 Step.
Step.
Crunch.
Step.
Step.
Cruncchhh...
Naina had only just taken leave from the forest, and yet, she couldnt for the life of her, remove the particles of the forest such as leaves and twigs.
They tangled in her mane, and she'd shake them out.. Which resulted in stepping on them.
,She groaned as she crunched another.. But finally, they were out. No more forest trying to walk with her.
Her eyes scanned the area. She had wondered into the clearing now. Something she didnt always do. She was a very cautious mare. Always sure as to what was going on around her.
She didnt see anything out of the ordinary. The grass was blowing and whisping around, and the sun was bleaching the dirt, making sand colored particles.
It was a hot day. But the key word. Day. She normally didnt even wake up for the day.. But today, something was pulling at her curiousity.

Naina wasn't the only Soquili wondering why they were up and about on a hot day such as this. A dark coal, teetering on the edge of black, Amaroq suffered more from the heat than lighter-colored Soquili. Not that it made any difference to his activities, no sir. If anything, the stallion pushed himself even harder, though the sweat darkened his coat still more.
It was still a bloody nuisance, though. "Damn it..." he muttered, noticing the dust drifting up from his footsteps to settle on his sweat-dampened legs. Just one more bloody thing to clean off.

She raised an eyebrow, her ears pivoted from her head.
She had heard words. She had heard a voice. Stallion by the sounds of it. She cast her amethyst eyes to the direction, catching sight of an ebony stallion.
He seemed to be upset, though she was sure it had something to do with the midday heat that smacked herself in the face so unmercifully.
"Hello?"
She called, hoping to get his attention.
She did know of a very nice stream.. Maybe it would cool the poor guy off.

Sharp ears swiveled at the sound of a feminine voice, and Amaroq's icy orbs soon followed to light on the source. "Well...if you aren't a pretty little thing," he murmured, in a manner that would have his dam trying to plant a hoof in his face. His dark tail flickered around his hocks, chasing away the flies that seemed drawn to his sweaty hide. Just another reason to despise this damn heat.

"Are you okay? This heat is sweltering, and you must be uncomfortable."
She said, stepping closer and giving him her sweetest smile.
"My name is Naina."
She was making a mental note of how handsome this one was. She blushed a bit with the thought, but quickly masked it.

Well...this was different. The femme wasn't trying to stave his head in yet, anyways. Amaroq shifted into a slightly more amiable and less militant posture.
"No kidding...I think if I sweat much more, I'll be able to make a fortune off of selling the salt. If I don't turn into a soggy husk, that is." He laughed roughly, mouth curling slightly in a smirk. "Oh, my name's Amaroq. Naina...an interesting name. From around these parts?"

"Oh yes, It is very hot out here. Much hotter than I think it should have been."
She smiled, batting her eyelashes as she glanced back up at him.
"Amaroq? Well, that indeed is an interesting name as well. Does it mean anything?"
She knew her name meant lovely.. But it also meant dwarf in french, which angered her. She prefered lovely.
"Oh no. Im from in there." She said, tossing back her head to glance at the forest."

Amaroq was rapidly starting to feel out of his depth, and it puzzled him. Why did he feel that Naina meant something more than precisely what she said? And...was she batting her eyelashes at him? Hmmm...then again...perhaps he didn't feel quite so out of it. After all, she was rather easy on the eyes. "Yes, it is...I wonder why," he replied, venturing a bit of double meaning of his own. "I think it means 'wolf,' but in a different language than my sire's name...his means the same." He cocked his head, forelock drifting rakishly over one eye. "A traveler, then?"

She grinned, not really getting the joke he seemed to have tried to sneak by.
She nodded a bit, and smiled again.
"Oh, just a little." She said, knowing full well she liked to travel.
Wolf. She liked wolves, she knew her own sire was searching for his wolf friend. She couldnt wait to meet him.
"Wolf. Well, thats lovely. Such a wonderful thing to be named after."

Amaroq tossed his head with a bit of a grin. "I'd have to agree...a formidable predator on its own, but truly a force to be reckoned with in numbers. Incredible stamina, as well...why outrun prey, when you can outlast it?" He shifted his weight a bit, starting to feel the sun beat down on him. It seemed so much more noticable standing still.

She noticed his words were tinged with the uncomfortable-ness of the sun.
She grimaced a bit, giving a glance to the direction in which the river was located.
"Oh forgive me.. Over this way, is such a lovely river. Its wonderful on teh coat, and wonderful on the eyes."
She said smiling, and hoping he would catch the joke she ahd just sewn in there.

Hmm...she was certainly a sly one. Amaroq found it intriguing, the way she couched hidden meanings within the most innocent of words. Perhaps it was a trick he could pick up as well. "Really? That sounds like an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up..."

She smiled, tunring to the direction. Flicking her tail, and looking back at him from dark lidded eyes.
"Its just this way." She said, smiling as she picked up her hooves, and ran.
She zig zagged past the trees, letting mane and tail blow as if she was flying.
She didnt look to see if he followed, but as she reached the river, she smiled.
It wasnt far at all. She always came here, it was only a few yards away. About fourth of a mile.
"Ta-Da!"

Not expecting her to take off, Amaroq fairly scrambled to catch up. Thankfully, she didn't seem to be watching behind her too closely, so he didn't have to worry about witnesses. Speaking of witnessing...the way she ran was as fascinating as the rest of her. Almost stumbling over a branch, he forced himself to tear his eyes away and pay attention to where he was going. He was glad that he didn't have to do so for long, as they came to the river quickly. With barely a hesitation, he waded in with a shudder as the water hit his hide with a cold shock. "Ooooooh...muuuuch better." The relief in his voice was audible.

She smiled, laying down by the side of the water, dipping her head to take a cool drink of the crystal.
"Oh yes, its a very nice place to be."
She said, glancing at him.
"So, Tell me about yourself."
She found him intriguing, and quite honestly, attractive. She couldnt help but look at him as if he was godly, but she was trying to mask the look.
