NOTE; this was started in the shop thread, so there's no real 'chance encounter.' ^-^;;

color code
Ajali/Ducky
Wenceslas/Myso

Quote:
Ajali grinned and shimmied her way over to the splotchy male, her green eyes sparkling at the chance to meet someone new. She cleared her throat and gave him her best smile, before dipping her head in greeting. "Heya! I'm Ajali, who're you?" she asked, her pointed teeth probably only adding to her gruesome appearance. After all, she did look like she could pass for the grim reaper of the Malu species.

Quote:
Wenceslas blinked seeing the new maluess come up to him. Her markings were rather questionable especially when she resembled a skeleton. His ears went back flat on his head and then perked as he thought for a moment until finally answering in his usual noble tone," Hello there, I am Wenceslas, nice to mee you Ajali..Those are some creative markings to possess my dear." He tried to act polite against her bright green eyes giving a friendly smile an ear still twitching slightly in debate.

User ImageShe couldn't help but giggle at his comment on her markings. It was often she got odd looks for them, but to her, they were just fun! She closed her eyes and did a little twirl, flicking her tail as she came to face him again and give him another smile "Well, Wenceslas, it's good to meet you, too. As for my markings," she said, pausing to shrug her shoulders and beam at him again, "They just came like that. I doubt I could do anything to change them, and even if I could, I wouldn't. It's like I'm always wearing a costume! It's so fun." To Ajali, every day was Halloween! She quickly glanced up at the sky, and was thankful it was so cloudy. She absolutely despised the sun, if only because her coloring attracted more of it's heat than wanted. She grinned (she seemed to do that a lot) and briefly wondered it if was a good day for swimming. She did love swimming, even if all a Malu could really do was doggy paddle, but it was still fun. Ajali had a love of the night life, the party scene, and for her to be out and about during the day could probably be accounted to something very different in her schedule. She hadn't been out the night before and actually got sleep, so maybe that was to blame for her bouncy attitude at the moment. She didn't really know, but should couldn't help thanking the clouds for coming to shelter her from the sun's hot rays on this day. It was summer, and summer, after all, was always hot, muggy, and humid, and she wasn't all to partial to it. Fall was her favorite season, because of the crispness of the air and the color of the leaves. After a long time of staring at the clouds, she suddenly realized she had let her mind wander, and snapped her head down, giving a feeble apologetic smile.

User Image Wenceslas couldn't help but smile back at Ajali's peppy attitude. It had been awhile since he had contacted a happy face so he was glad to finally fall upon one. His ears perked up curious of her markings. He understood about how they were natural, look at him, he looked like confetti had been sprayed all over him and stuck. Giving a friendly nod when she had finished he spoke in his regular, deep, smooth voice," it's a surprise to run into such a glad maluess. I'm impressed you care so much for your markings, unlike myself, haha." His noble, warm smile shone through not able to help himself from her continous onslot of smiles and grins.

Seeing her look up to the sky Wenceslas was tempted to do the same. Staring up at the dank, grey clouds one of his ears flipped back a bit. He always felt that in the summer the clouds made it more humid. With the thought of it he took a deep breath slightly feeling like he was trying to breathe in a river. Letting out a small cough he blinked and looked over to her finding her rather out of it. He chuckled and lightly pawed at the ground seeing her pop out of her thoughts as he said to her," you seem to be a daydreamer, my friend."

Sure enough, Ajali was peppy, and one could probably blame it on her god. Mischief was something she constantly found herself taking part in, always playing tricks and making jokes at her own or others expense, so long as they weren't harsh and hurtful. And every one in a while, she wished she could host a masquerade, and give the invitations out to everyone, along with masks that suited them based on what she knew of them. Oh, if she didn't know them, she would ask that they find their own mask, as it was only fair. But the idea of a masquerade itself, where none one knew each other's identity (or so they would pretend, as their coats would give them away) was so much fun that it often made he want to sing and dance.

Not that she didn't already sing and dance on whatever occasion she could find. She was a thrill seeker, a partier, someone who could stay up until dawn, wake up four hours later, and still have energy to get through the day and do it all again the next night. It was why she grinned so often, really. She caught his eyes following her own up, and with a grin, she whispered, "I think it's gonna rain, soon." The desert rarely ever got more than a few inches of rain a year, so when it did rain, she made sure she was there to see and dance in it. She loved the rain. It was a sign of new life, a blessing from what ever god or goddess ruled it, and when it came she excelled in her happiness and ran around, singing and dancing. It was how she was, how life had made her, and she wouldn't give up her fun attitude for the world.

