Both have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to playing.

Anyways, I don't think magic armor is that good of a skill to have-- and is better invested in skills like magic guard.

Personally I chose the I/L mage over a F/P. :]

in my opinion;

fire wiz > all wiz

but

lit mage > all mages

Wait what do you mean you have high defence?

But I personally wish I leveld my I/L mage, F/P, just for the power. F/P mages get an AoE damage over time spell, and a fantastic Fire AoE spell.

But its all about preference I guess, but for power I would pick F/P

I think that a ice mage would probably be better then a fire mage...

I'm not quite sure yet. I've tried my friend's 63 fire wiz and got bored pretty easily, and I'm currently working on a lightning/ice one, but I can't make any proper judgement yet.

Ok i have a lit mage pure lit *Punches self* Why did i do that...but anyway i would go lit/ice and go pure ice to later.If you dont like that then go F/P and go pure fire then at later lvls you can max out poison if you want.

Go I/L because F/P's 3rd job poison fart doesn't depend on INT and it's damage takes awhile for you to get the experience. I/L on the other hand depends on INT and Matk so you don't have to wait for the experience.

First off, Magic Armor is pretty much completely pointless and not worth the skill points to get it. Magic Guard is your saviour, however.

As for the two wizard classes:

I/L is the most popular, it seems. And it's easy to see why. I/L wizards get a mobbing skill during the 2nd job advancement. F/P doesn't get one until 3rd job. Also, monsters are more weak against Ice and Lighting then they are Fire or Poison.

F/P wizards are kind of hard to level. However, they are the most powerful mages during the 2nd job class. In 3rd job, Poison Myst comes in handy. If you poison a monster you normally couldn't kill and run to a safe place (in the same map), you still get the final kill even if someone else kills it for you. This comes in handy in Ludi if you know how to use it.
