Name : Allis Sessle Gender : Female Age : 16 Grade : 5th Year House : Ravenclaw
Ethnicity : British Hair Color : Naturally light brown, but dyed mahagony red. (Allis enjoys experimenting with her hair). Eye Color : Green.
Pet : Tawny Owl named Aluco (Latin name for species of owl in the Binomial system) Wand : Crystalized Purpleheart Wand with Swarovski Crystals Wood: Purpleheart Length: 15 inches (including crystal) Enchantment: Essence of Phoenix Ash
Family : Allis is primarily a muggle born witch. Both of her parents were muggles, yet very successful muggles at that. It was known that the magical gene in Allis' family was last seen in her grandmother Doris before Allis or her sister were born. Allis has a sister named Emily who is also a witch, which her parents were shocked to find due to the abrupt appearence of the magical gene in the Sessle family. Both of Allis' parents were considerably well-off and earned significant wages from both of their jobs, owning a large house with a large amount of land in the country side of Kent, England. Allis' Mother, Rose, worked as a successful poet, writing to entertain both the young and the old. Allis' father studied Physics at Oxford University and gained a PhD in this area of science. He became a proffessor and, like his wife, shared the passion of writing for the benefit of others and wrote physics books, where his passions lie. Both parents were considerably open-minded, like Allis and her sister, and the whole family relationship was one desired by many families. If it wasn't for this fantastic open-mindedness of Allis' parents, they may not have taken to her and Emily's unusual talents as kindly. They were in fact enthralled by their two daughters magical abilities, and Allis' mother, Rose, would often involve magic in her poetry, yet never expressed her desire to do magic herself even though she wanted to. Allis and her sister Emily both developed magical abilities at a very young age, and as soon as their parents found out (in the case of Allis when she was 4) they encouraged it rather than try to cover it with mundane muggle outlooks on life. Of course, living in the wide spread country side of Kent, the magical abilities of Allis and her sister Emily posed no threat to surrounding muggles. Sadly, by the time Allis was just 7 years old, both parents were killed by a car which had been modified using dark magic which they brought as a present for Gillbert (Allis' Father's) birthday. It was rumoured that the car had been the works of two dark wizards who later joined Lord Voldemort in muggle slaughter. Allis was left to fend not only for herself, but for her sister who was 3 years younger than her, with the occasional help of her Aunt Olivia who would have helped her two nieces more had her health allowed her.
A Bit About Him/Her : Allis is much like a typical Ravenclaw, and has enjoyed magic ever since she realised she could perform it with such ease. Her talents were largely known at Hogwarts from just her first-year, and Allis hopes to achieve mostly Os in all of her OWLs. She will study hard, especially near an exam, but does not have the benefit of parents telling her over the summer holidays to have a break from work so that she could continue to work hard when she goes back to school in September. The professors at Hogwarts are often concerned that Allis will "burn herself out" before the time comes due to her workaholic attitude to all school work. Allis dislikes stress and situations which she knows she won't be able to cope with, yet has become considerably strengthened to the realities of life once her parents were killed. Her greatest fear was always that she would grow hostile to the world, uncaring and hardened, yet Allis has long since accepted the death of her parents as something which good could not have prevented in the face of two evil people. She accepted, essentially, that evil existed, but that there was still good in the world regardless of this fact. Her closest friends at Hogwarts (Claire, Juniper and Adam) helped her through this bereavement, although Allis finds it hard to explain to her younger sister Emily that Aunt Olivia simply cannot come to see them every week since her condition will not allow her. The misfortunes in Allis' life have only made her stronger. Allis can appear shy to others at first meeting, yet is growing in confidence considerably since her younger years. When Allis was very young, her parents had often described her as being "as mad as a hatter" yet after their death she calmed down considerably. Once someone knows her well enough, Allis will surely show her most outgoing side and will be willing to have fun (when she's not studying. When Allis is feeling her best and no longer has anything to hide, she has a problem with finding almost everythinig amusing, and this often reminds her of an old-fashioned phrase her grandmother used to use; "you would laugh to see a puddin crawl". Allis has inherited her mother's creative passion for expressing herself through words and owns a diary, which she often writes poems to express her feelings to herself in her own private way, or sometimes just ordinary diary entries. Allis has few close friends, but is liked by almost everyone for her calming, soft, polite nature. She is the most open-minded of all of her friends and will often suggest ideas and keep to them regardless of what they might say. Luckily, her friends accept this. She is a conscientious, typical book worm student who enjoys Transfiguration above all subjects, but is also strangely enthralled by the Dark Arts, although she would never dream of using Dark Magic. Therefore, she also flourishes in Defence Against the Dark Arts. Aluco was brought for Allis by her Grandmother, who was a witch, and was given to her as soon as she found out Allis herself was a witch at the age of 4. Aluco, although she is quite old, is still in good condition for her age, and Allis shares her love for the owl with her sister, Emily.
