It'd been a couple days since Wahabu had been off on his own and looking to do something other than catch up on his sleep. He'd had a half-decent sleep the previous night, and he'd almost given up on the idea itself, so he was content to actually put his mind to searching for his old friend- just like he'd told Sheshe when he departed. It was a good distraction, though he was still going over the conversation he'd had with Sheshe in his mind. At least he was walking in the direction he might expect to find Kubwa, even if his mind wasn't quite on it.

With hardly a care in the world, Intombi strutted across the savannah as if she was on a cat walk at some fashion show. Her head was held ridiculously high, sky blue eyes sparkling, hair tuft flowing. She wasn't exactly watching where she was going, but it didn't matter. Wherever her feet were taking her, they were glowing with a just groomed sheen, the little pink marks standing out against the dirt and savannah grass. Even her tail was somewhat high, bobbing as she walked, the little tuft t the end flopping every which way with the light breeze. If her stance was high, her mind was even higher. Nothing could deflate the young lioness' mood at that point. Something grand had only just recently happened: she was officially a Pridelander.
Her meeting with the queen had gone off without a hitch. She was accepted, and with tht knowledge, had gone on her merry little way. Since then, as it had been several days, she had strutted just like this around the territory, grinning at any lion who happened to pass her path and hoping to come across one of her friends to share the news. Maybe Zu or Habu or Safuma... any of the three would do at that point. She just wanted to babble about how happy she was. As if on cue, a yellow figure caught her blue eyes. Intombi couldn't help but snort a little; she had just been thinking about that particular lion. Funny how life works out sometimes. Without another thought, she took off bounding up to the male, hardly able to contain her excitement. "Habu!"

Habu didn't need to think very hard to recall where he'd first met Kubwa, the trees they'd been climbing together- and conveniently they were in the direction his now-confirmed (at least to Habu) cousin Janja had pointed. There was no way he could get it wrong, and the yellow lion was starting to think he might have to wait awhile for his friend to show up- but with the way things were going, he would be quite content to hang around in one quiet place until he did show up. He was drawn very suddenly out of his plotting by a familiar voice calling out his name- and it took him only a couple seconds to recall which familiar voice it was.
"Intombi," he said when she reached him, smiling. With everything that was going on, he'd almost forgotten to keep an eye out for the lioness in case she had joined up, just as she said she would. It seemed like she'd stuck to her word.
"It's good to see you again."

Intombi beamed at the male. "Great to see you, too." She took a moment to look him over. It had been a little while since she had met him, and his mane had become fuller in that short time. She admired it for a few moments, before casting a glance around them. "Are you staying around here for long? I'd love to catch up." It was clear that she had calmed down some since their last meet up, though she was still glowing with energy. Every fiber of her being was at work, keeping her from shouting at the top of her lungs that she had finally joined the pride for real. She definately didn't want to scare Habu off, though, and wouldn't mind sitting down to have a little chat. He looked like he could use a bit of relaxation, anyway.
Not being able to stand the wait any longer, Intombi grinned big. "Guess what?! I've been accepted to the pride! I'm here for good now." She bounced a little as she said it, obviously very ecited about the whole thing. After meeting Habu she had gone home to tell her mother of her plans, and after spending a night at the family den, set out to accomplish her plan. It had taken a little while to track down and get time with the queen, but now that it was over, the juve knew darn well that it had been well worth the effort. She would be here for life now, which was something that was both exciting and comforting all at once. She looked forward to always having someone around to talk to, and was also happy that she'd never spend a few days without food like a rogue was accustomed to. Thngs would be good from here on in.

Almost immediately Habu was glad he'd managed to get some sleep the night before, deciding that if he was too tired or had been wanting to sleep the excitement would have been quite the shock- this was the first time in awhile something good was happening. Well, something exciting and not just good after you got over the shock or through the lies and sneaking.
"I can stick around," he said cheerfully, taking a seat to emphasize his willingness to stay and catch up, as she had put it. It was very, very clear that she had something she wanted to say- and he barely got to finish the thought before she was bouncing and announcing her membership in the pride.
"That's great! I figured it would be so when I next saw you," he said with a grin on his face as well, "Not too much trouble, was it?"