She remembered his mention of his coat, and she peered at him chest, watching the color dance and invade her vision in a vicious onslaught. Eventually, though, she seemed to have an answer. "I think you're base coat it green," she said, looking quite proud of herself to make that deduction. "Because the green never overlaps the red or white. So that just means you're green with red and white splotches. I like it!" She gave him another grin, and then giggled at his observation of her. "Well, I always liked the sky, more so the night sky, though. It's so big, and filled with stars. You wonder how all of them fit up there, and how close each of them are." She gave a tiny shrug, and frowned in thought. It was the first time she showed any emotion besides her hyper mood. But, soon enough her troubled thoughts were swept away, and she looked up grinning again. "So, what pack are you from? And what god do you follow?"

They weren't really important to her, because he was nice, but she still wanted to know. And then, an idea came to mind. "Oh! I'm gonna call you Wence from now on, ok? Wenceslas is so long, and I don't want to mess it up. Is that cool with you?" she asked, tilting her head with a hopeful gleam in her bright eyes. "Of course, you can nickname me, too. It's only fair." She gave a solemn nod, and then looked up to see his reaction. She wondered if he would accept the nickname proposal, or if he would simply prefer to be called by his full name.

Wenceslas looked to her curiously as she spoke of the rain. He hadn't seen rain since he had entered this desert terrain and gave an even more curious smile," and how do you believe this? It has yet to rain for months."

Wenceslas was a knowledge seeker. He loved to listen to people and learn about them, about their way of life, about their point of views. From time to time he felt he would be better suited for the god/goddess of the pursuit of knowledge instead of his god of kings. Still, he felt that a king must learn about every way to look at something to truly make a righteous decision and Wenceslas has always stood by that ideal.

Though, Ajali threw him off of his godly thoughts as she began to speak of his coat. His emerald eyes looked down to his chest listening to her explaination impressed by how observant she could be for such a hyper maluess. Still, he gave a very thankful smile hearing that she liked his coat, since usually he had been turned away for having such bright and noticable fur.

Noticing her again flying off to a new topic his gaze traveled back up to her as she spoke of the sky. He looked up to the grey, musty sky and gave an inspirational smile," that is a mighty fine question to ask. I remember an elder telling me one that the sky, day or night, is as vast as any malu or creature can imagine. Worlds upon worlds reside around us, but we have yet to see or come in contact with them yet." He chuckled," it sounds like a load of rubbish."

Wenceslas soon became bored of standing. He had surprisingly become easily comfortable around the new maluess. So, he sat down into a very proper and straight position which he had been taught to do for years. His ears perked to the new questions and he gave a noble smile as she spoke," I am from the pack of Revelry and my god is the god of kings. What about yourself?"

Except before he could get his answer he heard her bring up the nickname situation. Blinking his left ear twitched back slightly. The idea of a nickname had never been presented to him. In his formal household they said it was no way proper to use nicknames because you should never feel that comfortable around your company, you never know when someone is trying to play you. Still, Wenceslas was intrigued by the new idea. Giving a half-hearted smile he replied to her," I would be honored if you called by a nickname..I have never possessed one before, my family was very against such casual things, so it is..cool with me." Wenceslas was not used to a word such a cool to explain something and it showed as he gave Ajali her answer. Upon hearing the proposition of her having a nickname he simply shoke his head and said sincerely," no, my dear, I enjoy your name as it is. I do not wish to have it altered."

When Wenceslas had spoken of his family he now grew curiosity in what Ajali's was like. Adjusting his seated position so it was a bit more pleasing for himself he looked up to her with his curious emerald eyes and seemed to ask quite bluntly," what kind of family do you come from? If you don't my asking."

Ajali gave him a lopsided grin. "Well, the clouds are so gray," she answered, lifting her head to feel the wind tussle with her fur. "And it's gotten chilly. That usually means rain is on it's way. And, if we're really lucky, we'll get a storm." She loved storms, really. It was so fun to sit and watch the lightening dance in the sky, partnered with the loud cracks and long rumbles of thunder.

Her eyes sparkled at the thought of a storm. Maybe, while it was raining frogs and dogs, they could find shelter and play games. A good game of dice never hurt anyone.

