Jaha bent over the softly whispering river to get a drink. Although the river had every thing he needed; food, water, and shelter from the scorching sun. But it not have everything he wanted. Sure, most lions would like to have all of those things, he missed his mate Hadiya dearly. It was hard being a rouge; you wouldn't have a pride with other lions to keep you company, you wouldn't have hunters that would share their prey with you. You would have to do everything by yourself.
He swiped a fish out of the water an put it on his rock to dry. He lie down next to it to make sure nobody would take it. He preferred his fish dry and slightly chewy. He let out a deep sigh. he wondered when he would see another lion again, let alone any creature.

Nearby, a rather brightly-coloured wild dog slowly made her way towards the river. She took dainty little steps, reducing the amount of sand that was kicked up as she went. Apparently, she didn't want sand getting all over her pretty pink and white coat.
When she reached the river, she carefully walked down the bank in order to get a drink. It was only then that she noticed the lion lying just nearby. She frowned deeply and went back to watch she was doing, trying to ignore him. She wasn't a fan of lions at all, and thought they lacked the grace and intelligence that their species supposedly possessed. For her, wild dogs were far superior.

Jaha, although sometimes clumsy, was intelligent. Possibly less intelligent than Kisura but, still somewhat intelligent. Jaha's ears pricked as he heard the dainty little footsteps of the pink wild dog. As soon as he spotted her, he began to prove her right about his lack of grace as he bounded towards her at full speed, kicking up sand in the process. Seeing as he was going so fast, he spun and skit across the soft river sand, spraying water and sand in all directions.
After he had come to a complete stop, only a few inches from Kisura, he said breathlessly, "I'm Jaha. What's your name?". He shook off all sand and water that had hitched a ride on him on his run towards her This sent little sand and water flying but did make him look rather poofy. Then he just smiled, sill panting.

Kisura had very little time to react when the large lion came running towards her. Thankfully, she could tell that he wasn't coming to attack, so she simply braced herself for impact. "Eww!" She whined as he ran through the river, kicking up mud and water as he went.
When he reached her, she was just about to inform him of his stupidity when he shook out his fur all over her. "Ugh! You disgusting beast, get away!" Unable to protect herself from the onslaught of wet sand and water, she looked down at her now soiled coat in horror. "You idiot! Look what you've done!" Her perfect pink and white coat was now dotted with spots of brown, and most of her was now wet.

"Um... Sorry?", he said, completely unsure of why she was mad. He figured it would probably not be a good idea to argue about what he had or had not done. Oh well, the damage was done. The only way to make this better was to try to be friendly and apologize. He knew sometimes was a klutz and that sometimes he would not pay attention to what he was doing but, Kisura wouldn't that against him, would she? He hoped not.
"Um, why am I an idiot again?", he asked, tilting his head. He had obviously not noticed her soiled, pink, flowery coat. He still hadn't learned her name, but he decided not to ask again. Although Jaha was childish and sometimes slow to catch on, he knew that she was upset. He would just have to try to be careful of what he would say or do. That could prove quite hard for him. If he could just pay attention to what he was doing, he might not mess this up. As he was thinking this, completely unaware of his surroundings, he accidentally began to stare blankly into space. It appeared as if he were extremely fascinated by his own paws.

Kisura growled, the fur on her neck standing on end as she fought the urge to bite the clumsy lion's face off. "You're an idiot because..." She trailed off as she noticed that Jaha was staring down at his paws, seemingly oblivious to her moaning. "Are you even listening to me?!" Almost snarling now, she lowered her head and barked right down one of his ears in an effort to get his attention. "You're an idiot because you messed up my beautiful coat!"

Jaha shook his head in surprise to the sudden noise. "Huh? Wha?" he said as he tried to remember what had happened. Jaha had a habit of daydreaming mindlessly. Apparently, Kisura didn't like that. "Oh, I'm so sorry.", he said sleepily. This could easily be mistaken for sarcasm. He immediately began to try to rub off the sand from her coat. This did not help much considering the fact that he had sand all over his paws. He ended up simply smudging the sand deeper into her coat. "Oops.", he said quietly as he realized what he had done. How could he make someone so mad at him when they didn't even know them?

