((I wasn’t sure if this was the appropriate place to put this, but I hope it’s alright. It’s based outside the basic learning classes))
“Oh! Geeze!” a voice yelped through the hall, ricocheting only to magnify the problem. Vibrant eyes grew wide and as they glanced down a soft sigh escaped the lips of the one that looked out through those orbs as brown strands fell before them. Across the floor stained dozens of papers all hand written notes the teen had worked on throughout the school year that had fallen from his shoulder bag and now polluted the hall.
The boy leaned forward, taking into his hand a few of the papers to start the tedious task of replacing them in his bag hopeful this little fiasco wouldn’t repeat itself. He already suffered enough embarrassment and though the problem was escaladed he still felt foolish for having allowed this to happen.
Instead of the outfit the boy was well known for throughout the school, it being rather unique, he wore a plan white shirt and blue jeans to match. The only accessory he had to offer was a brilliant cross necklace that laced past his neck and hung as he started to shuffle some of the papers back into his bag. The piece of metal glimmered as a ray of light from a near by window spindled off it, creating tendrils of shimmering light sparkling in every direction.

[[I am going to assume Scy just bumped into Elijah...]]
"Crap!" was all Scyeth managed to get out before he hit the ground and sprawled across the floor. Maybe there was something to that 'don't skateboard in the hallway' thing. He grunted, pushing himself to his feet quickly and began to brush off his pants. Well. At least the floor didn't stain. He glanced over, searching for his skateboard. Ah, it had just rolled down the hall a little.
After retrieving the checkered board, he could look up and notice the other student. Well, he didn't look hurt. His papers were just everywhere. Scyeth raised his eyebrows, tucking his board under his arm. "Hey. Sorry about that," he said, not bothering to offer to help clean up the papers. The other boy seemed to be doing fine on his own. "Didn't see you, I guess." He did come around the corner really quickly. "I'm new here," he added, as thought that excused his misbehavior.
"The name is Scyeth. Who are you?"

Elijah glanced up for the first time actually laying eyes on the thing, or rather, person he had run into. And all this time he thought he had been clumsy, which wasn't anything unusual, and had ran into an open door. A flush crossed his cheeks in embarrassment before he gave a smile. "I'm so sorry,'' he apologized, not at all wanting to offend the blond teen.
It was then that he took in what he had said and registered that the boy standing there was actually one of the two new students and as he realized this his grin widened.
"Nice too meet you Scyeth. That's a cool name," he commented before continuing, "I'm Elijah. And again, I'm really sorry for all of this."
Finally after another trip to the floor he managed to gather the rest of his papers and stuff them into his bag quickly before making eye contact with the other teen once more.
"So you're one of the new students. Welcome to Shinkami," looking over the student he noticed the checkered board and smiled, "Cool, nice board."

Scyeth blinked. Didn't he crash into the boy, and not vice versa? Whatever. If he wanted to apologize for it, Scy wasn't about to stop him. He shrugged it off, an easy grin spreading across his face. "It's cool, man. Don't sweat it," he said, waving his free hand nonchalantly.
"Elijah, huh? Seriously dude. Don't worry about it. I don't care." He shrugged. His pants were fine and his board was fine, so there was absolutely no reason for him to be upset. "Huh? Oh, thanks." People here seemed really friendly. Huh. That wasn't bad, he supposed. Not as interesting as it could be, but he'd take it.
Of course, Elijah instantly found the way to Scyeth's heart, complimenting his skateboard like that. "Thanks! Ain't she grand?" His skateboard as a little beat up, but 'she', as Scyeth referred to her, was his prized possession. He'd never trade her away. "Customized her myself." He grinned a little wider. "Do you board?" How awesome would it be if he had a fellow boarder?

He was glad the other teen hadn't been injured in anyway after their collide and dismissed the subject completely when he heard Scyeth's reassuring words. 'Lijah shrugged slightly and shook his head at the question.
"I tried it a while back and never could get the hang of it. I know its one of those things you practice, but trust me, it's just not my forte. I admire anyone who can do it though, I know how difficult it can be," he answered glancing again to the board before meeting Scyeth's eyes.
He found it amusing the relationship between the boy and his board, but not because it was odd. Quite the contrary, it was natural for humans to grow attached to an object that in one way or another pleased them. For some it was cars, for others books, and for Scyeth, his skateboard.
"I wouldn't be surprised if someone else here does, though. I don't know many other students, but there are plenty and I'd search around. Perhaps you'd find someone to skate with sometime."

