverfew: A small bush with flowers like daisies. The leaves can be eaten to cool down body temperature, particularly for cats with fever or chills.
Goldenrod: A tall plant with bright yellow flowers. A poultice of this is terrific for healing wounds.
Honey: A sweet, golden liquid created by bees. Difficult to collect without getting stung, but great for soothing infections or the throats of cats who have breathed smoke.
Horsetail: A tall plant with bristly stems that grow in marshy areas. The leaves can be used to treat infected woods. Usually chewed up and applied as a poultice.
Juniper Berries: A bush with spiky dark green leaves and purple berries. The berries soothe bellyaches and help cats who are having trouble breathing.
Lavender: A small purple flowering plant. Cures fever.
Marigold: A bright orange or yellow flower that grows low to the ground. The petals or leaves can be chewed into a pulp and applied as a poultice to wounds. Stops infection.
Mouse Bile: A bad-smelling liquid that is the only remedy for ticks. Dab a little moss soaked in bile on a tick and it'll fall right off. Wash paws thoroughly in running water afterward.
Poppy Seed: Small black seeds shaken from a dried poppy flower, these are fed to cats to help them sleep. Soothes cats suffering from shock and distress.
Stinging Nettle: The spiny green seeds can be administered to a cat who's swallowed poison, while the leaves can be applied to a wound to bring down swelling.
Tansy: A strong-smelling plant with round yellow flowers. Good for curing coughs, but must be eaten in small doses.
Thyme: This herb can be eaten to calm anxiety and frayed nerves.
Watermint: A leafy green plant found in streams or damp earth. Usually chewed into a pulp and then fed to a cat suffering bellyache.
Wild Garlic: Rolling in a patch of wild garlic can help prevent infection, especially for dangerous wounds like rat bites.
Yarrow: A flowering plant whose leaves can be made into a poultice and applied to wounds or scratches to expel poison.
Deathberries: Red berries that can be fatally poisonous to kits and elders. They are NOT medicine. Known to twolegs as yew berries.Beware!

- Welcome - Rules/Warrior Code - Profiles - Cats in the Clans - Cats Outside the Clans - Ceremonies/Herb List - Warrior Language - Clan Ranks - reservedClan Ranks Any information here is from the Field Guide, but I am not using all the information in the book. The only excpetions are the queens and kits because the Field Guide doesn't cover them like the other ranks. Leader: resposible for calling clan meetings, appointing warriors, mentors and apprentices, and deciding Clan policy and strategy with the help of their deputy and any cats they choose to consult for advice (usually the medicine cats, the elders, or senior warriors). When a cat becomes Clan leader he or she must travel to the Moonpool and share tongues with the warrior ancestors of Starclan. The Clan's medicine cat accompanies them on the journey, but leaves them alone for the ceremony, in which the leader is granted eight extra lives and a new name with "star" at the end. This process can be surprising and painful. During the ceremony, each life is given to the new leader by a cat whose life was significant to the new leader in some way ( for Firestar it was Lionheart, Redtail, Silverstream, Runningwind, Brindleface, Swiftpaw, Yellowfang, Spottedleaf and Bluestar). When a leader loses a life, she or he blacks out for a short period of time, during which that cat visits with Starclan and speaks with its warrior ancestors. On returning to consciousness the leader must still recover from the injury or illness that felled him or her. Medicine cats can usually tell how many lives a leader has left, although the number is kept from rival Clans. Deputy: A clan's deputy is chosenby the leader, to assist in taking care of the clan. To qualify a warrior must have had an apprentice and must be strong and brave, with the qualities needed to take on leader ship of the Clan if necessary. The deputy presides over clan meetings when the leader is absent, stands in for the leader at gatherings if the leader is ill, organizes daily patrols, and oversees the training of apprentices. According to the warrior code, when a deputy dies or steps down, the leader must announce a new deputy before moonhigh. Deputies stop being deputy if: - the Clan leader dies, leaving the deputy to take over as leader. - the deputy retires and becomes an elder. - the deputy commits a crime against the warrior code and is demoted or driven from the Clan. - the deputy dies or is killed in battle. Apprentices: Before a cat can become a warrior, he or she must be trained to fight and hunt and defend the clan. At the age of six moons, kits leave the nursery and become apprenctices. At this point they change the second part of their names from "kit" to "paw" to sympolize the path their paws are now on. The Clan leader assigns each apprentice a mentor. Apprentices are responsible for chores around the camp in addition to their training. Warriors: Warriors patrol the borders, keep the fresh-kill pile supplied, and defend their Clanmates against attacks from enemy cats or predators. They fight to protect the clan for as long as they are able and are often called upon to mentor apprentices. During the warrior naming ceremony, an apprentice gives up the "paw" half of their name and earns a real warrior name (Fireheart, Sandstorm, Brambleclaw, etc.) Elders: Many warriors die young in battle, of disease, or from a natural disaster. Those cats lucky enough to live a long life may eventually retire from their warrior duties to become elders. These elderly cats are viewed with the deepest respect by most of the Clan. Many moons of experience make them an invaluable source of advise for the cCan leader, and they keep alive Clan history by passing down the old stories. Medicine cats: No Clan could survive without a medicine cat's knowledge of herbs and compassion for the sick. In addition, these cats have a spiritual responsibilty. Their unusually strong connectionto StarClan allows them to receive and interpret visions that can guide the Clan through dark times. The life of medicine cat is not easy, but it is very rewarding. Although medicine cats cannot have a mate or kits, they are beloved and respected the whole Clan. Queens: A queen is a she-cat who performs normal warrior duties until she is going to have kits. Then she moves into the nursery and lives there until her kits have grown and become apprentices. Kits: Kits are, obviously, the children of queens. They love to play and get into things. Kits are not allowed to leave camp at all and are not even allowed outside the nursery until they get too big to play there.

The ice shatters... The sun creeped over the sweeping grasses of Windclan territory. As the light hit, a black and silver shape stalked through the growing light. A starling landed not but feet away from the shape, pecking seeds off the ground. Seconds passed, then the shape acted, pouncing out of nowhere onto the bird. Its shrieks were silenced in one bite to the throat; the starling was the first of many animals to fall as prey today. The shape stood, revealed to be a young she-cat, long and slender, black and silver united on one pelt at a young age. She took the lifeless starling in her jaws, turned and walked beck to camp. ...with each step I take.
