Calder had spent most of the morning tidying his office, and then went out to tidy the rest of the apartment, which was already immaculate. So tidying mostly meant moving the sparce decorations back and forth and eventually right where they'd started again. He'd had little in the way of work the past few weeks (because, really, running an English class was more like play for the kids at the level they were at), and the sidhe was incredibly restless.
Eventually, after moving a small statuette for the third time, he abandoned 'tidying' and put a pot on the stove. Taki and Irelia had disappeared in the middle of dusting the bookshelves in his living room, and he hadn't seen them since. He vaguely remembered something about bike-riding. He really should start paying more attention to Taki. The boy had a terrible habit of wandering off in strange places.
It was a good five or ten minutes before the kettle would boil, and Calder left the kitchen to wander across the hall, knocking lightly on Asher's door.

Asher had been very happy and surprised when Irelia announced that she would be taking her leave for the day, biking some odd vehicle around town at break-neck speeds, with the ever-vigilant Taki at her side. Asher was pretty sure Irelia wouldn't kill herself or Taki, but made sure that she was firmly padded before sending her trotting off.
Asher was just sitting on his couch, rejoicing in the simple pleasure of silence when a familiar knock filled his ears. Sitting straight up, he turned towards the door, his heart beating rapidly.
Asher opened the door, and was instantly met with the alluring presence of the beautiful Sidhe. It took Asher's breath away, as it did everyday, and his voice cracked as he invited Calder in.
((oh god its like i am writing a bad romance novel))

"Actually... I just put the kettle on for some tea... If you'd like to come over, and have some..?" Calder offered, gesturing vaguely behind himself. "I can go turn it off, too, if you'd rather stay here."
((XD My post is crap too, dun worry /3))

Asher nodded.
"That would be... enjoyable." Asher put the stress on the last word.

"All right," Calder said, and smiled before he strode across the hall, holding the door open for Asher. Well, he may not be bored and alone anymore, but the issue still remained. What was there to talk about? "How is your pottery coming along?" he asked idly, bustling around the kitchen, setting the teapot out, along with two cups, and the tea itself. "If you let me know when your next show is, I'll be sure to make an appearance," he added, catching the kettle just before it began whistling, and poured the water into the teapot with the practiced air of having done it so many times that it was almost second nature.

Asher smiled weakly.
"I would have invited you last time, but I was too embarressed. I thought that they were going to laugh me out of the gallery, not stuff wads of money in my pocket."
Asher accepted the tea gratefully, and sipped quietly.
"I don't have any new pieces complete yet, so the next show won't be for awhile."
The silence stretched between them, intermitted with the clink-clank of the china cups as they were picked up and set down on the saucers.
"Calder... I think we better- I mean, we never discussed..." Asher had turned towards Calder quickly, and almost spilled his tea on himself in the process. A couple of strands of platinum hair had fallen from its tie, and Asher's glasses were slipping from his long nose.

"You shouldn't be embarrassed by your art," Calder said softly in a retort, but offered a smile as he sipped his own tea. He spent most of the silence staring into his tea, watching the little bits of tea leaves settle in the bottom of the cup.
When Asher started speaking again, Calder glanced up, and one hand reached out as the tea sloshed dangerously in the cup, then retreated, and Calder cleared his throat quietly. "We never discussed what?" he asked, tricolored eyes meeting blue as he leaned forward on the counter, elbows propped on the countertop.