Kisura snarled and immediatly snapped at his paws. "You're making it worse!" It was unlike her to attack a lion, as although she didn't like them, she knew that they were strong animals. For this idiot though, she made an exception.
Having not been able to catch one of his paws in her mouth, she jumped back and crouched down into a fighting position, her teeth beared. To anyone watching from afar, it would've been quite a sight to see such a pretty pink Wild Dog acting so viciously. Kisura couldn't quite figure out what this lion's problem was. Perhaps he literally had something wrong with him? If that was the case, she probably shouldn't have gotten so mad at him. If this wasn't the case though, she had every right to be mad.

((So sorry for such a late post. Life has been crazy lately sweatdrop ))
Jaha, suddenly realizing that Kisura was very angry, jumped back in shock. He hadn't every been in a fight before. He had lived alone his whole life. His heart began to pound. How would he handle this. Trying to talk his way out of this seemed out of the question seeing as that was partly what got him into this mess. His plan was to just dodge her until she got tired. Fighting back would only be a last resort.

(( smile It's OK. ))
Seeing that the lion had no idea what to do, Kisura relaxed her muscles a little and let out a deep breath. She didn't want to fight either, as it would mess up her coat even more. Deciding that this particular lion wasn't the sharpest thorn in the rose bush, she attempted to calm herself down. After all, if he had wanted to mess her fur up on purpose, she would be looking a lot worse right now.
"Just watch what you're doing in future." She growled, still wary of the larger lion, as she was with all big cats. After all, it was wild dogs who ruled supreme in her mind.

Jaha was surprised by Kisura's sudden change of heart. He was very relieved though. Jaha knew he was strong, but he had never learned to control his strength in a violent matter. He could surely beat her in a fight, but then again, why on earth would he want to. The only time he would ever want to kill or injure anything was if he was going eat it or it was going to kill him first.
"I'm sorry I messed up your coat. I was just so excited to see someone. I have been so lonely lately. Ever since my mate left me. I haven't seen anyone. And that was months ago. I thought I was going to go crazy. So I got so excited and rushed over to you. I should have been more careful. But either way, pink is a pretty color. If you want, you could wash the sand off in the river.", Jaha said with an apologetic look. He didn't want to make her mad. He truly just wanted a friend.

Kisura acknowledged the male's apology with a reluctant nod of her head. "Like I said, just watch what you're doing in future." As he went on, she felt somewhat sorry for him, although there was no way she could relate. After all, this particular wild dog always found herself in the company of males that were eager to get to know her better. Ah, the joys of being beautiful.
When he complimented her, she smiled a little. She loved being complimented, even if it was by a lion. "Thank you." She replied, her tone of voice softening a little as she did so. Taking the male's advice, she carefully walked closer to the river bank and started dipping each paw in the river and shaking it off. She would have to give herself a proper clean later, but this would do for now.
"So, why did your mate leave you?"

"I will do my best", Jaha said. He decided to take a more sophisticated way of speaking, noticing Kisura seemed to prefer a calmer, quieter Jaha. Jaha smiled slightly as he noticed her voice soften. He disliked fights and was glad to avoid damaging her delicate frame. Besides, he was sure she wouldn't be very willing to be his friend if he had hurt her. He would try his very hardest to act his age.
"I really don't know why she left me.", Jaha said in a shaky voice. "One day I woke up and saw her. She didn't seem angry, but she seemed very upset. I asked her what was wrong but she ran off crying." A lone tear drop slid down silently down his face.

Kisura grinned as she noticed the slight change in Jaha's voice. Any male that made the effort to better himself in her presence deserved her appreciation. "By the way, my name is Kisura." She said with a small bow of her head, before listening to what the male had to say.
"Hmm, how weird." She mused, curious as to why anyone would just run away like that for no reason. Unless of course, it was a one-night stand and there wasn't much need to say anything the day after. If they were a mated couple though, she had no idea why the female would just leave like that. "Can you think of anything you might of said or done to upset her?" The somewhat bitchy side of Kisura wanted to follow up by saying something like 'did you ruin her coat like you did mine?', but she decided against it.
