Name : Jasper Tepes
Gender : male
Age : 11
Grade : first Year
House : Slytherin
Ethnicity : Romanian
Hair Color : dark chestnut brown
Eye Color : dark amber
Pet : baby lavender corn snake, named Nysr(female)
Wand : 12" cherry wood containing crushed dragon's claw
Family : The only son of a pure-blood family, Jasper has a younger sister who is too young to attend Hogwarts just yet. She is seven years old and named Helena. His parents, Muncel and Katia, are of an arranged marriage, but one that worked marvelously well in the end. Muncel works in the Ministry of Magic, as a judge, while Katia spends her days at home. Katia enjoys all the leisures of a rich wife, sending her son off to school as quickly as she can and hiring a nanny for her daughter.
Jasper doesn't despise his family, but he is not altogether too fond of them, save his sister. His father is stern, but considerate, while his mother feigns love, but really could care less. He tries to ignore that fact and befriends his younger sister so that she doesn't develop the same attitude about life. He has grown up in a very privileged setting, a large manor house with servants and house elves galore and yet, still retains his fresh outlook on the world.
A Bit About Him/Her : Jasper is a tall youth, already starting to be teased by his peers at his height of five foot three inches. His hair is on the shorter side, hanging in loose waves and curls around his face in a sumptuous shade of dark chestnut and you can always tell by the dark glint of gold in his amber eyes when he is up to no good. He seems innocent looking enough, but sometimes can be quite the trouble-maker. In Jasper's naivety, he often causes more trouble when he tries to help of fix something, not quite growing into his lankiness and clumsiness.
He really can be quite sweet at times, still relying his childish persona to get him what he wants in life. Jasper can have quite the attitude if pushed to it, another reason the Sorting Hat was happy with its decision. The boy means well most of the time, but sometimes will do anything to make a situation turn out his way.
In his first year at Hogwarts, Jasper took some time to be sorted by the infamous Sorting Hat. He had a bit of an argument with the thing. It had wanted to place him in Ravenclaw, and though that would have been nice, he sought Slytherin to make his father proud. Though he was not as corrupt as some of those who entered Slytherin House, Jasper's keen intelligence and mischievous spirit was enough to give the hat pause and place him into the green and silver house.
The boy is a quick learner for all his escapades and has taken an interest in transfiguration and potions. He also has a passing fancy in quidditch which has prompted him to try out for chaser on the Slytherin team; he hopes that he will do well. Jasper loves to read and can often be found in the Slytherin common room with his nose in a book. Do not let this bookish exterior fool you, for even as he is reading, he is brushing up on spells and the latest concoctions for potions that he can make. More often than not, Jasper can be found at the bottom of certain spells gone awry that he has yet to master.
Always testing himself, Jasper enjoys trying to perform spells that are way out his league. For now he is memorizing a fair share of them, eager to start classes this year to learn more basic magic so that he may test his abilities.
A Moment By Himself/Herself : Taking one final look around his spacious bedchamber in his home, Jasper smiled to himself. It was off to his first year at Hogwarts. He gathered up his long cloak, draping it over his shoulders. Two house elves popped into the room with a bang, each grasping an end of his large trunk. They departed, taking the trunk with them, with another loud bang.
Jasper looked around for the last time, looking over to make sure he had remembered to pack everything he had gotten at Diagon alley just the other day. Spotting his small snake trying to slither away under his bed, he dove for her.
"Nysr! Get back here!! It's time to go board the train!" he grunted, hitting the hardwood floor with his knees and palms. Stretching out, he held his hand palm up towards the light purple snake. She flickered her tongue out at him and gave a little hiss. Begrudgingly it seemed, the lavender corn snake moved towards Jasper, curling up around his wrist and settling her head in the webbing between his thumb and forefinger. Grinning, Jasper rose, careful not to jostle the snake. He had gotten her just three days ago and Nysr had proven to be nothing but trouble since the moment he had picked her out.
Brushing his hair from his face, he dashed out of his room, bounding down the stairs with all the energy of a twelve year old boy. His enthusiasm prompted a shout from his mother who was relaxing in the parlor with some friends of hers. His father was at work today and so it was the chauffeur who drove Jasper to the station. His sister had begged to come along though and her nanny smiled benignly at the siblings as they said their goodbyes. With a backwards glance at Helena, Jasper waved and then ran full tilt towards the brick wall that led to the Hogwarts Express platform, with his cart of belongings. Soon enough, all of his things were stashed onto the train and he was scrambling to find a seat with someone he'd be able to talk to and make friends with.
