Name: Mfuto
Nicknames: None really… ‘Futo, if you want
Name Meaning: “Simple Thing”
Personality: Mfuto isn’t exactly the brightest star in the sky. He is very child-like, innocent and naïve, with a unique speech impediment and a very simplistic manner of thinking. He sometimes has a hard time reasoning things out, and is very trusting, though not as universally so as he was in his youth. He also has a tendency towards hyperactivity. Behind his child-like manners, though, Mfuto is extremely sweet. He is very polite and is always kind to everyone he meets. His greatest concern is for the happiness and wellbeing of others. He also tries his hardest to help out wherever he can. He loves to make friends and is loyal to every friend he makes so long as they continue to be kind in return. It is his earnest belief that friends are like family, and that family is the most important thing someone can have. His greatest fear is of being alone, or of losing someone he loves.
Past: Mfuto was born a prince, the only child of the king and queen of a very small pride. However, the king and queen were killed by human poachers, and the rest of the pride scattered. Somehow, in the ensuing chaos, whether by stray bullet or being trampled, Mfuto was brain-damaged. He doesn’t remember much about the incident, but after being unable to wake his parents, Mfuto set off to wander. It wasn’t too long before he met up with the lion Utengemano and his genet friend Maguezo. Mfuto made fast friends with the two, and together the trio traveled the savannah for much of Mfuto’s youth, with the promise that they would go on adventure in the jungle together. For a few months, however, Mfuto got lost. In time, though, the trio were reunited, with the addition of the leopardess Alana. Shortly thereafter, Uten and Alana had a cub, Heu, and Mfuto was overjoyed at their growing family. But one day, while out wandering by himself, Mfuto was attacked by the fierce lioness Mahakali; the incident left him with scars along his left flank and even deeper scars in his heart. It didn’t help that not long after, Uten decided to run off on his mate and child. Though Mfuto was invited to join, the value he placed on family was too strong for him to consent. He came to view Uten as a traitor, and instead went to the jungle with Alana to help her look after Heu. It was here that Mfuto spent his adolescence, sulking… until he met with Mtima’Safi, Goddess of Souls, who helped him put things back into perspective. Now fully grown, and back to his old sunny, optimistic self, Mfuto is looking forward to leaving the jungle and resuming his travels… but only when Alana is ready to let him go.

I wish I had someone to throw at him.

I mean, I have Sura, buuut she's already a little short tempered around males. Although she does take the time to take care of them because she thinks they're all mindless idiots who can't take care of themselves... And she's also wrapped up in a plot designed to further the sexism.

I don't suppose Mfuto would want to have to go through the long process of getting her trust? xD

Although if he did, I could imagine her taking care of him. A lion like Mfuto would be much easier to let into her little bubble of security, since it wouldn't be hard for him to convince her that he's not trouble.

Yeah, we're gonna have to plot about everything that happened in the time period that Uten was off by himself. xD
