I've been keeping up with the construction of the National Aquatics Center (the "water cube") and the Olympic Stadium (the "bird's nest"). Heard something about the stadium being finished one year ahead of schedule.
BTW, the 2008 Olympic emblem looks good. (But London's 2012 logo, errr....)

I'm excited about it. Olympics only come once every four years after all...
Why would people boycott the event? Just because it's going to be held in China?

<!-- It's a huge source of national pride in China right now, so I'd be disappointed if half the world didn't show up just because it was held in China. neutral I would love to go, but I don't know if I would be able to scrounge the money together because I will be starting college next year, and it would be more expensive than a local vacation. -->

Cool. A thing that I learned about it though was that they're not on schedule right now, so they're rushing construction. :S Hope it still turns out okay.

I don't understand. Why would so many countries want to boycott this year's Olympics? Or has this been going on for a long time now (every time the Olympics are on) and I just never noticed it??? confused
