So, what do you guys think of the new Gaia layout? Personally, out of all the updates they've done, this is the one I'm happiest with. The first time was just ugly. The second time was slightly better. The third time was too complicated. The fourth time got rid of useful icons. Finally this time though, they seem to have done a decent job. The layout is easy on the eyes and not too busy, and has a nice relaxing, community feel to it. more space for the avatar is nice, adn I like how you can get to almost every important part of the site from any page now; it's convenient. Only complaints I have are the new Daily Chance thing... it's pretty lame and isn't really an improvement from the last one. It's not that ugly, speeding purple now, but it's also not as noticable, and it still does taht blasted thing where it gives you a stupid little popup you have to click out of. Only other complaint is how unnoticeable it is when you get new PMs. I hope they switch that back to where they give you announcements and stuff.

I haven't been on Gaia long enough to see all the changes. But I've seen a few.
I like this one better also, even if I haven't adjusted myself I think it's very pretty and I like the color schemes and such, I like how my avi is up in the little city. That's cute. It'd be cute if we could have friends up there with us or something... *shrug* but it is very nice. I think the Daily Chance thing is cute, and not as annoying - doesn't make much difference though.
Yea, PM's aren't as noticable. I don't get why it doesn't pop up next to your avi? But maybe that is something they are working on. ^^
Overall, it's not bad. =3

I like it. It's a bit confusing when I'm like "okay... wait... where'd the button go???" But I'm getting the hang of it.
But my profile seems to randomly act up. Stuff that's supposed to be on the right ends up way at the bottom on the left, near the siggy part. ?_?
I don't know if that has anything to do with the new layout or not...
And I can't wait for the battle system. I hope it get's really good, though, cause right now it's looking a little lame. But I'm sure, just like how gaia's been growing and growing since it was go-gaia.com that the battle system will grow as well.

Hmm, you use new profile system, right? Sorry, I couldn't help you then... the new way of doing profiles confuses me, so I just use my old one. XD;;
And I hope the Battle System isn't as much of a let-down as Towns were...

No way, Kitsune! The battle system has to be better than the towns! O_O
I can't wait either. I'm sure it'll be fun! Plus, even if it does suck - apparently we get items and swords and stuff out of it. Which is pretty neat, I'm a sucka for free items. And I always wanted a sword, but a katana has been too pricy for me.
I use the new profile systems. But the coding for my account 'about me', part got messed up.... and I've been too lazy to fix it. At least, it got messed up during the last Gaia change. I haven't tried to change my profile since this new one though.

Oh, you mean where it goes from bbcode to html code? I HATE when it does that. I just have to keep messing around with my profile.
Hrm...I wish we could actually interact with the furniture we buy for our house...

Yea, I wish we could do that too. I had a prettiful Egyptian house and then all the furniture went out of it and now I can't fix it! BLEH. Gaia can be retarded sometimes...

Speaking of Gaia being retarded, it seems to be lagging quite a bit today... I hope it's just Gaia getting used to the updates and not my computer... XD;; Other sites didn't seem to be going slow though...
@Akila: I'd offer you my katana except I'm quite attached to it. XD;;; Good thing I got it when it was still less than 20k... I probably should've gotten two, seeing how much the price went up... well, you can always get the Sword of Aegis or whatever it is! razz
And my profile has *never* messed up from an update... guess it's another advantage of using the old profile system. Once you get the hang of a bit of coding, they're really much simpler to make than with the new profile system... not to mention they look neater, and all the info you need is easy to find. Sorry, but I really just don't like the new profile system... I really did try it, but I couldn't stand it... ^^;;

I'm just not good at codes. Simple html and bb is great, but codeing an entire profile page from scratch is HARD s**t. But you're probably talking about modifying an already existing profile code? Or perhaps using a profile code as a base and building up from there? I think that might be easier, but I've never tried it. Plus I like the new profile system.
Yeah, my house manked up as well. I call it the anti-tacky device. I've got medieval stuffs, gothic stuffs, nitemare stuffs, honorable/Japanese stuffs, and other stuffs, and I tried to add egyptian to it... No dice. It'll lock and say 'error' so I can't do it.

Yeah, I'm not good enough to make a profile page from scratch, so I found a page in the help forums that gives you basic codes for different things for you to manipulate yourself. I also used a Tektek code as a reference, though I didn't actually directly manipulate it. It's really a lot easier than it sounds; I've been doing similar coding for about five years now... where you just edit something to make it how you want. (that's how I did all my stuff on Neopets, though it was a lot more mediocre than my Gaia profile) I can't wait 'till I'm good enough to do stuff from scratch so I can my my Gaia profile less plain though. ^^

I like it. It's easy to access parts of the site, which is a definite plus. I don't really notice when I have mail, but I was always appallingly slow at responding anyway, so it does give me an excuse.

@Marik: Well I had never been taught *anything* when I started on Neopets, and I wasn't even a teenager, so it really shouldn't be that hard...
