some people say that Roger might have gotten AIDS from his girlfriend April ad not being protected.I'm sorry,but for me, it just doesn't add up that way.It seems more than likely that Roger and April received AIDS by shooting up with needles.Most likely the needles weren't clean and it could have happened that way.What do you guys think?

I think they got HIV from the drugs too. Not from the drugs themselves, but from the unclean needles.
He says himself he "used to be a junkie", so it makes better sense if that was how he got the HIV virus.
I'm not sure whether he has AIDS or the HIV virus only. It's not really implied in the movie, but in the OBC, April leaves him the letter saying "We have AIDS".

I didn't know that people thought he got it from April because they were having unprotected sex.
I mean, it shows them shooting up and then April gets the paper saying she has AIDS.
I thought they couldn't make it any clearer :/

It's possible that April got aids from him, which is just one more reason that he is heartbroken about her death. in the movie they hinted that it was because of the needles, but it doesn't really specify. I'd say you're right, and they got it from teh needles.

i knind of agree that the movie pretty much told you they probably got HIV from needles, but it could be both. i don't know. i'm not that good at making decisions. 3nodding

Hm, I've done a lot of thinking on this and I do think it's because they both did drugs. Unprotected sex just doesn't really fit as you guys said. Roger does seem to know the nature of the drug dealer in the movie and especially that line in Light my Candle "...I used to be a junkie." So yeah, that's my input.

Oh yeah, they got it from the needle. I'm pretty sure they shared one. But if that isn't the case, then April got it from the needle, and he got it from her.
Did I make it that easy

I think one or both of them intially got it from unclean needles with the drugs, but I'm sure they had unportected sex at some point which could have passed it to the other if they didn't already have it.
