As a skilled huntress of the Motoujamii, Azachamorel was the very picture of dangerous grace - usually. Just now, however, her movements were ungainly and strange. She had made a kill, and was endeavoring to drag it across the sands of the desert to the heart of the pride's territory, where others could feast upon it.
The weight of the young oryx was not the primary difficulty, but rather its horns. They were making the difficult job a somewhat more delicate procedure.

Akamu had left the sea in order to find his sister. He had been walking for days now it seemed, stopping only to drink and eat. His paws felt sore after such a long walk but something inside of him pushed him onward. He didn’t care for his birth lands, in fact, after he left them as a younger lion he vowed never to return... but, things had changed and here he was, standing on the outskirts of the sandy wastelands, home of the Firekin.
His lime green eyes shifted as he frowned and moved in. Right away his paws burned from the sand below... he wasn’t use to the heat anymore. His eyes also squinted, trying to adjust to the hot sun. For a while more he walked on, keeping his head held low, trying to stay out of anyones way or view. Afterall.. he looked the part but his scent spoke other wise.
He was not a Firekin anymore and he was so very lost.
But something had drawn his attention now, something red... so he moved himself forward and gazed out as far as he could, until the form of a female Firekin crossed his view. She was dragging along a rather large kill and looked very fit. He didn’t know what to do now. If he spoke to her first... well that could be the last thing he did but if he just stood there she would surly see him.
He gulped.

Motobi'ata was nearby, her eyes keeping a close watch on the other lioness. She saw the carcass and smiled. Though, she wasn't much of a hunter herself, it was interesting to see how the kill was brought it. And so, curiously she bounded over to Azachamorel, with excitement. She popped out of nowhere, and padded beside the lioness. "Hey there, need any help carrying that? It looks heavy ..."
She pointed out the obvious, before flicking her ears back and looking towards a male, standing on a dune. Quirking a brow, she paused and questioned him. "Hey, who's that?"

The huntress' senses were always on alert, just the way her parents had taught her they should be. With every day, every hunt, she strove to do their memory honor. it would have been a very shame for her not to notice a red form on the sand, or one approaching from the side. Aza set the carcass down so that she could speak, gaze focused primarily on the distant male - the colors and bulk of his mane made it obvious.
He was red, red just like a descendant of the Blood, like herself and the lioness now beside her, but she recognized him not at all. "I do not know," she answered her new companion, "I'm quite sure I've never seen him before."
"I think we should let him come to us. See if he has the guts." Azachamorel grinned at her fellow Firekin, bending to lift her burden again. "To answer your first question, I would be much obliged for some assistance."

For a moment Akamu just stood still and gazed down both females. He wasn’t quite sure of what to do, though apart of him felt attached to this place he was very uneasy about this whole situation. He grunted to himself and sighed, figuring that if he played his cards right he could come and go without any trouble. He didn’t want trouble after all.
Slowly he moved himself forward and started toward both females, keeping his head held reasonably high. He couldn’t show weakness, not in this pride. He remembered his father telling him that, back before the sickness came and killed him, along with his mother. In fact, that’s why Akamu left, he didn’t want to die.
Flexing his claws out some he stopped just a few feet from them and spoke out with narrowed eyes.
“I do not mean to intrude; I wish to pass without any conflict. I have come in search of kin and that is all.”

Motobi'ata churned a light growl in her throat, and looked at the male directly in the eyes. "Alright, lets see what he does ..." She grinned, slanting her eyes, tail flicking lightly about on the sandy ground. As he approached, she backed up slightly, folding her ears back. As he spoke, she came closer, baring her teeth.
"Who are you searching for, exactly?" She questioned the male. She turned to view the lioness, a confused look on her face. She'd never seen this lion before, ever. ... And now he expected to freely walk right in without a conflict?

Although her reaction to the stranger's approach was not quite so overtly hostile as Motobi'ata's, Azach was clearly not a lioness to be tangled with, and though a male might be larger, there were two lionesses here. She stood with her ears confidently forward while her tail gave the telltale lash of a predator's. Her red gaze rested heavily on the male.
"Who are you?" she demanded, "And whom do you seek? What right do you have to walk the sand demanding safe passage?"
That was something for Blood only, and if he claimed to be what his fur suggested, she would happily escort him to Kimeti.

