Sen was a bit annoyed. Their recent 'freedom' ('their' being her and her brothers) hadn't been so... free just yet. It was true they were a good distance away from the area they once called home, but... Hmph! They were still in the Pridelands! 'Anxious' wasn't a strong enough word for how badly she wanted to leave. Of course, it had become less about leaving and more about simply seeing new places. The green and rocks and whatever was here was only interesting for so long.

"I wonder where we should go next?" Sen mused aloud, pawing at the dirt. She drew a circle, which eventually became a crude resembalance of a fullbodied lioness with wings. When was Mwokoti going to come back? Yeah, yeah. She had that 'job' to do because of her 'domain'. It didn't make sense to the juvenile why she didn't just ditch her 'job' or 'domain' and do whatever she wanted. If it were Sen, she'd just fly, fly, fly all day long. Except when she had to sleep or eat.

A low growl rose from her stomach.

Speaking of...

The pale white lion had recently found himself hunting farther and farther away from his home and son. It gave him more time to think. He always returned, never gone more than a few hours out of fear of leaving Tetemeko alone with his family for too long. In his youth he wandered often, but now? Now he was a father and fathers do not abandoned cub…that was a mother’s job. He was resentful of the goddess who he loved for a moment and was gone the next; she left him a gift and a burden, more the former than the latter.

His hunting had caught him a young gazelle, one that h was quite proud of, it was not weak or the smallest of its little herd, but one of the healthy and harder to catch. He dragged it slowly through the lands towards the copse of trees where he knew his son was either playing under the watchful eye of his mother, or where he knew Tete had escaped that watchful eye and his mother was worrying looking for him. The gazelle oblong tracks in the dirt and grass as he tugged it along, soft grunting that was muffled by the corpse escaped him.

Sen wasn't the type to ask for food from a stranger. If the stranger was literally dragging food with them, the rule still applied. It wasn't her hunger, but her extreme boredem and lack of knowledge about the where abouts of either of her traveling partners that had her trotting along side the Pridelander within seconds.

"That's pretty good," she admitted, eye the dead best. It didn't look like one of those sick or weak ones that a lot of lions went for. "I'm going to take that type down soon, too."

Kubwa set it down and looked at the little white lioness, she looked to be about Tete's age or a little older.

"Will you now? Would you like some? It's more than enough for my family, besides, I'm sure my family has already went huntingand brought something else home." he smirked and nodded, "I'm Kubwa, and I'm sure that you'll bring home great game." He remembered his father teaching him to hunt vividly and smiled warmly.

What was one so young doing alone? Did Tete wander off like this when he wasn't looking? Kubwa had always assumed Tete went to visit Tai and his adoptive family.

"You're kinda weird." Sen made a lot of observations, and blurted those observations out thoughtlessly. What? He was weird! She'd never had a lion be so... friendly-ish before with her. Not even ones in her own family acted that way.

"No, thank you, I'll eat later," she told him. It wasn't that she was against charity in the form of food, but taking from strangers still felt sort of strange. Besides, Mwokoti was an amazing hunter (probably because of her size and the whole flying thing), and she'd drop a whole dead zebra in front of Sen and her brother later. No doubt about it!

"My traveling partner brings me food," she explained.

"I've been called worse," he chuckled, "If you're sure, I wouldn't mind sharing?" he bobbed his head in the same fashion his mother always did an shuddered at the thought of being so much like her.

He glanced down and was shocked to see a cude drawing of a goddess, "You wouldn't happen to know..B-b-Boma'Burudi..would you? She's uh-uh-a Goddess." He was instantly without words, what if she was still around?

There were more of them? Sen had always assumed there were, but Mwokoti had never mentioned anyone else, not to her. How exciting! "No, I don't." Her head shook back and forth. "I know Mwokoti. That's a drawing of her, yup."

Her head tilted in a cute, yet questioning way. It was as if his reaction had just registered, and she didn't understand it. "Did they do something bad? You sound all... freaky about them."

And she remembered, that once, Mwokoti had said to, 'Sometimes, the higher powers than mortals never admit to wrong-doings, because while you die, we live with them until the end of time itself.'

He sighed relieved, he'd met or known of a few different gods and godesses but his mind was quick to jump to his Boma well..not his but, Boma'burudi.

"Yes and I know, I loved a Goddess and she loved me..but she left," he sounded distant the thoughts of the lovely feathers and the smell of earth seemed to over take him.

"They're nice, my friend Wahabu has met many, he told me of them and I've always wanted to fly, I have flown infact. Some, though need to understand that us mortals need to be loved and taken care of until we die. She was so old...and didn't need me it seems. Be careful with your Mwokoti, they're tricky."

Sen listened to the tale with wide eyes. He was in love with a Goddess? It had never really crossed her mind that mortals could be interested in the Gods like that... She had never considered it. It sounded weird to her, for some reason.

"I wanna fly, too!" she cheerfully, and loudly, told him. "I have a lot of times with Mwokoti! My brother, too! He's a wimp, but--" Her words were cut short. The juvenile tilted her head and with an odd expression prodded, "What do you mean 'tricky'? Mwokoti's not 'tricky'."

He bobbed his head in his mother's fashion and turned it into a curt nod, "Gods have lived a long time, and they might not always be after what you think they are. They will befriend you, but be warned they'll take from you what they want, no matter what. If it's friendship they want then you're fine, but some...some are not as nice as others."

"My son, he..he's half god. And you're the only one I've told, will you keep that a secret?" His eyes sparkled with intensity and it would seem that not many would cross the young father.

Sen listened with a serious face. It wasn't rare for her to have that expression, but for her to bother hearing someone else out was. Normally she had her opinion set in stone, and if you said otherwise, she just ignored you.

The pridelander blinked. Who the hell was she going to tell? She didn't even know his son. She didn't really know him either. None the less, she nodded and assured him, "I won't tell anyone."

Half-God...? "Does he have wings?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 10, 2007 2:33 pm

He nodded at her promise not to tell and answered her question reluctantly, "You know, I never thought he would have them, he looks like a normal lion, maybe he'll grow them when he's older?" He didn't think it was possible for Tetemeko to have wings, but now that he thought about it he could be hiding them, after all you'd think the god's genes would be more prominent.

He glanced down at his kill and was going to say it was best that he moved on before it started to smell bad in the sun, but he did not want to be rude to the little lioness, rudeness to young ones causes them to be rude to others.

Sen seemed to take a hint. "I'll follow you a little while," she offered, and moved beside him, ready to move. Most of the time, she socialized a small amount and got wary of whoever she was talking with.

There was still a lot she wanted to ask a lion like this, though...

"So your son has a Goddess as a mom? I didn't know they went with mortals like... that. Did she leave? Or got lost? If she got lost, Mwokoti can help."

Speaking of, the Goddess was calling her suddenly from close by.

"I have to go," Sen announced regretfully. "I'll see you again, though, I hope. I want to meet your son."

Before Kubwa thought he could answer the stream of questions from the little one she had to go, his head started spinning. Did Tete always ask so many questions? He didn't think so, but then again Kubwa told Tetemeko as much as he possibly could.

"Yes, mortals and gods can have children, he looks more like her than me. She's not lost, but I may want to talk to Mwokoti, could you ask her if she might see me sometime...to let me ask questions?" He wanted to meet another goddess, he'd met two and both were nice but he didn't have a wide range of comparison. And maybe...just maybe..Boma'burudi was lost?

"It was nice meeting you as well, Sen," he nodded and turned slightly bending to his kill, and awaiting her replies.
