London lay beside a small lake, her fore paw dangling in the cool water. A tiny frown graced the lionesses' muzzle, displeased with herself. She'd handled herself just fine in her time away from her family... but she'd gotten just a bit too cocky in her hunting (one mis-step and those shimmers she bore sealed the deal). Not that she'd admit it. Her paw was still throbbing steadily from the sprain she'd suffered, only impounding her own annoyance. If she'd just moved a little faster, a little smoother... she knew deep down there was no point in beating herself up over it, of course. But that pang of frustration was still gnawing away in the back of her mind, writhing and twisting.

She sighed, allowing her chin to drop atop her uninjured paw. Some night this was panning out to be. The moon had hardly even begun to rise...

The moon's light was held at bay by a thick storm brewing. The Storm's Singer, Casalure, found himself free and clear in the flowing plains of the grassland... And had sung a little too enthusiastically when he called his joy to stars and sky. Oh well.. The clouds boiled iron and midnight, flooding across the sky as he stretched into an all out run, trailing behind him like the train of a gown.
He ran toward a distant scent, mind more on the clouds above than where he was headed... And he fairly tripped when he realized that a beautiful lioness lay at water's edge. Did he? Could it possibly be?
He stopped dead, ignoring the clouds that seethed above and begged to pour their load. "Lady London?"

The lioness' gaze snapped upwards at the sound of that familiar voice, heart skipping a beat in spite of her best efforts to keep her cool.

As though it were that simple. He was stunning as he'd always been, from that unearthly glow right down to the sudden spurt of clouds that seemed desperate to lap at his heels. Some night this was panning out to be, indeed.

London swallowed hard, flashing him a sweet little smile. Easy. Had to make this one count; she'd been delighted to find her father again, but this was the reunion she'd been secretly longing for. Would he see the perfection she'd strove so hard for? "Sir Casalure, " she purred in turn, dipping her head politely.

She pulled herself to her paws whilst giving one eloquent sweep of her sparkling feathers -- well, mostly. Her paw, already forgotten, had put a neat little hitch in her performance. The lioness hid a wince by brightening her smile just a touch, trying her hardest to subtly shift the weight away from the sprain. "It's been a long time, " she said smoothly, relishing every moment those glowing eyes were trained in her direction. Too long.

Casalure smiled, pleased he had come this way.. Pleased he had summoned the storm and run as fast and far as he could while he raced the storm. Overjoyed that he had stumbled across the lovely Lady London, whom he had not seen since they were young...
And stars was she lovely...
Sparkles across her face and tailfeathers glinted like captured stars, only enhancing her loveliness... Her eyes fixed on him pulled a smile out before he could dim it, and he ducked his head shyly.
"It always a pleasure to see you London..." He purred. "My Lady...."
He noted the weakness of one delicate forepaw. "London? Are you well?"
He stepped to her quickly, concern on his face.

London managed to keep herself collected, though it grew five times harder when that smile spread across his muzzle. She'd almost forgotten just how much she'd missed it. It was every bit as endearing as it had ever been... in her eyes, every bit as striking as the pyreflies that swarmed about him. The lioness ducked her own head as subtly as she was able as that purr of a voice washed over her, a pleasant chill traveling down her spine. "The feeling is mutual." If only.

Her eyes widened just slightly as she realized he'd noticed, those sparkles that shone around them reflecting in those dark blue depths. The effect was hidden away in a flash as she ducked her head for a second time. "I-it's nothing, " she said quickly, smiling sweetly as before. (And inwardly cursing her own clumsiness.) "Just a little sprain. I... " Completely bungled a hunt? That wouldn't do at all. "... had a little misstep earlier." That was better. A little.

He smiled gently as she confessed she was pleased to see him, and he gently nuzzled her cheek. She truly was lovely.. But surely she had no clue how much she meant to him... If she did... He tried not to let himself hope...
"A misstep?" He asked, still concerned. He curled his body against the side with the injured leg, lifting the hurt paw and brushing his nose lightly over her fur. A sprain... It would heal, with time..
"Lean against me." He rumbled softly, nosing her cheek. "I will escourt you home..."
'I would so love to take you to mine... Or to stay with you...' He added silently.

London could've cursed herself for the tiny purr that rolled in her throat at all the tender attention he gave... though maybe it wasn't such a bad thing after all. It was subtle. Subtle was good. She couldn't help the surge of warmth that came oh-so dangerously close to staining her cheeks when he showed so much honest concern for her well-being.

