Another day.

Kweu'Chaka ambled through the tall grass as his brilliant, cerulean blue orbs scanned across the pridelands. He was slightly tired, he could feel it. His eyes felt slightly heavy as his paws trudged upon the ground as his mind seemed to ramble. It was strange to think that he was now an adult-where did time fly? His body was significantly larger than the cub he once was as he was now a very large adult with a stature that was noted that he looked a lot like his biological father. He didn't mind it- his attitude was more on the lines that he was himself; he may look like the male who had won his mothers heart and fled but, in truth, 'Chaka was simply 'Chaka.

A small song began to form in his head as he imagined the beat clearly, the rhythem and the tone echoing within his mind and accompanied by the sounds of the Pridelands. A smile curled upon his maw as he began to sing softly.

"Tired of this repetition
Over and over
And not getting closer
To where I want to go."

Kweu suddenly leapt up upon a rockface and puffed his chest out proudly as his mane whisped within the cool, morning breeze and began to sing a bit louder.

"And they say
All we need is luck
But no all you need is love!"

His head rocked from left to right several times as he leapt down from atop the rock and began romping in the grass as his paws were tapping to the imaginary beat, body swaying side to side as he continued rocking his head. He couldn't stop it- it felt so good to sing, so good to let loose and have fun!

Too bad Tui or Ayato weren't around.

"A little love, a little love is all it takes
A little love, a little love
it's never too late.
A little love, a little love and faith
A little love, a little love is all it takes
A little love, a little love
it's never too late-aaaaate, yeaaaah!
A little love, a little love
A little love, a little love and faith."

He was liking the sound of this song; 'Chaka couldn't help but grin a bit wider as he chuckled softly to himself and shook his head as he continued strolling about and humming the tune to himself. Where he wanted to go- well, Kweu'Chaka didn't have a clear idea.

At this point it was simply destination anywhere.

Isilo'Ilangabi was bored today, so bored, she was tired and bored and she could not find Ruffian around anywhere! She had grown taller, she noticed it, her legs were longer just as her tail was, but it wasn't a cool tail yet, still too fluffy all the way around instead of just being fluffy at the tip.

Darned.

She was coming into her own, she was becoming a lioness, she wanted to find love and have little cubs someday, like her mommy and daddy, but she wasn't sure if all the big lions would like her since she was still so much smaller.

Darned.

Isilo wanted something cool to happen..yes, most definitely.

Already the heat was begining to soar and Kweu flicked his ears back as he pursed his lips. He needed shade, he needed to cool off and some food if he was lucky enough. Slowing down as he meandered about as his humming continued, the male jerked his head slightly to the right as his pale yellow mane swept out of his eyes and cleared his view.

He smiled.

Straight ahead was several trees accompanied by a small watering hole that was vacant at the moment. That would certainly provide cool shade and water to quench his morning thirst.

Picking up his pace with a trot, Kweu'Chaka couldn't help but sway his body with a light swagger as he found another tone to plauge his mind and he couldn't help it. He had certainly found a love for singing (though he hadn't quite told his other brothers or his mother) but he enjoyed it. Although he was adventurous, protective and held a big heart- 'Chaka was also compassionate, understanding and kindly. He was quite the lion.

"I don' mind fallin' down I'll try again
'Cuz when I get back up on my feet
I make the music stop!
So hear me now,
every bridge we cross is burnin' down
Don' fear me now," he sang moreso to himself once again.

"Brothers, sisters, listen up!
I gotta a little secret that
they're never gonna stop us
or we'll burn them down."

Coming towards the watering hole, Kewu sank down upon his haunches and lowered his maw into the water for a drink. The cool waters rushing into his parched mouth were soothing and it definately made him feel better. Lifting his head upwards, his ears flicked.

He thought something else was around but- well, he was imagining things.

Kweu lowered his head back down and continued to drink.

Bright emerald orbs settled on something quite bright by the water hole, well, bright and pale. Tilting her head she padded towards the figure in a zigzag pattern, eyes focused at all times. She wanted to see what it was, who it was, maybe they would be her friend, maybe it was another lion to befriend!

Yes, more friends!

"Hey you!" she exclaimed, bounding towards the...him, rather fast now, a smile on her maw as she continued along, almost crashing into his legs but sliding into the water with a splash. "Hey, hey, who're you?"

His ears flicked slightly- head bobbing slightly as he hummed and continued to drink yet the sound of...footsteps? Kweu shrugged his shoulders and lifted his head slightly. He didn't see anything or anyone for that matter, so it really wasn't a threat by any means. But it seemed that he was wrong and a sudden voice seemed to exclaim and cause his body to jerk slightly.

Kweu'Chaka never was one who liked being caught off guard.

Narrowing his orbs, 'Chaku watched as a small figure seemed to dart towards him- nearly crashing into his legs but suddenly splashing into the water and causing a shower to spray up into his lowered face. His ears pinned against his head as he backed several steps away and shook his mane.

"Wha-....who?" He blinked several times as he stared blankly at the small jackal. "I-I'm Kweu'Chaka."

