Hey, peoples. This is my first time writing a A:TLA fanfic, a romantic/action/adverture one no less! Title: She Caught Fire Rated: T - for a bit of violence Genre(s): Romance/Action/Adventure Status: In Progress Summary (it sucks but, please bear with me): He thought she was a weak, insignificant peasant girl. Never did he suspect that she was someone important both now and in her past life. Never did he realize how important she would become to him. Cliched storyline but with a twist in chapter 6! Additional NotesI have struggled with this fanfic a bit because: 1) it uses a clliched plotline, much to many readers dismay, and 2) since it's an OC, I have to be very careful not to make her into a Mary Sue. I have drawn and colored (badly) four pictures of my OC, Aiko! The PeasantThe PupilThe PrincessThe ArcherTo avoid possible confusion, Aiko is not/was not a princess in the story. Her family was affluent due to her father's position as a member of the judicial branch in her Earth Kingdom city. Edit: Since I'm pretty much an amateur when it comes to writing fanfics, I am open to any suggestions. Please PM me if you have any suggestions about the story. Thank you!

PREVIOUSLY: A girl apparently has been chased by a bunch of muscular men. Seems as though she has been injured by them and miraculously, she has managed to escape but it looks like she won’t be safe for long. Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Fire Lord Ozai and labeled as “traitor” to the Fire Nation found her unconscious in a bush and following the advice of his uncle Iroh, he allows her stay…at least until she can get back on her two feet. Chapter 1CHAPTER TWO: Aiko, Zuko, and Iroh finally reach the next village. What will happen when they find a merchant with a red bow that mysteriously looks like the same red bow in Aiko’s dream? How will she react? What is this about a woman who keeps recurring in Aiko’s dream? Stay tuned to find out!

Thanks! biggrin I've been really tied up with school and everything, so it's difficult for me to make updates. However, a new chapter is currently being written and is on the way.

PREVIOUSLY: Aiko had woken up to meet Iroh and Zuko. She was so grateful that, according to her, she owes them her life. However, before they could even make a step towards the next village, they have been attacked by five Earth Kingdom soldiers. They accused Iroh and Zuko of kidnapping the daughter of a man in the village, which is far from the truth. While Iroh fended them off, Zuko and Aiko ran towards the stream but not before one of the men blurted out that the two are not only from the Fire Nation, but they are fugitives and “traitors”. After swimming across to the other side, Zuko had assumed that Aiko was going to give him the normal, “full of hatred” look but he only saw amazement…and acceptance. Based on what she explained, Aiko could never judge a person because of his or her status or what his or her people are doing. Seems like Zuko has softened a bit because of that! Chapter 2CHAPTER THREE: Aiko, Zuko, and Iroh are treated as honorable guests at Hiroshi’s house. There’s not much action compared to the previous chapters and the ones in the future but, I think it’s very interesting. Watch out for the startling revelations and the twist at the end!

PREVIOUSLY: After a long journey, Aiko, Zuko, and Iroh reached the village and managed to enter without complications thanks to Aiko’s supposed “white lie.” Zuko is having a battle within himself; part of him wants to trust her and open up to her since she is the only one known to have accepted him for what and who he was, although she knows nothing of his gruesome past, while the other does not want to at all. Aiko is drawn to a large red bow carved like a dragon and at first, the merchant refuses to sell it. However, after Iroh unwittingly (well, at least to the merchant) accepts a difficult challenge, Aiko must prove that she is what Iroh believes she is: the reincarnation of a female archer named Michiko of the Fire Nation. Amazingly enough, Aiko meets Michiko by unlocking a part of her soul and gets some very encouraging advice. Aiko succeeds in the challenge and the three stay at for the night in the merchant named Hiroshi. Chapter 3CHAPTER FOUR: Aiko begins her training under Iroh’s guidance. Can she handle the training or will it break her because she is “too nice”? What is up with Zuko’s conscience? It’s like different person talking to him! There might be an unwanted surprise from someone! The only way to find out is to keep on reading!

PREVIOUSLY: Thanks to Hiroshi, Aiko, Zuko, and Iroh are fed well and slept well for the night. Aiko even gets good clothing! They departed the next day and all was well until Hiroshi was “mugged” by a man with his two henchmen who were asking for the same guests they housed the other night. Fearfully, the Hiroshi family kept their mouths shut so the villagers would not suspect that they were also people from the Fire Nation. Chapter 4CHAPTER FIVE: Zuko is getting restless. He demands that they find somewhere suitable to live before they all die in this “damnable wasteland.” They all agree to go Ba Sing Se and on their way, they discover an oasis. Their little discovery has eased the tension but will it be short-lived?

PREVIOUSLY: Aiko started her training, albeit much later than it should have been. Why? Her frightening nightmares left her physically drained. She seems to know the powerful Earthbender with the odd amethyst eyes, which could mean that her dreams are actually omens or prophecies. Even so, not wanting to let herself down, she began to train. She improved over the weeks even though her benevolence threatened her progress. Zuko was attacked by his conscience, again, and cursed himself for ever thinking that he had feelings for Aiko. Unfortunately for them, Azula found them and Aiko was easily taken out. Such a swift and pitiful defeat in her first battle left her distraught. Thankfully, the Avatar and his companions unwittingly flew by, creating a detour for Azula. Shockingly, Zuko actually comforted Aiko! Chapter 5CHAPTER SIX: Zuko, Iroh, and Aiko are close to entering Ba Sing Se. Everything is set for their departure by boat. However, there may be something—or rather, someone—that might make that task difficult for them all, particularly Aiko. This might be Aiko’s chance to prove that she is capable of living up to her past life’s reputation.

PREVIOUSLY: The morning was hectic for the trio as they finally decided to depart from the wasteland and converge with Iroh’s friends, in order to get into Ba Sing Se, the Earth Kingdom capital and the best location for refugees and fugitives. As they began to travel once again, they faced Iroh’s old “friends”, General Mongke and the Rough Rhinos. They managed to free themselves and make it to the village near the oasis in one piece before encountering a Pai Sho player. With clever thinking, the aged player of the cryptic arts was able to obtain legal passes for Iroh, Zuko, and Aiko. Before Xin Fu and Master Yu could attack them (yeah, right), the three escaped via three flower plots. Chapter 6SPECIAL CHAPTER: To finally put your suspicions to rest, I have written a special chapter, narrating the story of Aiko’s parents, Ai and Kazuo. How did they possibly meet? What made them fall in love with each other? What does Yukio have to do in all of this? To find out the answers, please stay alert for the next chapter
