DarkHeartedSorrows Arsenic, miraculously, was able to keep himself in check while seeing his sick brother, though his expression changed to that of the most worried creature ever. It seemed this was having more effect on Amador then he'd expected. ".. You won't have to come back to the pride, not until you're ready. But if you realize how much you two need to talk, send word with Dax and I will arrange a meeting somehow." Talos on the other hand, was just barely able to keep from getting sick. It took a lot of effort to force the bile in his throat back down, and he ended up looking drained and unwell. Glancing up at Amador, he knew this encounter would have to end soon or else they would both be lying in a heap, sick as all hell. Izzy Makani His features showed shame and his will to fight seemed to have left him along with last nights dinner. His eyes closed as Arsenic spoke and he almost looked like he would fall over right then and there. "Arsenic... Just take me to him... While there's nothing in my stomach and I'm to tired to argue. I've been sleepless since I left and I haven't kept down one piece of meat Altaria's fed me either. I'm barely standing right now. If I wait I won't be able to make the journey to talk to him." Dark x Deception Altaria's tail flicked as she awoke. Her body well rested, she looked around and noticed her mate's disappearance. "Amador?" She called out softly, still asleep. Getting up, she followed his scents to the rocks...just in time to see her mate puke and fall. Heart lurching, she ran toward him, almost tripping over her feet. Standing defiantly beside him, Altaria lightly placed her body over his, glaring at the other two lions. She was angry at them for making her beloved act this way, but said nothing. He would explain... Izzy Makani Amador was not surprised when Altaria appeared in fact he figured she'd show up soon. "Altaria... It's ok... I'm going to see Santos. I'm not getting any better my love. I'm getting worse. I can't keep anything at all down, not even water. I've got to get this straightened out." He nuzzled her cheek lovingly and purred. "I'm not going back to live but I need to talk to him. Maybe it will help me get better, get some sleep, and actually be able to eat and keep my meal." Dark x Deception Her glare softened as she looked toward her mate. "Y-You were sick? And you didn't tell me?!" Eyes were beginning to fluster with unshed tears. It was like he didn't trust her anymore...he didn't tell her anything anymore...Looking downward, she blinked a few times to get her tears back. Taking breaths, her glare turned to him. "When you speak to Santos, I'm coming." She commanded, no question in her voice. She was angry at him. She felt like he was going to be like Iro... Izzy Makani Amador's ears fell back and he had a guility look on his face. "I'm sorry my love. I didn't want to worry you with anymore of my troubles. I didn't want you getting sick along with me." He felt even worse now if that was possible. He hadn't thought that keeping his sickness from Altaria would upset her so. He had been trying to keep her worries to the min and it didn't seem putting his sickness on her shoulders would help do that. Dark x Deception Altaria sighed gently, look softening once again. She nuzzled against her mate's neck, saying nothing. "I better say it too...I've been suffering from depression...and I throw up my food after I eat it..." Eyes closed, she didn't dare look at him. "I thought...if I could share your burden...I would know you're pain...and help you..." Her ears lay flat against her skull as she kept close. Izzy Makani Amador looked completely shocked by his mates words. She'd been in depression?! He'd been so wrapped up in his own thoughts and memories he hadn't even noticed it. "My love... This isn't a actual burden, it's a torture session. I kept my sickness from you so you would not worry and would not fall ill as well. I know you want to help me darling but you're more help to me well." He told her as he nuzzled her cheek and licked her maw. "If you are well and smiling it helps me feel much better." ((Ok. Whoever wants to go next have at it.))

Arsenic had turned when Altaria appeared to speak with his nephew, uttering things so quietly even Talos had to ask him to repeat it sometimes. He used one paw as he spoke, making things a bit more visual, but no one would be able to tell what he was saying unless they heard it. With a nod he watched as Talos turned and rushed back towards the pride, flicking his tail approvingly.
He turned back to Amador and Altaria, looking no less worried than he had before. "I was going to speak with Nimbus, but I've passed everything I need to along with Talos so I may escort you back to father. He'll be happy to see you, but please, Brother, be kind and patient. You are not the only one who will have trouble gathering your thoughts when trying to speak." He turned his gaze to Altaria, nodding his approval of her coming, and set off in the direction of Rose Petal at a managable pace for someone ill like Amador.

