Ianthe was having a wonderful time in her hunt for this elusive sea that she had heard off. She had hints that she was getting closer, since it seemed that a handful more of the strangers she met knew what it was. Glee! The wild dog skipped her way through the cool evening air, gratefuly that the hot sun was now not so hot.

She skidded to a stop, noticing that there was a watering hole. Oh goodie~! SHe wasn't alone in noticing, but she didn't take the time to notice who and what else was around. Instead, she dived right for the edge, intent on gulping up some good, fresh water.

Zuri had been seated at the edge of said water hole, in the shade of a crooked tree. Having had a drink, he was resting out of the heat of the midday sun. At the flash of lavender that briefly danced across his vision, he turned his head, squinting his eyes against the sun.

Oh! It was another wild dog! Wagging his tail lightly, Zuri watched with amusement as the other dog splashed into the water wildly. She didn't seem to have noticed him.

Standing and shaking the dirt from his coat, he trotted over, a smug smile on his face. "Well, hello there! Thirsty, are we?" he inquired smoothly, winking at the female roguishly.

Ianthe's head popped up from the water, and ear finding the other wild dog before her face did. Bits of water dripped off her face as she watched him for a moment, before a smile cracked her face. "Hello!" she echoed, surprised to see another wild dog. And in a colour not too unlike her own!

She gignerly made her way out of the water, careful to not splash more then she needed to. Once she had hit the shore, she pulled herself out, shaking each leg to get rid of as much water as she could. She didn't really want to ger her paws all muddy now, not if she could help it. She inched her way towards the other dog, curious but not afraid.

"Yes, I was kind of thirsty. Plus you never know when you'll find a watering hole!" she replied briskly, and truthfully.

Grinning with amusement as water droplets sprayed him, Zuri took a polite step back and let her shake herself dry. He watched her with an appreciative look on his face, still smiling. She was quite pretty, her markings unlike the usual splotches one generally saw on wild dogs.

"I suppose you're right." He remarked, tilting his head. "One can never be too careful in this heat."

Studying her for a moment more, he sat down a foot or so away, near the gentle lapping of the waterhole. "Where are you headed, then?"

Ianthe's pink eyes peered up at his, not suspicious, but curious as to why he talked in such a polite manner. It was something that she was not used to, and made her feel a bit self conscience about the way she spoke. She should fix that, huh? But being carefree like a youth just seemed to fit her better.

"Oh! I'm off to find the sea," she brightened up. "It's hard to find though, I've been looking for it for quite a while." Her tail wagged behind her, brushing against the ground. "What about you? Do you live around here?"

"The sea?" Zuri repeated, looking curious. "I've never been there. What is it?"

"Ah, no." He replied, smiling at her and wagging his tail in return. "I'm a wanderer. I live where ever I feel like, whenever I feel like it." He sounded smug in his description of his life, and indeed he felt that it was surely much better than any stifling pack life he might have.

"Tell me about the sea, lovely." he said, dropping to a sphinx-like position and placing his head on his forepaws. "Why do you want to go there?"

"I'm not really sure," she admitted. "I heard it's like a watering hole, only as big as you can imagine! I want to see it, just to see if it really exists." A childish excitement excaped through her eyes, staring at the horizon for a moment as if it was jsut over there. She knew it wasn't, since she had found out that there was salt in it, and she might be able to smell it, but still! It had to be close! She had been searching for oh so long....

"It's supposed to be really pretty," she mentioned, picking up her side of the conversation again. "And I really like pretty things, so I'm determined to see it soon. It's my goal in life~!" It never crossed her mind what to do after she had seen it, but she was simpleminded enough that she would figure out something else to do after that. Well, perhaps she wasn't so much simple minded as she was easy to please.

"Woooow, so you travel too! It seems like no one lives in packs around here." A little rough to state, but it was the truth. "Not that it's a bad thing, though! Just not what I expected, I guess."

"I've seen a few packs around." Zuri said, following her gaze to the horizon. "None that I'd want to join, of course, but packs nonetheless." He grinned as she described the sea, one ear flopping sideways as he did so.

"That sounds amazing, miss--?" he trailed off, glancing back up at the pale female. "I'm sorry, I never asked your name. I'm Zuri. Your sea sounds like a wonderful place." he added, grinning happily once more.

Ianthe couldn't help but flush when this...Zuri? said 'her sea'. In the time it was taking to find the silly thing, it sure was starting to feel like hers, since so few seemed to know about it! It fueled her determination to find it, though, and to also share it with everyone she came across. It had to be wonderful, it just had to be!

"I'm sorry, too! I have been so rude." She gave a little bow to the other purple wild dog. He was so friendly! "I'm Ianthe! It's nice to meet you, Zuri. Especially a Wild Dog that's the same colour as me~!" She laughed with pleasure, since obviously he wouldn't be gushing over her odd colours. She didn't mind but it make her feel a little self-conscience again at times.

"Not a problem, not a problem." Zuri chuckled, inclining his head as Ianthe introduced herself. At her comment about his color, he laughed and tilted his muzzle down, looking from his own fur to hers. "Indeed I am! Though your color is much more delicate than mine, if I might say. More.. feminine." he observed with a wink and a wag of his tail.

"The pleasure is all mine, I'm sure."

Ianthe didn't really get where he was going with that, but she simply shrugged it off and bobbed her head again, her tongue peeking out from the side of her mouth. "So umm..." she started, unsure as where she should go with her question.

She sort of wanted Zuri to go with her perhaps, especially since it would be just that much more fun to finall see the sea with someone else there to share the excitement! Too bad Chakelete didn't come, but she'd see him again, hopefully, and maybe even take him with her again!

"Umm...do you think you'd might like to go with me?" Her question was small, quiet, and very shyly done, but her pink eyes glimmered with a bit of hope. Would he?

Zuri watched Ianthe with amusement as she thought. How charming she was, with her adorable head-bobbing. He grinned and waited patiently while she formed her words, then bowed his head deeply.

"To your sea? It would be an honor to accompany you!" He replied suavely. "I should like nothing more than to visit the sea you speak of, especially with a travel companion as lovely as yourself." He added. Oh dear, was he laying it on a bit thick? He grinned lopsidedly and wagged his tail, trying to lighten the mood. "Just show me the way!"

"Yay!" she blurted out, her attention now switching back to just where they were. Wait. What way did she come when she ran into Zuri? Oh, she couldn't really remember just which way she came from! "Ummm," she started, keeping herself a bit still so hopefully Zuri wouldn't realize that she didn't really know which way to go.

"Let's go this way then!" She pipped up, turning back to Zuri to give him a jundge before taking a couple steps forward in the direction she thought to go, and hoped he would follow right after her. It would be so nice to not be going alone now.

"Lead the way, Ianthe." Zuri smiled, inclining his head slightly before trotting over to the other wild dog, following just behind her so that he could see where they were headed... and watch her, discreetly. Did she have stripes on the underside of her tail? Ah, well, there would be plenty of time to find out later...

Though he suspected that she had little idea of which way the sea was, it didn't particularly matter to Zuri where they were going. After all, half the fun would be getting there, surely.

"Okay!" Ianthe called out, happy that she now had a traveling partner, as well as being able to lead the way. Yay! She danced around him for a moment before picking up the lead, glancing around before deciding her direction to go. "I think we should go this way," she started. "It feels right."

She gave a nudge to Zuri before bounding off, stopping for a moment to see if he was following her. "C'mon, let's go have some fun!"