Scyeth's blue eyes sparkled and the boy practically preened at the words of praise. Because, you know, he definitely needed someone to stroke that ego of his. "I've been doing it forever," he stated proudly, puffing his chest a little. He dropped his darling board to the ground, putting one foot on it. "My dad never liked it much, but I think that was half the fun when I was younger. Now, it's just like...the best thing." There weren't really words to explain skateboarding. He just...belonged on that piece of wood.
Maybe he'd bump into some of the other kids (not quite so literally, though). He'd have to look around for anyone else on a board, but since he was here, "Well, what about you? What do you do for fun, then?" According to Scyeth, skateboarding was the source of fun and often found it hard to believe others could be enjoying themselves without a skateboard in their vicinity.
"...you guys do have fun at school, right?"

The teen noticed Scyeht's pride and figured it was nothing but normal. When someone has a passion for something it tended to be the one thing about them they expressed openly. That grin continued and listening to him he nodded perfectly believing him. His hand shifted onto his book bag as he took on a little more of a relaxed stance instead of leaning slightly forward as he had before similar to a submissive mutt.
And then Elijah was asked a question. "I would hope so, if students didn't find a way to have a little fun every once in a while they'd go insane. Studying can't be everyone's life," he spoke before continuing after a very short pause, ''I do various things...depends on how bored I am and if I have time for something that may take more effort. I sketch, take photographs every once in a while...nothing much, but it keeps the boredom at bay."

Oh, thank gods and goddesses alike. That was pretty close to then answer Scyeth needed to hear. If this school was all studying, he might very well have to rip out all his hair and go mad. Which would be a shame, really, because he has such luscious blond hair. "So...do we get enough free time to do fun stuff?" he asked cautiously. Getting worked to the bone would definitely put a hamper on his plans to explore the school via skateboard.
On that note, he didn't entirely plan to be the perfect student, either. Leave studying to the kids that actually cared. "What about the other kids? Do you guys ever all get together to play football, or something? Good game." He nodded sagely, as if he actually knew what he was talking about. While he did enjoy football, he'd probably only played once or twice with some other kids out in the street, which was good fun, for the record.
[[he does mean soccer. as he is not american, he does indeed call it football.]]

((Cool))
He was glad to see the boy's relief knowing it would be killing if this school expected nothing but studying from their students. "Well, there are weekends and such when there is a lot more free time. During school days, however, it may be a little harder to find the time to do as you please," he answered and blinked his blue eyes though his curious smile never faded.
As for the next question he wasn't quite sure how to answer it correctly. "I've never played a game with anyone, but that could be because I've met only a few other students. But if no one has yet you could always be the first to round up a bunch of students and start up a weekly soccer game," he replied, presuming the boy meant football as in soccer. Being from the Untied States he was used to calling the sport one specific name, though was fully aware of what other countries referred to it as.

Huh. That was actually a very good idea! Scyeth bobbed his head. "Yeah, maybe I will. Is there a field around here we could use? Or a beach, or something?" He'd prefer the beach. It added an extra element, which was anything but bad. "Hey, I know. Since you already know some of the students here, you could help me gather up some guys to play!" he said, nodding.
Then something hit him. "...we'd need a ball, though. Would the school have one? Or do we have to buy one?" he asked, frowning. While he didn't exactly want to spend his money on a ball, he wouldn't mind taking a trip to the mall. He really did want to see it. "...do you think it would cost a lot?" he asked, scrunching his face a little further. He had better things to spend his money on. Like hamburgers. Or fries. Or skateboards!

He thought for just a second before answering the questions the other teen had for him. "Well, we are on an island, so I'm sure there are beaches all over the place. It's just getting too them that might or might not cause a problem," he spoke, finding the idea of playing in the warm sand rather amusing. And certainly he would help in the recruit for players when the time comes.
But then Scyeth made a good point and the blue hued boy was unsure how to answer him. "The school may have one, perhaps, but if they don't we'll have to visit the mall. I'm sure a simple ball won't cost that much but if it is too expensive all of us could put together the money we have to spare to get one, that way no one will have to spend all of their cash just get the ball."

Scyeth shrugged. "Well, how 'bout you find a ball, and when you do, c'mon tell me, yeah? And then I can round up people to play!" He nodded sagely, not really listening for Elijah's response. It didn't really matter, because he know how good he was at bugging people into doing things. Besides, football was a universal game. It should appeal to everyone, right?
He set his board back down and rested a foot on it. "I should probably get going, and you were on your way somewhere too, yeah?"
[[Sorry that took so long! x_X; School came to kill me. Anyhow. I figured mebbe we should wrap it up. xD;]]

((Sure thing, and that's alright, I've been pretty busy with school as well))
"Oh, sure thing," he said wondering how exactly he was going to do that but figured it would work out eventually if he put enough effort into it. Besides, the idea of a game sounded splendid; certainly something he wanted to give a go and he figured a hand full of the other students would as well.
Running a hand through his hair he gave a sheepish smile. "Oh you're right. Well it was great meeting you Scyeth. I'll get back to you on that soccer thing. I suppose I'll see you some time," his voice was light and immediatly kind.