Appearence: Allis naturally has light brown, slightly wavy hair which is considerably hard to tame, which is why she often uses a straightening charm on it. Her current hair colour is auburn however, which she dyed using a hair colouring charm which she had only just mastered herself.
She is 5''7, slender, with green eyes which recently have begun to change to blue. Her skin is fairly pale.
A Moment By Himself/Herself :
Allis flicked through her diary to the current date and sat, simply reflecting on the day which had passed the night before. She greatly regretted not having the time to pour out her thoughts into the rose wood covered book given to her by her mother, but tiredness had overcame her. She chewed her quill idily, realising that feathers were not designed to be chewed, and quickly straightened herself up and began to write.
"Dear Diary, I am back at Hogwarts, and the feeling is absolutely amazing. I love everything about the school; the Ravenclaw Common Room in particular. This the fifth time I've come to Hogwarts for a year, and still the bewildement exists, it still exists and the excitement still boils up inside of me as though I was in my first year again, trembling as I sat on that ancient, famous wooden stool. I had been shaking that day, as the old crumpled sorting hat was placed upon my head, and I jumped when I heard the voice scream out at once to announce that I was in Ravenclaw. It's mouth had appeared to be a particularly ancient, deeply etched crease before it had spoken, and I remember being most alarmed to make out a slightly human face in such a ragged looking hat. But how happy I am to be placed in such a house...Claire is beside me, her rich, blue curtains still drawn across. It's only 7 in the morning, but I couldn't sleep, knowing that I needed to get to Potions early to ask for advice on beginning my essay... I simply cannot believe how fast the time as flown by, and I do not feel any older than I did when I first started this magnificent school..."
Suddenly, a loud clicking noise could be heard outside, and it sounded odd and unfamiliar. Allis immediately allowed her quill to slip through her fingers, hoisted herself out of bed reluctantly, and opened the curtains with a slightly lazy pull, the sunlight momentarily blinding her, only to be blessed with the sight of her old, very familar owl, Aluco. She was hurt, which was why the sound of her pecking on the window sounded so alien. Her wing was slightly askew, and her feathers were ruffled as though she had been shoved through a tight space. Allis frowned and quickly opened the window, and the frail looking owl flopped in with a small, feathery thud, sqwarking feebly. "What have you got for me?" Allis questioned, although she knew very well that the owl would not respond in a way she would entirely understand. "And what happened to you, more importantly?" She added in a slightly more concerned tone of voice. Normally, the owl would deliver post at breakfast time...this was most odd. However, before Allis could unravel the small piece of paper attached to Aluco's leg, she was startled once more by a sudden tug of curtains from the bed next to her. "Allis!" A quiet, yet angry sounding voice hissed. "What on earth are you doing?" Claire had popped her untidy head of auburn hair out from behind her curtains and was frantically blinking her eyes in order to see what Allis had been doing. Sometimes, she's too curious for her own good..Allis thoguht slightly bitterly...Not to mention a weirdly light sleeper... Allis carefully tucked the diary under the bed with a quiet noise of it's ornate rose wood cover against floor boards and hurriedly resumed her unravelling of Aluco's letter. "Sorry, Claire...It's Aluco...Look, why don't you go back to bed?"
Side note: Sorry for the length!

If only more profiles were this detailed. I don't have anything to point out here. And you don't need to apologize for the length if it's good writing. I really like this, everything. Even the rp sample was original with the diary writing. The only thing that put me off a little was the wand. It is very unusual, and I take it that by Enchantment you actually mean Wand Core. If that is so and it behaves normally, with no special abilities then I haven't got a problem with it. Great profile and welcome to Hogwarts. smile