((ROFL. Calder is making me as uncomfortable as he's making Asher XD... In a good way, though))
Asher gulped. He wanted Calder to take the lead, wanted Calder to understand what was in his heart... He didn't want to have to tell him! Asher was as uncomfortable as a bear in pajamas and he started fiddling with his hair, his nervous habit. Asher opened his mouth to start, then stopped, and pondered for a moment. Asher wasn't sure of Calder's feelings, the Sidhe seemed to spend a lot of time with Asher but Asher wasn't sure if that was due to Calder being friendly, or because he lived across the hall. Unfortunately for Asher, who wanted to hide from his feelings, Irelia had thrown a fit until Asher had agreed to live close to Calder and now Asher was stuck across the hall from the man who he wanted to...
Asher blushed. His thoughts were getting away from him again, and he was certainly glad that Irelia was out at the moment. Irelia never said anything, just threw her book at him if he started thinking obscene thoughts. At least I don't have to teach her about the birds and the bees; I think she knows more than enough right now
With a start, Asher lifted his head and stared in to Calder's eyes.
"A debt. I owe you a debt for helping me out with Irelia," His hands were still fidgeting with his scarf, and his hair had come undone, and framed his face like a pale white wreath, "You can request anything of me."
Asher said the last almost too softly to hear.

Calder couldn't quite read the emotions flooding through Asher's face, and thus wasn't entirely sure how to react, much less what to say. Particularly when Asher's face turned a very violent shade of red. He looked a little wild and dissheveled with his hair falling around his face like that.
"Er..." Calder paused, then rethought his answer. "Well, I don't really... You don't owe me anything, Asher." It was almost completely by reflex that he reached out, pushing Asher's hair out of his face, tucking it behind his ears while still being careful of his glasses. "As for requesting anything of you, well, I may have to think about that one for a while," he said, with a smile.
Unfortunately for both of them, he didn't know what he'd just done.

Asher gulped as the cool fingers brushed his face. If only i wasn't such a chicken.
Asher sighed and looked in to Calder's open face. If only HE would get the blatant point I am about to make here.
Asher put his cup on the table, and pulled himself on to the counter, all 6'5" of him. Sprawled on top of the counter like he was, Asher felt like an idiot, but he doubted that Calder would get the point unless he did something flashy. And drastic.
Leaning towards Calder, Asher grasped his face with his long hands, and pulled him towards the counter.
"What exactly do you think my intentions are towards you, you bloody idiot?"
And Asher leaned down and kissed Calder.

Calder barely had time to set his cup aside, and then Asher was on his counter, and his hands were on his face, and he was kissing him. Well, now everything made sense.
He was an idiot.
But he leaned right back into the kiss, fingers going up to rest on Asher's shoulder, the other propping him up on the counter. He couldn't help but smile through the kiss, murmuring against Asher's lips. "Muirnin..."
((It's a term of endearment that basically means "sweetheart" XD; *brick'd for SAP*))

((ASKSHDJKHFJDKFHEKJFHKEFEFE redface heart redface I CAN'T TAKE THEM THEY"RE SO CUTTEEEEEE))
Asher was faintly surprised that he wasn't being pushed off the counter. He was more than just a little surprised that Calder seemed to be enjoying himself.
But Asher was most surprised by the fact that suddenly his heart wasn't beating fast because of how scared he was to be rejected, but because Calder had whispered something that Asher couldn't understand literally, but understood completely what he meant.
Sliding off the counter, Asher broke the kiss, but didn't say anything as he looked at Calder.

Calder blinked in something that was a mix of surprise and something he couldn't quite define. And he didn't dare break the silence that fell across the room, because it seemed to be the only thing holding together the beginnings of this... relationship. Dare he call it that?
He smiled as he stared across the counter at Asher.

Asher grinned lopsidedly.
"Consider this payment," Asher smiled, and kissed Calder lightly, "and hopefully, it will take me a long, long time to finish paying you back."

((lawl. Well, Calder's dense enough that he'd never get the hint without Asher not acting like the uke he is XD Silly fae boy... even though technically he's an old fart))
Calder's smile widened, and he grinned right back, feeling like a boy. "Well, if tha's the kind of payment I'll be gettin' Ah hope so too," he replied, accent creeping into his speech. His fingers curled around Asher's hand, lifting it up, and Calder pressed soft kisses against Asher's palm. "It's been a long time."
