Laini scowled at the jungle as she reached its borders to where the land became savanna again. It was always so muggy that she could barely stand crossing through it from the hidden pride within to the savanna without. However, she wasn't quite yet situated to pride life, as much as she liked belonging to something. She looked out carefully from the undergrowth before emerging, frowning as her large belly rubbed against said undergrowth. Last time she had come out here, this had happened to her ...and she wasn't happy about it. She had let herself play the fool and was feeling the punishment. Laini was stronger than that.
She padded her way over to a lone acacia tree and flopped down, preceding to groom her forepaw like a house cat. Goodness, it was hot out here too.

A young lioness was traveling over the savannah lands. She was cream colored and white and melted in pretty well with the area she was walking in. Her brown eyes scanned the area for other creatures just to make sure there was no danger nearby. Pona was an adult lioness with a childish smile on her face she had always loved adventure and hope something new would happen everyday.
Ok now to get some shade she said to herself...sure her coat was light but the sun was a big killer today she had to get some shade for a while. Then she noticed she was pretty much near the jungle since the plants that was growing started to look more green and she decided that was a great place for a rest and maybe a drink?
She hurried her steps some towards the jungle area.

Laini prided herself heavily for being an expert huntress. She prided herself on being able to take down the biggest and the best (except for Rhinos and Elephants of course). However, she did not notice Pona approaching the jungle nearby. Perhaps it was because she was too busy moaning and groaning, cleaning herself, or, the gods forbid, losing her touch.
She swished her tail in an annoyed fashion and flopped hard onto her side. Her vision blurred before righting itself, giving her a clear view. A lioness? Here? She quickly sat back up. "Hey," she tried to cry out to demand why this foreign lioness was here. However, her voice failed her from its lack of use.

Pona strutted happily in the same direction and didn't really notice another lioness since she was green and melted in pretty well with the jungle area. She just wanted to hurry and get out of the sun. She slinked in under the nearest tree she could find but she still hadn't noticed the other lion since she slinked in under the opposite of the tree.
She sat down and looked around...she was just happy to find a nice resting spot for now. She flicked her tail a little and started to groom herself.

What was that lioness thinking? Laini swore the other lioness noticed her, swore they had made eye contact. So what did this lioness think, crawling under the opposite side of this large tree without saying hi?
Well, she could fix that. Laini rose to her feet with a grunt and a groan and padded around the tree trunk. She opened her mouth to make a mean comment but for the life of her, she couldn't remember exactly what it was she wanted to say.

Pona then perked her ears backwards...was it someone else here? she turned around pretty quick and looked really surprised when she saw another lioness. She blinked a few times and flicked her tail a little. She could swear she didn't notice anyone or maybe she didn't was careful enough...
" Oh hallo there...i am sorry i didn't know this tree was taken
She said with a gentle tone and tilted her head to the side. She hoped the other female wasn't angry since she did look a little annoyed.

Laini squiggled her face trying to find an adequate expression and ended up with a stupid one. "It's alright," she sighed. Gosh she was turning motherly already?! Internally, she was getting rather angry at herself instead. "Just found it a little odd that you didn't say anything. Afterall, I'm not that hard to see."
She was at a complete and udder loss, standing there without being able to piece together enough thoughts to know what to do next. But what she did know is that if this was what it was like being pregnant, she never wanted to go near a male again.

Pona smiled towards the other female she sure was moody but she still seemed nice somehow. Maybe something bad happend to her? but she didn't feel like asking it would probably be stupid since she didn't know this female.
" I am sorry i guess my mind was somewhere else but all this place is green it's rather confusing "
Then she noticed the other females big belly...could it be that she was pragnent?

"And it's so damn hot," Laini couldn't help but groan. She considered going to the waterhole Muroki had once taken her to ...but she couldn't remember where it was very well. "Green?" she asked before her brain turned the lights on. "Oh yes, that's because it's so muggy. So much moisture, it practically clings to your fur after a good raining."
"...the misty mornings are rather pretty, though," she added off-handedly. Laini was being conversational for other than selfish reasons? She was amazed with herself but too lazy to fight. Laini sat down heavily, tired. The darn children were heavy.

Pona couldn't help but laugh she tried to hold it back but she couldn't help herself of course it was hot this land that they where living at was always hot but maybe she tought it was hotter since she was pragnent? Pona had never carried any children but would probably do one day if she found an interesting male.
" Ah well i agree with you~~ but it's a lot of shade here isn't that good? "
Misty mornings? that sounded pretty interesting but Pona was interested in everything all things she hadn't seen was an adventure to her. She couldn't help but peek down on the other females belly again.

"Yes, laugh," Laini sighed when she really wanted to snap. "But you see, it's so humid in this area by the jungle that shade is really all the word shade means. It just shields you from the sun ...not the humidity." She frowned. "This place usually lacks a breeze ...although it didn't when I first came here. It was the reason I came here." Rant much? No, not really.
"Hey..." she said furrowing her brow. She was being stared at in the location of her current insecurity, making her edgy.

She put a paw infront of her mouth to stop laughing but Pona couldn't help herself she was always in a good mood herself if no one ticked her off but that rarley happend. But she listend to the female she probably just wanted to talk and complain a little being pragnent by yourself couldn't be easy right?
" I am sorry ok...i just couldn't help myself both for starring and laughing "
She smiled weakly and stopped peeking at the female tummy but she tought it looked diffrent she never experiensed that herself well not yet.

Gosh darn, this lioness seemed a rather carefree, did she not? She seemed to be without restrictions or limitations too. She narrowed her eyes and blinked at the other lioness's apology. "It's alright," she said after a long silence. She felt almost as if she was a mother already.
She sighed, lacking the willpower to move herself, and thus decided to try for conversation. "So what brings you over this way, ms. er.....?"

Pona wagged her tail and smiled once more she was glad that the female wasn't angry but Pona was still surprised that they where both adults since the other female seemed to be acting like one more then herself. Oh and she hadn't asked her name either..
" I am sorry my name is Pona what is yours? "
Then she looked around on the green jungle this sure was a really nice place..
" Ah well i was just looking for some shade...how about you? "

"Well, I'm.... Laini. And I live about these parts," she said skipping over the fact that she did not live in "these parts" alone. She had not had a good conversation in a long time. It was almost necessary for her to have one although only slightly did she feel this and only after she started it up was there any realization.
She looked at the fun-loving, carefree lioness, Pona. Laini had never been like that. Then again, she had never been able to. It had all been about surviving with her emotionally depressed mother in the middle of the wilderness, away from anyone who might have helped them. So she really couldn't quite understand how this lioness lived her life successfully.
