lately, i've been playing a ton of jimi hendrix (wind cries mary, purple haze, stone free, etc). And i'm thinking i need another guitar. cause the guitar i'm playing right now is an ibanez ic400 iceman with a seymour duncan invader. and thats not really made for soft playing. i'm thinking of getting either an ibanez artcore with the tremolo, or a fender telecaster. what do you think would be better?

personally, i would go with a hollowbody just cuz they have a real nice acoustic sound when played clean. if it were me i would go with a comprimise. save up and get a fender thinline tele.

I prefer playing straight from the amp, prefferably a fender deville or fender twin, and for me, a no solid guitar can match the glassy tones of a hollowbody like the ES335

if you like ol' Jimi, a telecaster is the way to go just keep in mind he uses a certain distortion, and is very unique, then again, I'm a Gibson kid, and am not a fender fan, but what do I know

just go to a guitar store, bring your amp and what not, and play there and listen to every guitar carefully, that's what you should do, aslo if you switch to the nekc pickup it softens it up a bit