"No trouble at all." After bouncing around for a few more moments, Intombi seemed to have emptied her energy stores and plopped down next to Habu. She sighed deeply before continuing. "The queen is very nice. I need to track down one of her daughters... Mzuza, you might know her? Last time we met I hadn't the foggiest that she was a princess. Not that it matters much, but it's just nifty." The young lioness shrugged her shoulders. Having been raised away from royalty, she still didn't have a handle on what made the titles so important. To her, the little brown cub she had met was still the same as every other cub in the pride, even if Zu did seem to have a higher place in the hierarchy. Perhaps one day, after spending a couple of years basking in the Prideland's protection and warmth, Intombi might understand the whole royal thing. Until then, though, the only thing that made them different was that she had to talk to Kami to join. Other than that, she couldn't come up with anything else. In her mind, it didn't affect her, so it wasn't all that important.
With a content look on her face, Intombi flipped her little hair tuft off to the side of her eye and nodded to herself. Now that she had gotten that very important piece of news off her chest, she was relaxed enough to truely appreciate the changes in Habu. He had grown a bit stronger, it seemed, a bit larger. His mane was quite impressive, at least to a female who would never have anything that spectacular. Her eyes sparkled as she gave him a quick look over and realized that he wasn't too shabby at all, and was actually attractive with those blue bands and different colored eyes. "So how have things been on your end, buddy?" Her life had been absolutely wondeful, but there was something about him that said his had been otherwise.

"What did I tell you?" he said with a small laugh when she said how nice the queen had been. Habu had always been certain that she would not have had any trouble in joining, it seemed that no one ever did. He was glad of it, actually- it made the whole pride more welcoming to know that they didn't turn down those seeking to join often, if at all.
"I don't think I've met a Mzuza, but I'll keep my eyes out- I did meet your friend Noyana after all," he said with a slight shrug, recalling Intombi's questioning about the other yellow lioness and then the discussion about twins when he'd finally met her for himself. That had been before everything else started to happen all at once. He gave a small, somewhat forced smile when asked how things have been for him. It didn't seem right to vent on someone he'd only really met once, but she had asked and it had most certainly been building up.
"Overwhelming," he started with a completely serious tone of voice before he ellaborated in a much simpler tone, "My family- well, there's just so many things going on with it. You have a small family- mine's just increased in size in many surprising ways. I have cousins, for starters- and an aunt to go with them. My sister is back, and she has a mate. My father has a new mate- none of them are telling me anything. My cousins met me by accident, my sister found me by accident and my father still hasn't told me why Sheshe is living with us now- she told me." Wahabu was rambling, and he realized how true it had been to say his family life had become overwhelming.

"Mm, you were right." She nodded pleasantly. Her eyes brightened even more, if that were at all possible, when he mentioned Noyana. "Oh, did you? How is she? I need to track her down..." She felt a little guilty, having not seen her friend in some time. Now that she was a full member of the pride, she really had a reason to track the yellow juve down to share the news. She was sure the other female would be excited. They were quite different, really, when she thought about it. Noyana was quite the tomboy, and Intombi simply wasn't. Maybe that was why they had gotten along, though? It was said that opposites attract, though Intombi didn't usually agree with it.
Intombi's mood was visibly altered as Habu went on about how stressful life had been for him. Her life had been so pleasant lately, but his obviously hadn't been. She felt sorry for him, an reached out a paw to gently touch his as he went on for some sort of comfort. "That's a lot to deal with. I'm sorry things aren't to hott right now for you." She stared at him for a few moments, unsure of what to say. "Maybe they meant to tell you eventually? I kept my mom in the dark about my wish to join the Pridelands until the night before I set out to do it. I just didn't want to bother her with it." She gave a half hearted grin, trying to make the situation sound better than it was. "Is Sheshe at least nice?" She couldn't really imagine any lion not being nice, as she had never met a mean spirited soul, but she had heard of those out there who were in a perpetually bad mood.