Amador nuzzled Altaria's cheek once more before slowly standing and nodding to Arsenic without a word. He would do his best to be patient and kind but in all truth getting any reaction out of him but indifference was pretty much out of the question. Anything else required energy that he didn't seem to have anymore. As Arsenic started off Amador followed in a bit more of a weaving walking pattern. Even at the pace Arsenic was going Amador had a bit of trouble keeping up and he used Altaria to keep his balance as he walked but even then he was rather wobbly in the knees.

Altaria nuzzled her mate as they went. She kept him up and balanced, giving encouraging licks and nuzzles along the way. She hoped that this would be over with soon; Altaria doubted that Amador could take much more. He needed rest and food, but with his mind in a complete mess, how could he do that? She stared at Arsenic as they walked.

Arsenic tried to keep his expression blank as they went, but much like his father you could see everything in his eyes. He was afraid of what was going to happen. Amador had him almost overflowing with concern, he was afraid of what his parents' relationship would turn into since his mother hadn't talked to Santos since the incident, and he was the one running the pride currently alongside his brother since no one else was fit to which obviously made him nervous. He would be just as much a wreck as Amador if he hadn't been dealing with drama like this for so long.
His tail twitched as they finally passed the borders. Not too far into the lands Razi appeared, changing his pace to walk by Arsenic so they could talk to eachother. Arsenic asked Razi if father had eaten anything and looked relieved to hear that he had at least stepped out of the den for a drink of water, though he had appearently quickly retreated back to the den afterwards. "It's a start." He nodded. He quickly explained to his brother that Amador wanted to speak to Santos and hopefully things would be resolved. He also asked him to hunt for some small prey, for when this was over he wanted both Amador and Santos to eat.
This all happened in quick, hushed tones and before long Razi glanced at Amador with a sympathetic smile and was off. Arsenic then led them to the mouth of the den and called out before entering. "Father?"
Santos was curled in the dark, staring at the rocky wall of the cave. He couldn't think straight, everything thing was like a thick fog in his mind. With a deep sigh he rolled onto his back and watched the ceiling. He was a horrible father, he wasn't meant to be a king, and everything he did was wrong... He was nothing but a failure.
At the sound of Arsenic calling for him he let out a loud 'Mrrreh', which had served as his only way of communicating for the past while. It obviously meant enter, as it held no dangerous notes, just sorrow.

Amador didn't pay any heed to his brother Razi's appearance. His gaze and attention was centered on the ground and Altaria. If he'd tried to put it on anything else he would have in no doubt fallen to the ground. When they finally reached the den Amador waited next to Altaria until he heard Santos's acknowledgement of them being there.
When Santos gave it Amador stepped in, not sure if Arsenic or Altaria were beside him anymore, he lingered in the little light inside the den till his eyes adjusted and then he moved on into the darkness. He made his way slowly to Santos but he stopped as movement near the entry way of the cavern off from the main cave caught his attention. Adia was lingering just on the other side of the entrance, she'd been in the cavern feeding Rylee and Amarantha. She'd stopped on her way out, her gaze stuck on Amador her eyes almost not believing what she was seeing.
Amador's heart broke at the sight of Adia, her body was low to the ground in a submissive stance and in the darkness she looked fearful, angry, and almost evil. He had to tell himself mentally that she was just distressed, that was his mother and not some evil demon in her body, and she would be ok. Turning his gaze away from her so he wouldn't cry he started toward Santos again and stopped a few feet from him. Now he gathered his strength for what was going to be coming next, took a deep breath and spoke. "...Father?"