'Chaku took a step forward as he knitted his brows.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Isilo'Ilangabi," she stated firmly, planting her paws against the ground, raising her head high, puffing out her chest a bit and swaying her tail a few times as a silly grin was placed on her maw, "I'm the best lioness there is," she said with a nod of confirmation. She was strange, perhaps forever strange. "I live here with my family, do you live here too? You look very cool, not as cool as Ruffian though she's like, my best friend ever."

She raised a paw and pointed her nose at the darker-black stripes, "See the black? The black represents her, she's my best friends and the coolest ever, the black represents the coolness I get from her, the red is me, my eyes are my mommy, and the blue is my daddy, and my heart is my siblings...see?"

She was proud, a proud, proud lioness.

Kweu stood there and blinked. Wow- long name and he didn't exactly catch all of that no matter how much he tried. Blinking several more times as he swayed his tail behind him, the lion shook his stray, tapered pieces of mane from his eyes and studied the jackal. "I'm just gonna call you Isilo- it's easier to remember," he gave a small laugh as he rocked back upon his haunches but seemed to fall silent momentarily.

Wait-

Did she say 'lioness'?

He wasn't going to point that out that she wasn't a lion- that would be mean. He'd simply accept it and not crush her belief. He was too kind and compassionate to smother her own belief in what she was and he certainly didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. Instead he smiled wide and rumbled softly.

"I'm sure you are. Uh- yeah, I live in the Pridelands but I'm more a wanderer or a vagrant along with my two brothers."

At the compliment, the male gave a small sheepsih smile as he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not cool- I'm just me; just Kewu. And Ruffian? I don't think I know here. I take it she's lives here too?" This was strange, strange indeed but he didn't mind it so much.

As she pointed to the symbolism upon her body of the different hues and their representation, 'Chaka looked closer as he nodded his head. He wished he had some symbolisim that was in depth and beautiful but, again, he was himself and there was another part of him that he didn't exactly tell everyone he met but, this time, he didn't mind it so much since his looks were in representation of one person who wasn't in his life nor had he ever met him.

His biological father.

"My mom says that I am an exact replica of my father- she even named me after him but I've never met him." He gave a simple shrug of his shoulders and smiled.

"I may look like him but I'm making my own legacy and I'm not like him."

"Okay thats fine Kewu," she said with a large grin, and ear to ear smile as he green eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Swaying her tail she nodded, "Yea, me and my family, we live here, we're like a special kind of lion that only lives here," she said with a nod, "Its a long story, but my mom and dad are lions too!" Swaying her tail she watched him, and sat back as well, almost as if mimicking him.

"Yea, yea she lives here, awesome lioness, I want to be just as cool as she is," she said with a nod, and a curling of her tail around herself. Her tail still wasn't a cool tail yet...darn.

"Making your own legacy must be fun yea? Well your nice, I like you."

"Well isn't that to be expected that your parents are lions too if you're a lioness?" He commented with a grin spread across his maw as he slinked down to his stomach, a bit more eye level with the jackal-lioness as he crossed his forepaws and curled his tail around him.

"Cool, huh? That's something I need to work on; a sense of adventure, thrill and courage needs some room for fun- eh, but we can't be like everyone sometimes or else we'll lose what makes us unique from everyone else. Sometimes that's even better than being cool," he added with a wink as he ruffled his paw atop her maw and smiled.

"Heh, I like you too, Isilo."

Isilo's ears perked forward and she smiled and wagged her tail behind her as she sat. Anticipation was getting the better of her, Kewu was so nice, and he liked her, and she liked him! This was so great, hmm, could he be her prince charming like her daddy was to her mommy? Maybe! He DID say he liked her!

"Kewu," she said shyly, taking a step forward, turning her head away a little but, she was going to ask him to be hers but...then she'd be greedy, that wouldn't be good! Her mind stopped and she took a step back, embarrassed by what she was going to say.

He probably would've said no anyway...

Obviously Kweu didn't know that saying he liked her had translated to Isilo into the meaning of 'I love you' or something along those lines. In truth, the young adult was simply kind and had a big heart- tossing a compliment when he really meant it, the jackal-lioness was very nice and sweet, was natural but it seemed that it meant more than a simple statement and seemed to communicate a possibility of something much, much, more.

Although he was oblivious to all of this, naturally.

The creamy, pale yellow male rolled onto his side as he withdrew his paw from atop her head and gave a great yawn. As she spoke his name, his ears perked upwards as his blue eyes curiously narrowed towards her.

"Hm? What's up?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 12, 2007 7:03 pm

Isilo flinched a bit when he said her name, and she took a step back, if her pelt wasn't not red he would be able to see the blush on her cheeks. She shook her head, "No, its nothing, nothing at all," she said with a slight nod. This was awkward now, very, very quite awkward.

"This is nice Kewu but I should...I should go..." with that she turned around and padded off, a blush on her cheeks that made her feel hot.

This had been awkward, quite awkward...

Isilo was so confused.

Kweu bit his lower lip as he watched her pad off so suddenly- his creamy, yeloow ears flicked with a perplexing confusion. Had he dont' something wrong or said something to offend her? Maybe he made her feel uncomfortable? Kewu'Chaka wasn't sure at all but simply gave a soft sigh as he rose upwards and shook himself off.

"See ya around, Isilo," he called out a bit softly as he pivoted around and began wandering back into the depths and heart of the Pridelands.
