I bought Harvest Moon a while ago. PS2, A Wonderful Life Special Edition. (Actually I also bought one for the Gamecube, non-special, but that's a long story involving misreading and objects no longer in America). I've heard a lot of people say how much they love this series. I played around for a bit then never picked it up again. After reading a lot of how much people enjoy it, I am wondering why you do. I never thought anything special of it. I'm thinking of trying it out again. Maybe I did not play long enough or perhaps I chose the wrong version of it? Are the newer Harvest Moons better than A Wonderful Life edition? Or is the first hour (or two) just not as good as the rest? I'm curious. I want to know. I haven't heard a lot on why people like the series and I would like some impute.

Well personally I don't think A wonderful life is a very good harvest moon game, I suggest Friends of Mineral Town for gameboy

Another Wonderful Life is a better choice for girl gamers cause, well, you're a girl. ^^
And yeah, playing it longer is a good idea. ^^

I liked A Wonderful Life because I got to influence my kid's career path, and I really wanted my kid to be either an artist or musician instead of a farmer. Watching the kid grow up is fun, and I can't think of any other Harvest Moons that give you that amount of control over the kid.

You probably just need to play longer. The first time I played A Wonderful Life I didn't like it but did when I played again later.

If Wonderful Life bored you, I agree and think that you would really enjoy
Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town.

Lunar Angel_13 You probably just need to play longer. The first time I played A Wonderful Life I didn't like it but did when I played again later. Hmmm, interesting, haha. I'm not the only one then. I've been taking some of the advice and started to replay the game. It HAS been more fun than I remember. I'm glad then. I like to make it a standard to own enjoyable games. I'm picky about what I buy, seeing how I have entirely 50 other hobbies to indulge in and can't afford them all, haha.

A Wonderful Life is different from alot of other Harvest Moons. Try Friends of Mineral Town for GBA or Magical Melody for GameCube. I also hear that Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon for DS is really good (can't wait to get it) whee

Some people just don't like Harvest Moon. I know I had this friend who liked every game I liked but when it came to harvest moon she couldn't stand it. It's just not everybody's cup of tea.

I think A Wonderful Life sucked a**. I don't see why everyone loves it so much.
Try Magical Melody. The character designs are a bit annoying (Why don't their freaking necks snap?! Their heads are huge!!) but it's a good game, better than AWL in my opinion 3nodding

I love friends of mineral town & more friends of mineral town myself. It'a my favorite.
The newest remake of that version on the PSP called Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl is also really good. But I still prefer the GBA remakes cause in those you can save whenever & therefor control the whether, & cheat on the horse races. blaugh
I have never cared for the consol versions of Harvest Moon. I feel the series is best on the handhelds.

Harvest moon is one of my fave. games,I really enjoy AWL cause' it's one of the few games where your child grows up,but you can also influence their career.But it get's rather boring after awhile.
But I think the one I like the most would have to be HM razz OH,because it has so many character to marry.