Altaria left Amador's side as her love walked to his father. Looking at Adia broke her heart; the once proud lioness didn't even seem like half of herself anymore. Letting Amador tend to his business, she walked over to Adia, tail and flakes low. "Adia..." She whispered, keeping a safe distance away from the mother and her cubs. "Adia...your son has come home. Everything will be better..." Her tones were soft and soothing, as she tried to creep closer to the Rose Petal Queen.

Adia's eyes went wide as Altaria started toward her. Every step Altaria made towards her, Adia made a step back. Soon Adia found herself against the back of the cave her youngest daughter stayed in. There was nothing about Adia that was herself. She was feral, frightened, and at times vicious. The closer Altaria tried to get the louders Adia's hisses got. Adia was glaring at Altaria now. She wasn't even trully seeing Altaria. All she saw was a lioness advancing that wasn't one of her children.

Arsenic's eyes widened and he dashed forward to place himself between Altaria and his mother. "Altaria step back!" His voice wasn't full of anger or command, it was pleading concern that drove him. He turned to Adia now, stepping towards her and nuzzling her, trying to block her veiw of Altaria, though Altaria was large and he was small, so it was rather difficult. "Calm down, Mom. Please." He pleaded with her.
Santos flipped on to his stomach so quick he got dizzy for a moment when he heard Amador. He couldn't believe his ears and when he saw him, he felt his eyes were decieving him too. "..Amador?!" He asked cautiously, almost more quiet than Arsenic usually was. He stood, backing up a bit, ears laid back. "This is some sort of dream..." He shook his head. Amador wouldn't come back... not after how he'd treated him. The only reason he thought Amador would come back was for some sort of revenge...

Altaria went wide-eyed with shock. This was certainly not the Adia she knew. Backing away quickly, she moved from Adia's line of sight toward the other side of the cave. She hid beside Amador, licking his chin. "Santos..." she whispered. "Amador came back. It's not a dream..." She said quietly. Suddenly, she felt caged in. This wasn't really her family; she had no one's support, save Amador's, if something were to happen between her and one of the Rose Petals. However, she couldn't leave; Amador needed her. So, she stayed close to him, her head resting on his maned neck.

Amador's ears fell back against his head at his fathers reaction. This had been a bad idea, such a bad idea... Altaria's licks to his chin brought him to remember why he'd come to do this. He'd come here to make things right so he could continue his life with her without feeling so... dead. "Father I am here. I am not a dream... This is not a dream." He was extremely glad that Altaria was there. Her touch kept him from running from the den as he so wanted to do. This was all so overwhelming... he felt sick even though there was nothing left for him to throw up.
Before Adia could react and attack Altaria Arsenic was upon her. She recognized him immediately as her own flesh and blood which was all she needed to calm. Even if Altaria had still been visible as she hid beside Amador Adia would not have cared for Arsenic was near. The presense of him or any of her older cubs would keep her for the most part calm. Moments after Arsenic broke her sight of Altaria she began to purr and nuzzle Arsenic's neck. "Arsenic... Arsenic... Arsenic.." She muttered his name over and over as she continued to nuzzle her head against his neck. Now she was kinder, calmer but still not herself.

Santos was crouched so low his stomach swept the cave floor. He looked so helpless, his ice-blue eyes were rimmed with the tears he was almost certain he had run out of. The movements of his sides as he fought to keep his breathing regular was fairly evident and he just wanted so much to dug into the stone under his paws and bury himself there. Certainly if this was no dream, Amador was here to get his revenge. He didn't even notice Altaria, his eyes were glued to his son.
Arsenic nuzzled his mother back, calm and honest. He muttered the words that he knew would help his mother everytime that she would say his name. It was rapid fire. "I'm here, Mom. I'll always be here. I won't leave. This is my home." He purred.

