His visit with home over he'd wandered back around to the far side of the lake. He'd head toward the coast from there maybe since he hadn't been out that direction yet. The mountains held trouble he didn't want to get into again and toward the rest of the horizon just led to more and more grass. The coast sounded like it could hold something interesting for him to get into.
Shaking his head he headed down the bank so he could rinse some of the dust off his hide. He'd gotten horribly dirty and a bit of splashing around could fix that and then he could dry in the late afternoon sun.
The water was cold compared to the air and he sighed happily once he'd gotten himself out far enough that he could pretty much get his entire body under water.

 She had never been to the ocean before even if she had heard tales about it. There were things in the ocean that one could only dream about; horses that lived at sea, some with tails like fish instead of hind legs! At first the stories had frightened her but eventually the mystery and intrigue called to her, as many mysteries did. She wanted to know more and in search of that knowledge she went.
The sand kicked up around her hooves as she moved, glancing down from time to time as she saw a shell move. It was strange... But she supposed there had to be something under them. Something or... A sand spook.
She would have to ask Draven if sand spooks existed...

Clean and fresh he'd headed down to the beach at a gallop. The wind and sun dried his hide and by the time the dirt turned to sand under his hooves he was covered in dust again.
Ah well. At least he'd been clean for a bit.
Sticking his nose into some strangely overly green plants he snorted at them and wondered what they were. There was so much down here he'd never encounterd before and now he'd have to figure out what it all was and what could be done with it.

She looked up from the shiney rock she'd been nudging with her hoof, entranced by the way the colors shifted. Something was... Moving. Something not that far from her. Was it one of the sea creatures?
She moved slowly up over a nearby dune, peering down only to see....
A stallion with his nose in plants. She tossed her head back, laughing softly to herself. "Why... You're not a sea creature."

He looked up when he heard a voice and grinned at the mare. "Was ah suppose'ta be? Didn' get tha message." He straightened himself out from where he'd been bent over a dune and shook the sand off his nose.
He didn't know why she thought there'd be sea creatures all the way up here but maybe she knew something he didn't.

"Well, I'd heard tales of various creatures that live in and around the sea... And when I heard you move I thought you might be one of them." She nodded, smiling brightly as her wings shimmered in the ocean breeze, almost seeming nonexistant due to the daylight. "Have you seen any sea creatures?"

"Not 'cept those" He pointed his nose at what looked like a shell running across the sand. There were crabs like that at the lake some times so he was used to seeing it. He wouldn't really call them sea creatures though since they didn't live just there.
She might not have seen them though so they could interest her. "Day live at tha lake though too"

She eyed the movement on the sand for a moment as she stretched her neck out. She then shook her head slowly. "No, thats not the sort of sea creature I was speaking of... There are some Soquili like you and I that call the sea their home... Only, they aren't so much like you and I. I've been told that they were granted fins and such by the Great Spirits to help them swim."

"Bet they look funny." He laughed and tossed his head. "Though ta each his own." Fins would make swimming easier even if it would make you look pretty silly. He'd stick with his nice normal self thanks.
"'aven't seen any o those 'round." He hadn't seen anything but the little stuff until she'd shown up.

"I suppose that's to be expected... I doubt they would like to be seen if everyones thoughts mirrored yours. No one wants to be called funny looking." She smiled, giving her head a light toss. Afterall, compaired to some Soquili, she supposed that she could be called 'funny looking'.

"Who says they don' think we're funny lookin too." He grinned and took a few steps down the dune to nose at another patch of plants. "Ah mean if thay's used ta fins and stuff we'd be weird ta not have'em."
He tossed his head and looked back at her. "Sides. Can't see why ya'd want ta see anything else when ya got Sedi ta look at"

"... They might." He had a point. A rather good point, really. If they were no more used to seeing land dwellers than the ones on land were used to seeing ocean creatures they very well might find them funny looking...
Her thoughts were interrupted as he went on and she caught what she took to be his name. "Sedi? Is that who you are? If it is, I suppose I should tell you my name... I should really tell you my name even if it isn't, since we've been standing here talking and all... It's Memory." She smiled, bowing her head politely to him after rambling on.

He bowed dramatically as he'd seen his Dah do a few times. "That i am. Name's longer but ain't no reason in sayin it when everyone calls me Sedi anyway" No one wanted to bother with his full name after tying their tongue up on it once.
"Memory huh? Interstin." He'd never heard anyone with a name like that. He knew what memories were and wondered what kind of parents it would take to want that sort of things for their daughters name.

She laughed at his bow, both amused and flattered by it. She had never had anyone bow to her like that before. Draven's bows were always so subtle and formal... Sedi's seemed fun and... Something else that she couldn't quite put her hoof on.
"I was named after my mother in a way... I suppose that's because I'm the most like her." She'd always been told that memories were a powerful thing; a link to the past. They caused people to be whistful and nostalgic and, sometimes, they brought joy. She wanted to be the sort of memory that brought joy to others. "Were you named after anyone, Sedi?"

He straightened up and shook his mane from his face. "Not named after no one, named after what i do." He didn't think she'd know what his name mean since it wasn't the whole word and Dah only knew it cause they spent a lot of time around two leggers.