His voice snared in her ears and she looked back down, tilting her head to one side as he talked of other worlds and distant places. She soaked up the small tale like a sponge, her eyes growing wide and a grin spreading across her lips once more. It was a bit far fetched, true, but she loved it. She listened intently, and looked back up at the sky when he was done. "You never know," she whispered, her eyes gleaming with a new sense of purpose, as if to find those other worlds and make friends with the other malu there. "There could be worlds were malu are gods, or eat meat, or live in the water. The possibilities are endless!"

His movement caught her attention, and she looked back to see him sitting down in a proper, straight sort of way. She tilted her head, but sat down nonetheless, though she was more hunched over and always smiling. "You're in my pack, then! I'm in Revelry, too, and my go is the god of Mischief."

And then, he became silent. She briefly wondered if offering to give him a nickname was a bad move, and she watched eagerly as his ear twitched. But soon enough he smiled, and when he spoke she couldn't help but giggle at his unfamiliarity with using such casual words. "Cool. So Wence it is." She then grinned and wondered if he would give her a nickname, but when he didn't, all she could do was smile anyway. "That's fine. I just think Wence fits you. It's so... regal," she said in a slightly dreamy tone. But she shook her head and grinned at him again. She didn't want to see like a girly girl, because she certainly wasn't.

Her ears twitched when he asked about her family, and she frowned slightly in thought. "My family? Well, I was the first born, so they usually fussed over me. Especially when I used to get into a lot of trouble. It was always me and a few other boys, running around and playing tricks on others, although I never did take part in the more violent ones..." She began to trail off, and remember that it was about her family, not her past. "Anyway, they were very protective, and almost never let me go out alone. It was only until recently that I was even allowed out of the Temple. So, it's probably why I like to be out here more than in there."

However, the frown was once again gone within moments, and she grinned at him again. "But it isn't the past or other's that shape us, it's what we ourselves do, right?"

Wenceslas' ears twitched with new found curiosity hearing that her god was mischief. Still, it was not really a surprise to him, from her lively and alert personality he could understand the qualities she possessed and how her god related. Though, he smiled with interest hearing they were in the same pack and gave a nod," well that's fantastic. I am very glad were share the same pack, that must be why we are able to relate so well."

He continued to sit as if the seemingly uncomfortable position had no effect on him what so ever. Wenceslas glanced down at himself when she commented about him being regal. Chuckling he lightly shook his head," regal? Then I must be more like my god than I have thought myself."

Still, hearing Ajali now speak of her childhood his ears perked up wanting to know of her origin. He listened silently, glancing down a bit to take it all in. When she had finished his emerald eyes rested onto her face once more as he smiled," I'm rather impressed. I would have never gotten away with such acts with my parents. I would have been six feet under before I had or have a chance of doing that, haha." He seemed to laugh at himself in great jest. Almost like he got a kick out of making fun of himself, since he did believe some of the ways he lived were quite ridiculous, but tradition. Noticing her last bit though, he blinked as he laughing subsided and shrugged," I feel that, that has way it was been for centuries, every little detail can alter you in any way." He gave a half-hearted smile.

She couldn't help but smile when he said he was glad to be in the same pack as her. It was good, the feeling of acceptance she got from him, because her markings were usually a sort of turn off for the rest of the malu population that she came across. "I haven't met anyone else from the pack yet, I don't think. I only know you, so far." And she said it with a grin. He was her first and so far only friend, which made him... special.

She couldn't help but grin at his mention of being like his god. "Oh yes, a true king in all aspects. Wence, king of... er..." She began to trail off as she looked for something to make him king of. All that she could see was sand, obviously, and a few cacti here and there. "King of the cacti!" she exclaimed, and then laughed at herself. It was an odd thing to be king of, no doubt, but Ajali thought that any king was king for a reason. Someone put them on top for a reason, no matter what reason it might be. The king could be strong, or brave, or ruthless in battle, but he was still king.

As she told him of her childhood, he was obviously interested. She grinned, her tiny wings fidgeting slightly against her back. "Well, they're not here, are they? You can do whatever you want know," she said, nodding sagely. It was a funny thing, to see her so solemn for a moment. But his voice made her look up again, and she blinked. "I suppose," she answered, looking back up at the stars. "I wonder if we ever effect those other worlds..." She was such a dreamer.