Amador's eyes held a sadness as he peered down upon his father. The sadness only deepened at the sight of his father crouched upon the floor, he looked as though he was fearful of getting struck and Amador didn't doubt that's what he thought he was going to do. Even if that had been his intent when he came here Amador knew he couldn't bring himself to do it. Pain always seemed to circle back around and harm the one who placed the pain upon the other, at least with them it did. Casuing more pain upon his father would more than likely place him with twice as much pain as he already had from being told to leave. He'd be dead if he added more pain to what he already had.
Slowly he sat down upon the den floor. "Please father get up. I'm not here to hurt you, I just want to know why. I want to hear what you have to say on the matter."
Adia couldn't stop herself, she cried into Arsenic's mane. She seemed to just break down and her whole body shook. She was letting out all the tears she'd held and hid. Even in the den away from where Amador, Santos and Altaria were she could still hear them and Amador's voice rung out clearly in her mind. It was him standing in the den. He was there. Adia leaned against Arsenic and continued to cry and allow the tears to flow.

Santos shook his head, refusing to stand. He couldn't really... He didn't have the strength anymore, mentally or physically, the old rose petal strength just wasn't there. And the way Amador's eyes just looked so saddened... It made him want to collapse right there. He'd caused that sadness... he'd put it there with his own cretinous anger. It was all his ******** fault.
Again he shook his head. "I...don't.. You..." He sighed and opened his mouth to try again. "I don't know why... I was angry, like... really angry. I could feel my eyes burning and I saw everyone there, but at the same time I didn't. I saw you... heard your voice.. but it just didn't register. At the time you were a threat to what I'd worked so hard to build. I'd tried so hard to make myself into something that I could throw in his face if he's alive... Make him see that he hadn't broken me..." Santos visably shuddered, 'him' meaning his father. "And when I saw you then... I knew that Iro could use you to help break all this.. You weren't just my son then.. you were a threat..." The tears flowed down his face now, crashing to the cave floor.
Arsenic winced as his mother started crying. He hated seeing anyone like this. "Everything is going to be alright, Mom. We're going to fix this... and everything is going to go back to the way it had been. We're going to be the strongest Pride... The strongest family. Us, Naida and Karonous's family, and anyone else in the pride, We'll be the most respected family, all of us." It was true. Arsenic knew that when these problems ended, the family just ended up that much closer together. And he knew this wasn't just a pride, cause it stretched beyond the pride's borders... This.. Rose Petal, and Heaven's Hopes, and the wandering rose petals united... they would forever be a family.

Amador didn't know what to say. He'd been a threat... to all his father had worked for? Wasn't he supposed to be a part of what he was working for? It hurt to think that in trying to protect, he was becoming the threat. "But... I would never allow Iro to use me or hurt anyone... I thought you knew that. I stepped forward to keep you from hurting him in your anger and in hopes that you would trust me to keep him at bay, away from Settia, and the cubs..." Amador glanced away from his father unable to look at him and keep his voice from breaking. "I felt like I was untrustworthy... That I wasn't even trusted enough to be around the pride at all. I couldn't stay between you and Iro since it seemed I needed to choose where my loyalties layed. When you told me that if I choose to protect Iro then I should consider not returning to the pride then I knew for sure you didn't trust me to handle things on both sides so I choose the side that needed me the most. Iro needs constant supervision to make sure he doesn't try to get back into the pride to get Settia's cubs. I don't want to be a threat to you but I am working to keep lives safe in my own way without having to hurt Iro, without having to fight at all. Can we put this behind us and work together as allies, as family to keep our families safe and without any blood shed?" Amador stand all of this as slowly as he could manage and as clear as he could manage which was hard considering how much his throat was trying to constrict on him.
Adia's crying seemed to slowly stop as Arsenic spoke and in the background of his voice Amador's could be heard as he spoke to Santos. With her face hidden in Arsenic's mane, her expression was hard to tell but her whole body slowly relaxed until she finally lifted her head from Arsenic's mane and she gazed into Arsenic's eyes. Her gaze held that of the old Adia, the loving mother, devoted queen, and caring mate. "Arsenic?" She said it in a tone that almost seemed like she'd just come out of a long sleep and she gazed around the cave they were in alone seeming almost lost. "Where's your father?"