Habu only offered her a small shrug in response to her questions about Noyana, his mind off on another track now that he'd been rambling about his family now. He didn't much care for how drastically he'd changed her mood, but was glad that she stuck with him despite the obvious damper he'd put on things. When she apologized and hesitated, Wahabu knew there wasn't a great deal else she could say about it all and understood the silence.
"It's just one thing right after the other, and it's all compounded by the fact that I haven't been sleeping well lately," he murmurded and rolled his eyes at that particular fact, wishing there was something he could do to get rid of his maniacal visions- at least get back to the calm, care-free and occassional onces he'd had in his cubhood.
"I suppose they'd have to tell me someday, it's not like you can hide your own presence here, especially if you're family. As for dad and Sheshe, well, I'd find out eventually- especially if they decided to have cubs," he murmured, trailing off at the idea- not really having faced that possibility yet. He shook the thought away, and looked at Intombi thoughtfully, "Sheshe is very nice, right now I'd even say I trust her more than I trust my father. She's been more straightforward and honest with me.."

"It's a lot for anyone to deal with, Habu." She nodded sympathetically. She really wasn't sure what she'd do in his situation. She wasn't close to her family, so if her mom got a new mate she wouldn't be bothered. Her brother... she hardly knew him anymore. Whatever he did with himself didn't affect her life in any way. But this wasn't about her, she reminded herself. It was about a very friendly lion who didn't deserve to be this stressed out. "You haven't been getting sleep? That's a shame. Is it because of everything that's been happening?" An eventful week could keep her from getting a good night's rest sometimes. With all the stress he was currently dealing with, it wouldn't be surprising if it was keeping him awake.
She cocked her head a little at the mention of cubs. There seemed to be quite te abundance of them in the pride recently. Intombi was fond of them, and enjoyed shepherding them around until they had to go home to thier mothers. It was like some grand game. If her mom had another litter, she'd be excited. Habu didn't seem all that pleased with the idea, though. Maybe he didn't like cubs. For some reason, that didn't make her very happy. "It's good that you get along with her, then. Maybe you'll really like her after a while. At least she's honest with you. This might be the start of a great friendship, you know." She looked at him pleasantly, trying to cheer him up a bit.

Wahabu was very well aware of the fact that Intombi was not as close to her family as he was to his, and it made him even more grateful at how sympathetic she was being about it all. It'd be easy to brush off if you didn't really understand, but she wasn't doing that. That was a good reason to smile, he decided- and almsot laughed when asked if it was just the stress that was keeping him awake, and shook his head before he thought about what to say. He did realize, luckily, that explaining about his being a seer would not be a good thing to try to do right now. She'd probably think he'd lost it.
"Nightmares," he said hurriedly as an explanation, "I don't suppose everything's helped much, though."
He didn't realize how his commenting might have been taken, and decided he didn't want to think about the idea of them having cubs right away. If it happened, it would happen but it hadn't occured to him before now. And Intombi was quite right, it was good that he was at least getting along with Sheshe.
"You're right, I'm lucky we get along so well," he said with a nod, "I just wish my father was more honest about it, or had even mentioned the idea before she suddenly was brought home. But there's not much I can do about it."

Suddenly taken on a very motherly attitude, Intombi squinted at Habu, looking him over as best she good from her position. Lack of sleep caused by anything wasn't really all that healthy, and it had obviously taken its toll on the poor male. She frowned somewhat, tempted to rush him home to his den and sit there until he fell asleep, but decided against it. At least for now. It seemed to her that it was more important to let him get as much stress out through talking before even attempting to fall asleep. Besides, he must've been out her for a reason. Who was she to rush him back from where he had come from, right back to his father and this Sheshe character? "I'm sorry. That must be horrible." She truely meant what she said, and even screwed up her face a little thinking about it. Not only was it not healthy, but it didn't help Habu in the looks department. He was an attractive lion under all that sleep deprivation, but beauty needs sleep. She had half a mind to prod him about the nightmares, but saved it for later in the conversation instead.
"Yes, that's understandable. I'd want the same thing if I were you." She nodded her agreement, not wanting to simply brush off Habu's stress about his father by saying how lucky he was that this new girlfriend was nice. "If he's any good, he'll come around, though. Maybe he was afraid to tell you, y'know? Worried about what you might say and stuff. I'm sure he's fond of you, Habu. It's natural to not want someone you're fond of to think poorly of you." She said everything as softly and gently as she could, not at all wanting to sound as if she thought Habu was in the wrong. She was just simply trying to help him reason out what was going on and perhaps help the situation if she could at all. She really didn't like seeing the male in such a sad state, but was very pleased to see smiles pop in here and there. It made her warm and fuzzy inside.

