The Cruiser Division still going Strong
This past Sunday saw the crowning of a new cruiser champion. This time, it was one of the most decorated athletes of all time. That's right, the Heartbreak Kid has won the championship. After a showstopping performance in a triple threat match in which he was added as a surprise entrant, he managed to pin former Cruiser champion Trish Stratus, who by the way was not the champion at this point in time. We stop to speak with Brandon Damone, the man who walked in as champion about the loss.
Brandon: Look, I'm going to make this short, sweet and to the point. I've always admired Shawn Michaels, and it's great to see that he can still put on a show. I promised that things would heat up in the cruiser division and it has. However, this is just the beginning. You see, i want my rematch, and i'm going to get it this week on Impact. Look at it this way Shawn, you'll help make another Damone's career.
After this short speech from the former champion, we turn to the current champion, Shawn Michaels for his comments.
HBK: Hey, if Brandon wants his rematch, there's not much i can do. However, I think i should warn him now that there's no way I'm going to make this easy for him. Since Jarel asked me to join this division, I have every intent of making it just as popular in XCW as the Undisputed title. I mean, let's face it, i add prestige to any belt i hold. and i don't plan on losing this one anytime soon. So bring it on kid, because once again the Heartbreak Kid is going to take another young upstart to the top of the mountain, and kick him right back off it.