“I have no right, but I never demeaned it. I simply wish for that type of outcome. My eldest sister, the last time I saw her was here, so I assumed that she could still be here after all of this time.”
Akamu’s green eyes narrowed as he sighed and gazed at the two females before him. They made he think of his cub hood and brought back some memories he thought he had lost forever.
“I grew up in this godforsaken place but back then it was not like it is now. Death took my family’s life and thus I left to save my own.”
He didn’t seem to have a nasty temper at all; in fact… he seemed very full-hearted when he spoke. He didn’t want to be upset or bitter about it all. He kept his cool.

Motobi'ata didn't exactly know what to respond with, so she looked to her new friend to see what she had to say. "Well, who is your sister? ... Her name, please?" Her golden eyes kept a close watch on the male. He was fairly large and had the colours, but ... just didn't seem to have the personality of a Firekin. It just didn't add up.
"So instead of helping your family, you stranded them and left to save your own life? ... how sad."

"This place is not godforsaken," Aza hissed, "Or had you forgotten that we are Finar-si's own children?" For one who claimed to be Blood, he seemed woefully lacking in pride.
The huntress looked to Motobi'ata, then back at the male. "Perhaps we should take him to Kimeti."

“Hah, when I woke up from my sleep that night they were already dead. My mother and father. My sister had left before I did, so when I couldn’t find her I ran too. I was young and weak but child do not question my motives, I was the only son of my father’s litter, had I not lived I would have let him die in vain.”
He hissed some, flashing his white fangs. He may have talked sweet talk but his anger was showing now.
“And when I was small, this place was just that. The sickness took my life away from me, MY family, so it was godforsaken in my eyes.”
True, times had changed but he still felt anger toward everything about this place, simply because he knew he could never see his father and mother again.
“And my sister is called Ulamali; she is a white coated lioness with eyes like my own.”

Moto grinned. "Maybe we should take him to Kimeti, if he thinks he can talk like that about our lands ..." She just smiled as he told his little tale. "Its a shame that your parents died. I'm sure they were much more proud of their lands than you ever were."
She rolled her eyes, as she looked back to the other lioness. "Anyways, Uncle will be glad to take care of our little friend here ..." She slanted her eyes happily.

"And so it did mine, yet from my lips falls no blasphemy!" This lion was testing her patience, and severely. Though she had all respect for members of the Blood, traitors and blasphemers were no better than rogues to her. Any sympathy she might have shared with him was rapidly drying up.
"Yes," she agreed with the lioness who had revealed herself to be Kimeti's niece, "Perhaps the king knows where your sister is."

“Take me to whoever you want.”
He spoke out with a quick tongue, shrugging off any feeling of worry he had. He may have lost pride within this pride but the pride he had inside still stood strong.
“But I have to ask, has the pride become more fruitful and have the lands grown, even after such horrific event? Because I have seen the land of the Mist and river and they have not changed after falling ill to the sickness, in fact, they are drier then even the sands here..”
Apart of him felt twisted talking about it like that but, at the same time he wanted to spark something within the lioness’s emotions.
He paused some and spoke out.
“My Pride never died, but simply went into an idle state until I returned. You both seem like strong, smart lionesses- if they pride as a whole is anything like you two than that gives me something to have pride in.”
He gave them both a rather dark grin. What on earth was he doing?
“I have been gone way too long, maybe it is best if I talk to the king.”
He didn’t seem to mind the idea at all. Why was he acting that way?

"The lands have flourished once more, thanks to Uncle, and the return of many old members. Cubs are plentiful, more than ever. As is the slaves ..." She wasn't too excited about the whole slave idea herself, but she just shrugged. "Hey, if you want to see him, then so be it. We will gladly take you there, but theres no telling what he will ask or do to you. Hes quite the King, even I don't bother trying to converse with my uncle." She chuckled slightly, and then glared back at the male.
"Well, then your Pride should return soon, as soon as you see all the new life in the lands that you seem to have think died soo long ago ..."
