It had been a few days since his initial awakening, and all Naraka could focus on was the pain. His limbs and back ached, along with the sharp pain of his head whenever he looked into the direct sunlight. Images of horrors flashed across his closed eyes during his sleep, depicting monsters he could not remember from his past. His eye where he got cut was all but sealed shut and his emotional state was at an all time low.

When he got down to it, Naraka was at a loss, injured and alone in this world he could not remember. And by his side, was a lioness who just happened to come by at the right time and offer redemption and healing to his battered form.

Turning, he paused and settled down with a bit of a whine, legs all but giving out in the process and a pout forming on his maw. It was hard to travel any distances, and all he wanted to do was curl up and sleep. But with one look at the female who offered a chance for a home, he pushed himself until he could go no further.

"I'm sorry...for being such a pain to you...when you could be traveling so much faster and all I do is stop more than I walk..." His eyes fell downcast and he let out another groan from moving his neck just the right way to cause pain throughout his body.

Motobi'ata had aided the male in walking through the baren lands to her own home. It was still a long walk, but it was worth the wait. She would love to show the lands to him, give him the chance to see its beauty. She loved the desert, but she knew other lions hated it, if they never grew up in it or experienced it first paw. But, she knew it all. Her siblings were gone, and it was just her and her parents, every now and then. Her den was freakishly lonely, silent, quiet. So, it was nice to see a -red- lion somewhere.

She looked at him, smiling. "Don't feel bad or sorry for me. You are nothing compared to pain. You are what i've needed all alone, truthfully. A simple friend. Thats ... all I ever wanted as a child. Thank you for well, being in the desert. If it weren't for you, i'd be coming home empty-handed." She smiled lightly, and helped drag him on. It wouldn't be long before the two were once again back in the boarders of the lands she knew all too well.

His black ears fell as he looked up through the blood-red bangs of his mane, eyes trained onto her form as she smiled warmly towards him. Deep down, it felt a bit wrong to be treated so sweetly, but all he could do is push that thought behind him as he slowly returned the smile with his own half-sort of grin.

"I guess you are right..." He murmered out in a sort of whisper, still a bit soar for unknown reasons everywhere, "I just wish I wasn't a hindrance to you..." Trailing off once more, he made a bit of an effort pushing himself up, his black-gloved paws shaking slightly until he was all the way up and his eyes dulling a bit from the pain. Yet, by the time he was up and ready to go, he was able to push it aside and focus back onto the female beside him.

"Friends?" He echoed suddenly, looking to her with a bit of confusion, "You consider me a...friend?"

Her eyes lit up as she looked to him, watching him attempt a smile. Though, she frowned as he spoke. "You are not a hindrance to me. I have no problem in aiding you. I may not be the greatest Firekin around, but atleast I try my best. I'm just ... not like them at all. I don't like their attitude. Their wanting to enslave others. Its ... wrong." She blinked, looking back up at him.

"Yes, I consider you a friend. Your coming back to the lands with me, aren't you? Maybe you can come back to my den with me, and I can hide you there. I don't want to be in trouble for bringing back an outsider ... but, you need my help more than anything right now, if you want to heal correctly."

His eyes widened a bit at the stories, still unsure about the pride and his journey there. He felt weak, and going to a place where outsiders were enslaved was not a good idea in his opinion. But still, Moto had been nothing but a goddess to him, and he had nothing else to turn to.

"They don't sound like you...you are the opposite of those...monsters," He spoke softly as he tried to hold her gaze, but flinched and turned away, "You're right though, without you I probably wouldn't have the will to go on...waking up alone...thank you..." He hobbled over to her side and nuzzled her like a lost cub for a second, before pulling away and flashing a weak smile.

"Ah, of course, they're nothing like me. I'm different because of my parents and well, my family. My father isn't like the other Firekin, and well ... neither and I. And on top of that, I'm a runt. I was the weakest of the five of us cubs. Of course. Though, that does not matter to me. As long as I show my Uncle what a true Firekin is about. It doesn't involve slaves, and hurting one another. He just doesn't understand it like I do." She sighed, her eyes closing as she continued walking ahead. It was depressing to even think that her Uncle, the King Kimeti was the cause of all the fighting and slave use in the pride. Or well, mostly the creators of the pride, but he kept the fire going, for sure.

She continued padding along, thinking about the pride, and how much she really ... didn't like it. She was only staying for the sake of her parents.

