The soft glow of the moonlight dimly lit the savannah. Cubs and pups were already set down to sleep while their parents took shifts watching them. Birds were settling into their nests, warming eggs that were soon to hatch. Everywhere that his paws took him was 'family'. There was always a glow of love and peacefulness. Something that he had never known. He had left his family early. And when the family came together for a small 'hello' He headed further away.
There was something about 'family' that made him angry. He never wanted to see them again. And Never wanted to have one of his own. Being tied down. Having to live with 8 other brothers and sisters. He would never put any pup through that. Having to fight for attenton and affection. That had been no way to live.
Now that he was free to go where he wanted and do what he wanted, life had been much easier. Much happier. There was no other life to live.
As the families of Africa fell into hushed sleeps, Ajabu was wide awake and on the Prowl. And whatever he ran he ran into would not have the best night of it's life. Tht is, if he ran into anyone tonight.

Trotting happily across the moonlit savannah, Natefala sniffed at the air, alert as ever, but not terribly interested in everything that was going on around him. The sounds and smells of family, rather than aggravate him, calmed and warmed him, but confused him, reminding him of his somewhat broken family, all those that he missed spending time with, and those he'd never even managed to spend time with at all.
The winds lifted briefly, bringing a familiar scent towards him, a mix of his mother and father, with a definitive spike all of its own, his brother! The fact that he had only just been thinking of his family seemed to him greater than a coincidence; it had to be fate! Perhaps it was time for his shattered family to come back together once more! Maybe there was hope yet!
Throwing caution to the wind, the always rambunctious male picked up speed, altering course only slightly, there he was! "Ajabu!" he called brightly, running up and bumping his forehead against his brothers affectionately.
It might have done him well to pay more attention to his brothers irritated body language and scent, but Nate was just so overcome with excitement at seeing his brother that he could only think far enough ahead to greeting him with as much enthusiasm as he could muster.

Ajabu could smell something. Different than anything else around him. Something that he could of sworn he had forgotten. It seemed to be 'family'. Disgusting. He could hear him. Whichever one it was, anyways. He wondered if it was Nate, the only sibling that he had bothered to learn it's name. All the others were grouped together and it usually left him and Nate together as puppies.
He turned his head, dim green eyes widening as his brotheres head ran into his own. Pain pulsed throughhis body as the thick headed 'brother' was to stupid to slow on inpact. A light growl was almost unheard. A warning for Natefala to back off. If there was one thing that he didn't want to run into, litterally, was family.
Ajabu too a small step back, head lowered and eyes glaring menecingly. "What do you want?" He sounded rude, pushy, Almost like he wanted to fight. Even if Nate decided to turn around and run, Ajabu would still chase him down. Nate had ruined a perfectly quiet night. And he was not going to get away with it that easily.

Blinking warily, Nate took a step back as well, tail tucking between his legs and ears swivelling back nervously. 'Why is he growling at -me-,' he wondered silently, 'after all, we're brothers... we're supposed to be friends! Better than friends! We're family!'
Cautiously, Natefala licked under Ajabu's chin, tail wagging low but hopefully. "Brother! I just wanted to see you... I smelled you, and thought it might be nice to say hello..." He tapered off there, confusion and slight sadness creeping across his features. "I haven't seen you, or anyone really, for such a long time! ...I missed you." He reclined to his haunches keeping an eye out for any sudden moves, Ajabu seemed rather cross, and he wasn't sure why.
Nate couldn't possibly imagine attacking a member of his all hallowed family, but he had no idea how his brother felt on the subject, and wanted to be able to get away if Ajabu was in as unpleasant frame of mind as he seemed to be.
