Azriel was fully awake at dawn. Years of the 'early to bed, early to rise' doctrine imposed by his Father had turned Azriel into something of a morning person. Even here, away from his family, Azriel followed the usual morning routine of cleaning himself, and partaking only of water before heading to temple to pray to his God. And from what he'd seen last night as he arrived at the temple, he was going to need all the divine intervention he could get!

"So many beautiful girls!" he murmured happily to himself, purple eyes half lidded as he daydreamed about things of which his God would probably not approve. As the east began to lighten, he stirred himself from his reverie, and began to walk to the temple, taking long, graceful strides so as to stretch his limbs.

He wanted to make a good impression on his first visit to the temple.

Oh, when the little maluess found out such an interesting little fact, she would be sure to suggest exploring with him. Minze never stayed around long enough for the stoney environment to become home, so exploration would make quite an adventure! Oblivious to the young male's words, the female strolled across the courtyard, her pink eyes trained upon a tiny blue butterfly. Needless to say, with her gaze so focused upon so small a target, she certainly didn't heed the shape looming before her until she had collided with it completely.

Bouncing back, her hind legs gave out behind her so that she settled into a seated position. No harm done, she supposed, on her part as nothing really hurt save the tip of her nose where it had made contact with the other Malu's strong neck muscles, but she merely shook her head clear and lifted her gaze to focus on him. "Oh, I'm dreadfully sorry! I was distracted." A grin slowly claimed her features as she found him to be quite attractive, her cherub wings fluttering in pleasure before she stood once more to introduce herself with a slight incline of her head.

"I am Minze."

A... Goddess...

She had to be. Azriel had been struck first by her nose, and now by her looks. For a seeming eternity, he stood there, jaw agape as he stared at the vision in green and pink, and wondered what Goddess had considered him so worthy to come down from Heaven and smite him with her dainty nose.

Finally, reason returned, and Azriel could swear that he felt his Father whack him in the torso for staring at a Lady for so long without offering his name, nor helping her up. Abashed, Azriel, moved into a graceful bow. The one offered to ladies you did not know, which involved touching the tip of his antlers to the ground. Fine with Azriel, it hid the deepening purple on his cheeks.

"My lady. I am Azriel. A profound pleasure to meet you." he replied. "My apologies if my neck caused you any discomfort. May I help you up?"

He'd recovered enough by the last two sentences that they were delivered with full grace of an experienced courtesan, and Azriel hoped that his God would excuse the earlier blunder. Still, what a babe!

Oh, such a thought would flatter Minze into silence, most assuredly, until she attempted to convince him she was the farthest from a Goddess incarnate that one could be.

Her pink eyes wandered his form as the silence stretched on, unabashed and unashamed. After all, he said nothing to do the same so she felt no hesitation to study him. His coat was pleasing and the colouring... odd. She'd not seen it before, but it was quite an attractive combination. Unfortunately, however, she stood as he bowed and so when the question came, she could give him naught but a soft, apologetic smile.

The smile broadened, however, as her lips parted to answer him, "It is a pleasure, most certainly, to make your acquaintance, Azriel. Your neck caused no discomfort that my clumsiness didn't assist." Her cherub wings shifted, the feathers whispering with the moment as she looked at him, "Have you recently arrived?"

Such ready forgiveness! Azriel lifted his head, and marveled at her graciousness. He also marveled at the sound her wings made as they moved, and the coy sparkle in her eye as she asked him if he'd just arrived.

Ah, the interested attention of a female! Azriel thrived on it and smiled blissfully as he replied.

"Yes indeed. I arrived only yesterday evening, Lady Minze. Unfortunately, it was far past sundown, so I delayed my prayers that I might rest and offer my full awareness to Him this morning."

Azriel was unaware that 'this morning' was progressing around him, and that soon it'd be rather later for morning prayers.

"Perhaps, Lady Minze, you would do me the honor of showing me the temple?" he asked, hoping to win a bit more time by her.

She'd noticed his own brightly coloured wings, of course, but it was the antlers that drew her attention. She liked how sturdy they made a male look. Her tail waved suddenly, eyes bright as they moved to his own once again. She was interested, of course, but who wouldn't be? He was a handsome lad if there ever was one.

"Do tell me if I delay you." She tilted her head to one side with a smile as if daring him to tell her so now, but instead she spoke again and asked more questions that would continue conversation between them. "Him? And who might it be that you're devoted to?"

Her pink eyes widened with pleasure at his request, paws shifting as her gaze darted toward the large building not so far across the courtyard. This was likely his way of telling her that she was, indeed, delaying him, but he was offering to spend more time with her. Splendid. She did love the game of social interaction. "Of course, good sir. Follow me."

YES!! Azriel inwardly danced at her acquiescence, but outwardly gave her a dignified bow, antlers proudly displayed, for he had seen her admiring them.

"My heartfelt, thanks, Lady Minze!" he said, eyes glimmering with enthusiasm. He moved in to walk beside her as they made their way to the temple. Not at all in a hurry, mind you.

"Ah, I follow the God of Gallantry, my Lady." he explained to her earlier query, ears perked and tail held high. Azriel was flattered by her interest, and was also pleased by the movement of her legs as she walked. She carried grace in every bone, and seemed to glide across the ground. They were almost hypnotizing, but he tore his eyes away from them to meet the even lovlier sight of her refreshing pink eyes. "May I ask what God or Goddess you follow?"
