I don't think this warrants its own thread.

So did I, it was in my hometown for a month. I think it seemed a little rushed when I saw it.
The person playing as the Phantom was an understudy, but he was so good, I vould hardly tell.

I just saw Phantom two days ago on Broadway for my birthday. whee I absolutely loved it, it was amazing to see the theater. I agree, it's better than the movie.
I saw Wicked as well, which was also spectacular. heart

My friend went to see it the other week in London for her birthday, I was well jealous but then I found out that my mum had booked us tickets to go and see it in September and I can't wait!

A week ago I went with my boyfriend and two of his family members to see the musical and I loved it so much! The special effects were amazing and the person playing Erik was amazing! I went in with a very critical ear because many stage actors cannot sing the way Erik is supposed to sing. Erik is supposed to have a wide range, as in able to sing all three male part which are-highest to lowest- tenor, baritone, and bass. Michael Crawford is an example of one who cannot do this. He is tenor with the occasional baritone notes. But the guy who played Erik when I went to see it was Richard Todd Adams and he was simply SLENDID! If any of you have the chance to see the stage production of The Phantom of the Opera with him as the Phantom I urge you to do so!

My question is, just where are you getting the whole "he has to be able to sing every male vocal range" bit? I very much doubt that Webber was that complex to want a man to sing all those ranges.

lol Yep, that is an awesome coincidence! xd And about the whole range thing, Erik's supposed to have this wonderful, perfect voice. I don't think it actually states in the book(s) that he can sing all the male ranges, but some people think he should be able too.
