I was talking to a friend a moment ago online asking if my best friend and I were the only two of the group we turned into fangirls of Twilight who had read Eclipse yet(because some of them are waiting until they can dedicate every waking moment to it with no interruptions), and suddenly it hit me: it's just like vampirism! We're turning them into Twilight fangirls/fanboys instead of vampires though!
Yes I am wierd, I know, but I wanted to share this because I thought it was fun ^^;
Anyways, discuss:
*How many people have you "turned" or helped "turn"?
*How were you "turned"?
*When were you "turned"?
My answers to my questions:
I've turned/had a hand in turning 6 people, my mom being one of them, and I was turned in October 2005 by my best friend who found it on Amazon when it first came out.

Well, let's see, I was turned by a friend of mine... I just read the back of New Moon and well... the next time I was at a bookstore I bought them and read them within the next two or three days.
I passed them off to my sister, who read them quickly and then I turned most of the girls in my group of friends, the guys weren't interested. >.< I also recently turned my cousin and I'm working on my mom and a couple of other friends, including internet buddies.

WARNING! This will be long. I can just feel it all coming.
Well, I've TRIED to turn every single one of my friends by nagging them on and on about what happened in Twilight, but they just aren't as much of a bookworm as I am. sad
I was turned by my sister. My sister borrowed Twilight from the library (I don't know why it was that particular book), then she let my other sister read it (and she freakin' spoiled the story for me and told me he was a vampire! [I don't look at the back of the book, i think it kinda wrecks the story]). Then this was after 1st term, and it was during the holidays, THIS year (I know, I'm so late, I should've read it earlier) that she let ME read the book. And it was SO interesting that it took me that one day to read it all. And I didn't want to stop reading it, so I read it again and again until I realised that I've read it too many times.
Then I searched on the internet Stephenie Meyer, Twilight. And hey presto, her website. Where I found out there was a sequel to it. New Moon. I bought New Moon and Twilight (a copy for me to keep) and now I have a massive obsession over Edward stare
OOH, and I'm going shopping tomorrow to check if Eclipse is out yet from where I live.
I SO want Midnight Sun to be published.

Well, I first got into it...well out of boredom and browsing in my book store actually. I finished reading a book...i forgot wat it was. I always got a manga book, so I decided to look for a book that was popular and interesting! =D So I came upon "Twilight" and when I read it was bestseller i was all like "huh...." and I read the back. And I was all like "Hmmm...I'll give this a shot..."
I instantly got hooked! =D
And I got one of my best friends (julliel 3nodding ) into it, when I couldn't stop talking about it in geometry class! xD I also got a few of my other friends into it! xD Together we spread it around our friends! ahaha! It's like an epidemic! xD blaugh heart

I don't have a lot of friends, and my one girl friend doesn't like sequals. So. She thought Twilight was okay, though.

My friend turned me in health class, i opened her book to arandom page and it was akissing one and i was like what the hell are you reading cause she's not a chick fick/book kinda gal... she said there was vampires and loaned it to me, I read the first chapter and got really bored but I borroed it again and i couldnt put it down!
sadly i havent ahd a hand in turning anyone- not yet muwahahaha... but the school year starts soon!

I am a major book worm and love to just browse in bookstores whenever i get the chance (also the library) for books i might like to buy or get from the library. i found Twilight in Chapters one rainy evening and read the first chapter or two in the store then i just had to buy it and i read it within two days i love it so much. six months later i come across NewMoon (which i thought wasnt out till a couple months later in oct but i got it in aug last year). three months ago i got to talking about vampire books with my boyfriend, because he loves the vamp series Ann Rice wrote (i tried but it just wasnt my kind of thing, i might try it again someday who knows) and i brought up twilight and he said he would like to try it some time so i borrowed it to him and he loved it and then borrowed NewMoon from me asap. Now i just finished Eclipse and passed it on to him today for him to start reading tonight biggrin mrgreen
OH yeah my dads friend's younger daughter around 15, i told her about twilight, she didnt seem so interested but then half a year later she was like obsessed with it so i guess i might have had a hand in that. i have always been trying to get my mom to try it but i guess its just not for her cuz she really seems to dislike the idea about reading it, who knows...sigh.

I've turned seven people, eight soon hopefully. I've been begging my mom to read it.
I randomly picked up Twilight and started to read. No one refered it to me.
I was turned back in the ol' September.

A friend (more like a classroom buddy...) put Twilight in a book exchange. Of course, it was the biggest book in the exchange, so I had to have it. So I guess my friend Brittany changed me.
And I haven't really changed anybody. Just because I don't like sharing my things with other people, because then they'll read it and be like "I LIKE IT MORE THAN YOU" and make it a competition. neutral Or something stupid like that.
So I don't share. whee [/greedy]

I was "turned" by the pretty cover art when I saw it in the library.
Then I turned the entire book club (I was VP, I had this kind of power) of about 20 people.
Then I turned about twelve or so more -- people who hang out around me but aren't in book club.
I feel like I got a job done or something. xD

I was turned by one of my best friends, Tegan, and we both turned her twin, Hope; then there have been others of my friends we got obsessed, and at least 4 people on Gaia that I have gotten into Twilight.
I was turned early last year via the Audiobook. I am so glad I let Tegan talk me into it! If she hadn't...*shudders at the thought* because now I am so obsessed!
OH! And I got my girlfriend into it, which is my greatest achievement ^_^ now if only my best friend liked this genre, then I would actually attempt... crying

Let's see, I got 'turned' in Febuary. How? ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOOK FAIR! n_n;
Yes, I was browsing the books there with my friend. We ended up concluding that all of the books there were absolutely awful. But then my friend saw Twilight on one of the tables. She said 'This is a really good book!' and I asked what was it about and she said it was about vampires. So, not knowing my vampire craving then, I nearly shouted 'ARE YOU MESSED UP?!'. But I ended up buying it in the end and stayed up all night to read it.
Honestly, I can't see how Twilight got there. Twilight is a teen book and people were trying to make kids read it. o_o
I turned a few people. I brought the book to Chinese school and my friend Lauren kept trying to steal it from me the whole lesson. I lended it to her for a week and made her bring it back next time. So she began to get obsessed, stealing New Moon, then begged for Eclipse as soon as I got it.
I also turned a girl in my class to Twilight. But she read it before. I just got her more into it. ;B

But I Love You Until The End Of Time <3  Haha. Interesting Topic. I Turned A Few Months After Twilight Came Out By... The Internet xD And I Turned My Friend After I Had Gotten New Moon. (She Was Spending The Night And Began Reading Twilight While She Was Here. xD) Come What May. Come What May.