She peered through her bangs as she smiled shyly up at him, slowly easing her weight against his strong side. So close; she could feel her heart racing already. It was so good just to be near him again, especially like this. "Thank you, Sir Casalure... so much." The lioness licked at her lips, giving a soft sigh that stirred the fur of his mane. What would he do, she wondered, if she buried her face there? Hid away from the world in his grasp? "But... " She hesitated, in a way that may have been awkward had she been anyone but herself. "I'm afraid I have no home to be escorted to."

Calure just barely snapped his teeth open on those condemning words... 'Then I shall take you to mine...'
Oh this female was so dangerous.... Vasire would have his hide if he did anything stupid... Hmm... Yet...
"Well.. There is a cave I know nearby... A small den... It would comfortably house maybe three... I could take you there, and bring you food.. There is a small stream beside it, with a pleasant little fall... And a few friends of mine visit there often, so you would not want for company.. We would all be there.. And if you grew well enough and wished to leave, well... You could, of course..."

At Casalure's words, London's eyes shone brighter than the sparkles that twinkled about them. "It sounds lovely, " she murmured, smiling sweetly at the male by her side. "I think I'll rather like it there." She already knew now that leaving was the last thing on her mind. So long as he wanted her there, there was no where else she'd rather be.

She purposely let silence wash over them for an instant before she tilted her head, leaning up to nuzzle gently right where the edge of his jaw melded into neck and mane. "Thank you, Sir Casalure." She let the trace of a purr seep into her voice now. "You've always been so good to me."

Pleased beyond words at her nearness, Casalure purred softly and returned the nuzzle. London was different than many of the females he'd met... She did not fawn or fall at his feet.. She was strong, but accepted help when she was in need of it, rather than pushing herself and doing further harm.. She was smart...
Here's hoping she was understanding...
"The friend I spoke to you of... I... I do not want you to fear him, London..." He said softly. "He is a Prince, but rather roguish in his ways.. He is seductive and smart... But he would never harm one who did not earn such a fate... I only say this because I know he can be unsettling at first, but..."
'He is dear to me...'

That simple, soft little purr was music to her ears. How could she do anything but give one of her own to join the chorus when he returned the gesture? The fact that she was standing with him here at all like this... she could still remember the way her chest had ached when her precious friend had reached adulthood and left her behind. It had felt like a goodbye, then, no matter how hard she hoped it wasn't. But now, here they were. Walking side by side, sharing nuzzles beneath the cloudy night sky... such simple things. But they were precious to her.

"Then I'll just have to be sure not to merit that fate, " she said, giving a playful little wink. "You need not worry, Sir Casalure." The lioness met his gaze, confidently. "I'm not so easily scared off." Although she didn't know what the male was thinking, she knew he called him friend. That was enough reason to give him benefit of a doubt, wasn't it? "Besides... he sounds interesting, " she added, chuckling softly. "This could be fun."

"He's a flatterer." Cas murmured, more to himself than her. A smile streched across his face at the thought of the dark-coated male who -he hoped- waited for him. Vasire... They had met long ago, he couldn't even remember how.. Though the first encounter was still fresh in his mind.
He ducked his head as a blush spread across his cheeks, then shook it off. "Here's hoping you get along then... This way... We're close."

Vasire uncurled in a stretch, mouth gaping open in a silent yawn. He blinked once before rising to his feet with a much grace as he could master. He shook out his dark mane and grinned, a flash of white in the indigo of his fur. Pacing to the entrance of the cave, he could smell the storm on the air. Of course, there was no one outside. Vas stared into the darkness for a moment before striding back into the cave. Casalure was near by, somewhere. Vasire snorted. It would probably take the other male most of the night to find his way here, the way he meandered with his storms. He settled down in the far back of the cave, his dark coat blending in with the inky darkness. Only his eyes shone from where he was, two tantalizing points of light in the blackness. Even the moon's light didn't reach this far. His lay his head on her paws, eyes mostly closed now. He was content he was as invisible as he could be. His scent would linger, of course, but they had been here for so long, their scents were all but embedded in the walls. A smirk turned his lips and he waited.

Casalure pranced along, his spirits soaring as a storm cloud swept across the sky, trailing at his heels. He eyed the sky with glittering, glowing eyes, longing to make a storm rage... Those were his happiest times, when outside a tempest raged... And inside...
Inside he curled happily around Vasire.
"Soon... Soon." He assured himself more than London.

London could sense it, too. She would have had to have been blind to miss it. The closer they got, the more palpable the excitement stirring around him became. Like electricity. She smiled softly, "This friend... he's very important to you, isn't he?"
