Elle had plastered up several small notices of 'kid's reading time' in the daycare and the school. She wasn't expecting many kids, maybe a few babies, Elle didn't think any of them would really be interested in a live reading of 'Fuzzle-Lord and the Rainbow Army from Venus' and 'There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly'...even if they did have big shiny pictures.

She'd set up the children's corner of the library, even without any expectation of kids turning up, it had beanbags scattered, toys, piles of plush book shaped cushions and a bright colorful rug that was an enlarged map of Barton complete with toy cars. Elle had figured that the less they took notice of her precious tearable, rippable, dirty...able books and the more they paid attention to toys the better. That was, if they showed up at all.
