The forest was dark and owls seemed to hoot from every direction. Branches from old trees loomed threateningly and vines looked more like vicious snakes littered across the leafy ground. A crimson lion wandered here alone, glancing about warily. This was a bit too creepy for his tastes, and he puffed out his mane to make his small frame look larger. There was no telling what could be around these parts, but he was on a mission, and would not fail.
"D-daveigh?" He uttered his sister's name in an unusually loud voice, considering he was usually hardly audiable. His sister had disappeared from his father's pride many nights ago, and he'd been on a search for her since. He couldn't help but wonder if she was in these woods, frightened in alone. He shuddered as another thought came to mind... no... he wouldn't allow himself to think like that!
Just then he spotted something white, almost ghostly amung the branches of low foilage. It seemed to be... spotted... "Daveigh?" Whoever.. whatever it was turn it's head and he was relieved to see the bright smiling face of his sister giving him a curious look. "Daveigh! I've found you!" He took a couple steps forward in disbelief, but she didn't seem to hear him. He tried to take a couple more steps forward, a smile creeping onto his face and tears starting to spill over the brims of his eyes. "Daveigh, where have you been?" Again she just gave him the same, curious stare, smiling the whole time. But he'd taken one step too close and her sweet smile turned into a menacing snarl. Her usually beautiful purple eyes turned a glowing red, and her body went darker than night. "N-no..."
Arsenic turned to run but was a moment too late as the monsters claws lashed out and touched his flesh...
Arsenic's eyes shot open with a loud yell and he was to his paws in an instant. His breathing was heavy and his mane was wet with his sweat. But as he shook his head something jingled, and he was shocked to see that his mane was thinner, longer, and ...braided?! He jumped back, what the hell had happened? Looking to the ground he realized that not only was he taller, but his paws had been replaced with hooved. "What kind of dillusion is this? Have I lost my mind?"
He blinked a couple times, hurridly looking for water, or something that he could see his reflection in. With a bit of relief he noticed a puddle near by and stumbled over, looking down at himself. What he saw made him jump again. Every inch of him seemed to have lost it's feline nature... His tail was no more than what seemed like a long mane... his legs were longer, and his chest and legs were more muscular. He still looked the same as far as coat, eye, and mane color, but he was so different.
He'd seen pictures of what he now was drawn inside some very old worn caves. What did the elderes call them?... Horses was it? He couldn't believe what was going on.. Was he still alseep? The ground felt real... The sweat was sticky and hot enough to be real...
His breath came in short gasps as he again stepped forward to face what he was. He wasn't in Rose Petal any more.... Far from it... There wasn't a lion in sight... Not a cub... not an elder.. No kings... It was terribly unreal...

Wakin' up, and I hear that song... Hold my ears, 'cause it sounds all wrong.
Torey couldn't sleep. Maybe it was the obnoxious hoot of the owls, maybe it was the overly cheerful glare of the sun as it peeked over the horizon... Or was it something else? For the smokey stallion to be up and about this early, something big had to happen today. It always did, for him to be up and about this early.
The stallion snorted, ebony hooves prancing along the dew covered grass, silver eyes giving the area around him a half-hearted glance. Nothing super special as of yet. What a shame, he was really looking forward to a little adventure today, and he wanted it now. Impatient? Of course. He was just a young stallion, after all. Playing with his lipring, he broke into a canter, short mane and tail fluttering behind him, smoking, a black fire. Thick braided necklaces thumped against his broad chest, matching the rhythm of his strides.
Ah, the forest. He turned with ease, deciding to take a detour through the thick trees, dense flora and fauna that grew under the leafy cover. Never broke a stride as he darted between the trunks, nostrils flaring as his heart pounded in his chest. Despite his dislike for this early in the morning, there was one thing that made waking up so early worth it: a morning run. The whole world still off in the world of dreams, unaware of the golden rays as they kissed the dark landscape.
Something slowed Torey to a trot. Something about this part of the forest seemed... different. Someone else was up, wandering around here. Smelled like someone in a bit of a panic. Powerful legs halted, chest heaving, oxygen being eaten up like sugar.
Pale eyes searched the area, intent on finding whoever it was that seemed to be in such a tizzy so early in the morning. Didn't take long to find who it was. Some stallion, dark red fella, staring at himself in a puddle. Okay, Torey was vain, but come on. Wake up so early, all panicked, just to look at yourself?
"What're you doin'?" He asked, trotting over, curious. No, Torey had no problems with talking to strangers. Why should he? He could certainly hold his own. The dark stallion stopped a few feet away, head tilted slightly as he looked at the other. Whoever it was.. He didn't really seem to know how to stand. Looked kinda awkward, he did. "Need some help, bud?"

Arsenic began to pace slowly. Each step was shakey and every once and a while he stumbled and had to stop to regain balance. This was the first time he'd been in a real panic since Daveigh was found to be missing, and it was definately doing a number on him.
His ear and tail were twitching uncantrolably as he stopped to look at himself. All he need to do was calm down. Deep breaths... deep breaths... He closed his eyes tight, continue long, deep breaths. Slowly his ears stopped twitching quite as much and he started to become slightly calm. Now if he opened his eyes slowly he would be a lion again....
"What're you doin'?"
"WAH!" Arsenic stumbled backwards, tripping over his own hooves in the process and ending up sprawled out on the ground. He looked up to see a younger stallion, obviously much better off on his hooves than he was. He looked slightly embarassed as the young male noticed how akward he was when standing, but he shook his head and slowly, but surely, lifted himself back up.
Now on his hooves he noticed that even here he was smaller than the younger stallions. Some things never change... Glancing around to make sure no one else was going to pop out at him he was able to studder in his soft voice. "W-who are you? And...Where.... what... is this place?"
