RULES!
1. Only angels may actually fight. Please, no Deus fights. 2. Obey all Battle Rules and regulations! 3. No GOD MODING!!! You will be immediately disqualified from your current battle and possibly a few future ones if you try this. So don't. 4. Go by what the numbers say. If we roll and you get hit...take the hit. Don't try and dodge it. It will only waste time and piss the staff off. 5. DO NOT CREATE YOUR OWN LAYERS! At the moment, we have one person to over see the battles so 16 battles can't be going on at the same time. There is a set number of layers. Put in a request and you will be put on a waiting list till your time comes. 6. RPing is not only allowed but encouraged as long as it is your battle. 7. NO SPECTATORS! If you aren't battling then you shouldn't be posting. Feel free to read the battles but please, do not post if you are not battling!!! 8. The angel you are entering MUST be at the Basic Angel stage (or higher) and it must have undergone training!!! Jade will let you know when your training is complete and you can enter battles.

FAQ
Q: I want to battle!!! Why can't I just make a new layer? A: Because in the real world you have to wait your turn. There will be a set number of layers and you will be assigned to one when your turn comes. While we may add more layers later, you can not create one yourself.
Q: How do we battle? A: You RP it out then your referee (99% of the time this will be Jade) will do the random number generating in the thread where you can watch. This is the order of how a battle works... - Player 1 RPs an attack - Jade rolls for speed (1 - whatever their speed stat is) - Jade rolls for agility (1 - whatever the agility stat of their opponent is) - Agility - Speed. If the number is less then 5 it hits. If not then it misses and it becomes Player 2's turn. - If it hits....Jade rolls for Strength. (1 - whatever their strength stat is) - Jade rolls for Defense (1 - whatever the defense stat of their opponent is) - Defense - Strength = damage dealt. - Health - Damage - At the end of all this, whether the attack hits or not, Jade will declare the Health of each angel and direct who's turn it is next.
Q: What happens if Agility - Speed = a negative number? A: You scored a Dire Hit! That means that your Strength role is taken directly from your opponents health.
Q: What happens if Agility - Speed = 0? A: Wow, you scored a critical hit! That means your strength stat is taken directly from their health points! (100% damage)
Q: I really want _____ to win! Why can't I post that for support? A: Because it's distracting, takes up room, and may confused whoever is on the Arena Mistress account to do that battle.
Q: How much should I RP my attack? A: As much as you want. You can go into a lot of detail or simply state a sentence of what your angel is doing. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOUR POST VERY LONG! This is a battle, not a novel, so please get to the point without turning it into a an epic poem.
Q: What attacks can I use? A: Anything basic...jumps, kicks, punches....simple fighting moves. They can also use any Special Attacks that appear on the cert and that they have mastered in training.

What would Jane be posting each roll? And wouldn't that be a lot of posts? I mean, take the example in the sticky, if you dealt 2 damage or so each time, that's like 10 moves....with Jane doing so many rolls. Wouldn't that get out of hand and difficult to RP around? Sorry if these are obvious questions, this is just my first battling pet.

First of all...it's Jade. wink
Secondly...that's how it works. I can't combine rolling numbers. You can only roll once when you post. I could do it in another thread and just post the results but then it's harder for the players to double check and make sure I didn't make a typo. (I am human). Also, that was an example. Angels will not always do 2 damage. In the show, they used to miss A LOT. So that's how it works. If it's a lot of posts...then that's just because there has to be...and people should enjoy battling (no matter how many rounds) since that's the point of this shop really. stressed

Gah....typo!
Too true, and I wouldn't ask you to be a [insert random creature here]. But like I said, never been in a battling B/C before...
But still, I can't help but long for some sort of program you said someone was coming up with. But, in the meantime, I'll just have to see how this works.

That program is being worked on by Harley's husband but they have more important things to do right now then make a free battle system for us. stressed So if it gets done it will be whenever David (her husband) has time and feels like doing it.

Hopefully the battle system will be up sometime this year. But that's all up to David.

In lieu of making so many posts for each round (what, eight per person, per round? D: ), you could use this. It's a dice rolling utility that lets you dictate how many dice, and what kind (including customs, like 7 sided, for a stat of 7.) I know it's D&D, but it could still be useful and save a bunch of time, yes?

*nods* That could work. Just as long as people don't care that I'm just doing the rolls and they can't see them. The unique dice there is what I'm looking at....

I don't personally mind, and I don't think the others would either.

I have a question. =/
What would happen in a battle such as Light/Speed versus Heavy/Defense?
What I mean is: What will happen if your Angel is fast enough to hit, but not strong enough to actually deal damage?
Doesn't it seem kinda unfair to be completely unable to win?
Oh, and a separate question: What's the difference between a critical Hit and a Dire Hit? They both read the same to me. ._.

First of all, they will do damage. I figured this out in test battles and such. They will do very little damage, but they'll do damage. Which is how a real battle would work. More then once in the show a light/speed would hit a heavy/power and do no damage but they eventually would. It is fair and true to the show.
Dire hit = we still roll. So if your Strength stat is 21, you may do less damage (like 12 or 14) but it won't be blocked so their defense won't be subtracted. Critical hit = Strength isn't rolled, it's your pure strength stat. So if it's 21, then you hit for 21.

Ah, okay, I think I get it.
And when you say they'll do some, do you mean a minimum of 1? Or like, every second hit does 1? @_@ *Easily confused at 4.30am*
