Do you speed?
  Yeah, a little
  All the time
  No, not really
  I don't even drive!

There is a chemical in your brain

So today I got a speeding ticket: "68" in a 55. Here's the fun part. A) My mother (owner of car) put a ton of ranch dressing in the glove box so it had exploded all over all papers within making them transparent and unreadable. B) Insurance was also not in the car. C) car is really old, so I think it might just be the odometer, because I know I was speeding, but I didn't think I was going that fast. D) I wouldn't have been there anyway if my mother hadn't insisted I go pay the people who mow our lawn because "she didn't feel like it" E) I was on my way to work, so I was late...but they love me so that isn't really as big a deal. F) Court date=Sept. I go back to school (out of state) TUESDAY. G) I have to show up for court and there wasn't a mail in option which blows since I would have rather just mailed in the money. I don't really have a car anyway, so it would be off my record by the time I got one.
So, tomorrow I get to call and talk to people about moving the court date and oodles of other stuff. Fun fun. But anywho, the real point of this was to see how many other speeders were floating around the guild ninja and what you've done about getting caught. ^_^

It feels good...

That figures, right before you go back to school. I didn't know you had to go to court to pay...I thought you just payed as soon as possible.

Let's see, I've been a driver (well, legal anyway) for two years. I rarely ever go the speed limit unless I know the area is patrolled often. I don't speed like some idiots who go 80 in a 45, I normally only go 5 or 10 mph over the limit.

I've never been caught, surprisingly. I've gotten a warning before, but that was for not stopping completely.

...to know your mine.

er do to a medical conditon I'v had my permit for 2 yrs and have yet to get enough driving time.
Anyhow, a teacher of mine tis year shared with us a little story that is completely on topic. She was late to work one day and thereby was speeding on a back road in GA when she came to some railroad tracks. The car in front of her was slowing down so she slwoed down a little and went around the car. Well as it turns out the car was slwoing down for a police c ar. So needless to say she was pulled over for speeding. Cop came over to her, asked for the liscnece & registration and whatnot. Asked her if she knew how fast she was going & wht the speed limit was. She went 'Oh yes, the speed limit's 55mph! isn't it?' Cop went 'No...it's 45. And I clocked you at 78mph.' (At this point we all started laughing hysterically) She looked at us all and went 'What?! I was in a hurry!' Anyhow, the cop looked at her lisnce and went 'Well, says here you're from Michigan. So I'm not going to write you a ticket. But don't let me catch you speeding again.' Thing is, my teach was born and raised in GA and knew very well the speed limit was 45 mph. XD she was just living and teaching in Michigan at the time.

Ug, tickets...

I almost had a speeding ticket once. Almost. But not quite.

I was going 36 in a 25 with expired plates and an unchanged address (which I found out that night, actually is illegal. Bogus)

Lucky for me the cop was very sweet (and cute) and gave me a warning, but I had to have my plates updated and my address changed within the week or it WAS a ticket.

I DID get a parking ticket for being in the way of a street sweeper. That was kind of lame. 35.00. More than being in the way of a snow plow.

I've never been busted for speeding, ever.

Driving without a license, driving without insurance, but never speeding.

Even though I often have. >.>

I got caught for speeding. Basically I forgot that the road I was on was pretty much a speed trap for the suburban Chicago cops. I was so surprised I couldn't even cry or flash the guy to try to get out of it.

I'm kidding (mostly) about flashing the guy.

Sounds like we have some speeders, then. I usually go about 5-10 over. But did you know that 65mph was the new eco-friendly speed? Saves gas and all that.

I've got my last drive with an instructor on Saturday so I'm going to try and not to speed. XD

I speed a little. I cant help it. somehow I always wind up going between 5 and 10 mph over whatever the speed limit is. it just happens. fortunately tho, I've never got a speeding ticket. my driving record is squeaky clean.