Walking beside her, he quietly listened to all that she had to say, lending an ear without much to reply to. In his mind, he tried not to be biased, but as she spoke he found himself drawn to her side, only seeing that as how things should be. It just didn't sound right, from the way Moto came across and the passion she used.

"...have you tried talking to him?" He asked softly, blinking to her as the answer seemed so simple in his mind.

She widened her eyes in shock, as he even dared mention that to her. "Speak, to my Uncle, the King of the Firekin? ... do you want me killed? If I even mention to him that I have no speck of evil in my blood, i'd be banished from the lands for eternity. And I do not want to do that to my father and mother ... they love me so much."

She looked around, peering for the pride's boarders. They must've been coming soon, or she hoped it was!

"I..." He trailed off, unable to reason as to why he said it, and simply just finished with a dull hum. When her eyes started to look about, he took the chance to study his surroundings as well, noting that the grass started to become sparse since the beginning of their conversation. Confused, he focused down upon his paws and blinked before turning back towards Moto.

"Are we nearing our home?" Unable to conceil the excitement that flowed through his words at the idea, as well as a bit of nervousness, he continued on, "I'd love to meet your family...if they are anything like you, I really have given a lucky break..."

She rolled her eyes as he trailed his mind off. Though, as he asked if they were close, she turned to him and grinned. "Yes, we are. But, theres something I have to tell you. Guards could be anywhere near the boarder, so its safe if you pretend to be my slave capture of the day. Theres no telling what they will do if they get a hold of you, or well what Uncle will do."

She looked around, trying to find what direction to go in. "Only my father would trust you, while my mother ... shes a little bit different. Though I don't know ... "

Shifting, he soon enough paused at her grin, stalling a bit as he looked at her with surprise, "Wait...but didn't you say I looked like a firekin? Can I not pose as a firekin instead..." The idea of a slave sent a shiver down his spine, much akin to how he felt when he drempt of the monster.

Shifting once again, he took a deep breath, and not even letting her respond, he quickly took all the courage he could find and nodded, "But alright, I think I can pass as a slave, it shouldn't be too hard...right?"

He looked to her for support, she was all he had to lean on right now, and he knew right than he could trust her and follow her anywhere.

"Yes, go ahead and pretend to look like a Firekin. But, they know who lives here." She padded forward with him, and smiled. "Glad you see it my way ..." As they approached the boarder, she paused. She viewed the area before moving on. They were now in the lands that Motobi'ata was quite used to being in. "Here we are, the Motoujamii. ... come with me. My den is very close to here."

She walked faster, almost dragging the large male along. Thankfully no one was around to notice her suspiciousness just yet. Her heart began to beat quickly, as she raced towards her home. "Almoooostt there ..." They headed straight for her den, and then stopped right at its opening. It was right into a sand dune, though, it was made out of stone, which kept it fairly cool inside. She stood by the opening and allowed the lion to go inside. She peered around curiously before following him in.

He kept silent after that, and througout the rest of their quick travels through the lands. Instead, he took in the sight of the large sea of sand that stretched before him. He could see what Moto meant, the beauty that surrounded him and seemed to seep into the holes of his soul. Completeness filled him the second he stepped into the sand and his paw sunk in. Smiling like a cub, he grinned and moved a bit faster with a slight hop in his step. He was home.

By the time they got to the den, Naraka felt a bit of the anxiety Moto was feeling. So, when he moved inside, he let out a breath before falling to his belly with the last of his strength. For some reason, he had forgotten all about his weakness, the heat healing instead of hindering.

"Everything here is amazing..." He said at last, lying his head on his paws and just letting it all sink in.

She came inside and sat by the opening to block off the heat, it was a fairly small den, but it was a good enough size for the two of them, and a few more. Motobi'ata simply watched him reactions to the land, and then nodded. "Yeah, you kinda get used to it after growing up around it all your life. I think its rather boring here, but thats because I never had any friends. My father babied me until I left on my own, but I came back because I got so used to the dunes that I just didn't want to leave."

She turned and looked outside at the lands, at their beauty.

Keeping silent once more, he turned and faced outside as well, crawling on his belly a bit until he was next to her and flashing her a grin.

"Well now you have a friend right?" He said softly, turning to look outside as well and bask in the moment of silence, "And hopefully when I'm all better, I can get more of a look at everything around here...but for now I think I better rest..." It was meek, and he realized how for the first time since he woke up, it was easy to talk and think of the words. With that new hope in mind, and the new lands to live in, he let out a large yawn and lowered his head to his paws.

"Thank you Moto...for everything."