Wahabu looked at Intombi as she studied him and frowned a little bit, replying only with a small and sheepish smile. He felt a rush of grattitude for Intombi's listening to the ravings of a tired and frustrated lion, and even offering some sympathy and advice. It'd been quite awhile before he really felt like he had a good friend; Kubwa and K'A weren't around, though they both had good reasons as the first apparently had a son now and the other was a god. With everything else that was going on, that one bright realization made it all a little easier.
He nodded along with what Intombi suggested, everything she said was logical. Kizamaji would tell his son everything in his own time, especially now that Sheshe would tell him that she'd already said something about it. It was just disappointing to think maybe he and his father weren't as close as he thought, or maybe hoped. Quite suddenly he was reminded of his mother, and the secret she had kept from him- but he pushed that from his mind. Habu was being careful not to mention gods or anything that might make him seem loopier than necessary around Intombi just yet.
"Thank you," he said finally, "I'm sorry for ruining your happy news with all of this, I'm glad you're going to be around here all the time."

"Oh, it's no problem! You didn't ruin anything. I'm not happy that you aren't doing so great and all, but it's great to see you again, and really... there's no way you could make me unhappy about joining the pride." She nodded reassuringly quickly afterwards. "I'm glad I'm going to be around all the time, too. I'll get to see you more." After that one, she winked playfully, flicking her tail lightly as she did so. Despite the joking manner, she really was happy at the prospect of seeing Habu more than just every once in a while. Just as long as he was a bit happier after a while, though. She really didn't like seeing him like this. He definately needed sleep. Again, the thought of shepherding him back to the den with his father and Sheshe popped into her mind. If she didn't get to do that later, she'd have to track down this Sheshe and talk to her about making the yellow male sleep more often. Maybe they could bar him from leaving the den. She smirked a little at the thought.
"So has it been all bad lately or is at least something looking up? Even if all that crud is going on, there's gotta be something good going on, right?" She smiled hopefully, certain that if he thought long enough, he could come up with at least one thing that wasn't dreary. She'd yet to meet a lion who's life was compeltely rotten. Then again, she'd also yet to truely encounter a generally mean or nasty anything. Nearly an adolescent and old enough to hunt for the pride, it could be a shocker to some that she was still so naive about how things worked out in the real world. Especially having been raised a rogue, it wouldn't have been off the wall to think she would've had her fair share of bitterness. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The meanest creature she had ever met was a leopardess who didn't particularly like lions. She had been a cub back then, though, so the adult had been somewhat indifferent.

"Ruined the mood, I think," he pointed out simply, and couldn't help but smile at her reassurances that there wasn't much he could do to make her unhappy. It really had been quite some time since Habu felt so close to someone, and the more they talked the more he realized it and the more cheerful he became. He could have nightmares and be kept in the dark about near everything, but he had a friend. It just looked like he'd have to adjust to his new family, and make the most of it. Sleep was something less simple to fix, though.
"I'm quite sure this has been the best morning in awhile," Habu said brightly when she asked if anything was good, "It's certainly good to hear you're doing so well. And I guess it's good that Kubwa isn't missing anymore, even if he didn't come tell me himself.."
Wahabu had to go confront his friend sometime soon, but this was much more pleasant than that was bound to be. Or, so he thought for now while he could still feel angry about it.
