In this thread I will have no making fun of or joke answers. I will not allow anyone here to be laughed at for their beliefs. I don't want to read "I do believe in fairies, I do! I do! *clap*".

That being said does anyone believe in the existence of the Good People? Has anyone seen them?

No, from my studies which have taken place for over two years now *anniversary* and have read dozens of sightings that have taken place in Europe and North America and most of them do not include the little winged Tinker Bell that we are so accustomed to. No, most of them are like gnome or dwarfs; shorter than humans, peasantry cloths, and speak in the country they inhabit or in another mysterious language.

I see no reason not to believe in them, even though I have never actually encountered any of them. Sorry I can't be more helpful. sweatdrop

I use to moderate a site called Monstrous which specialized in a variety of supernatural creatures; Fairies was one of them. Here's the fairy page: http://faerie.monstrous.com/

Well, most of the time it wouldn't be a good thing to see them. I'm guessing you're the kind of person who believes in the loving tiny winged women in flower dresses? They're actually quite sinister and most despise humans and delight in tormenting them. They're best to be avoided...

They're shape shifters and will take any form that appeases them but you mostly see them as shriveled up hags and old men in dirt-poor cloths.

I've seen them and this is what they appear to me as and what they mostly appear to those who live in Ireland and Scotland.

Trust me, normally seeing them ends up as a curse.

I copied and pasted this from another forum I'm on. And I thought I'd share because it is interesting, even if it was just a really vivid dream.

Well, I had this dream the night of the first day of spring. It was cold out, but I smelled that really nice spring breeze, and I have no idea how, my window was closed all the way. I sit up, check my window, it is closed. I lay back down and I smell it again. Ok, this is kinda weird, I'm thinking, so I decided to poke around and I astral projected. I followed the smell and I saw a huge gathering of faeries.

They were walking, or flying, towards the cemetery by my house and I decide to follow them. That was probably really stupid of me =_= I got yelled at by a small faerie, I think she was glowing purple, but a human sized faerie said it was all right for me to come with. I think she was the head faerie, I'm not sure. I never asked for her name, I only called her "Lady." She was beautiful, she has golden hair and these brilliant eyes, I can't really say if they were blue or green or brown.

Anyway, we're walking towards the fence to the cemetery and we walk through it, but we're not in there, we're walking up a hill where there's a large bonfire. There were many people there all ready, all over the hill.

I asked the Lady where are we? What happened to the cemetery? She said that a long time ago there was a faerie mound here and that they let the humans use it as their burial place, but it is stilled used for the faerie festivals.

It was very quiet except for the few people talking. Soon a man came up the opposite side of the hill, from the trees. He carried a few deer with him. He brought them to the fire and a few faeries took the meat and cooked it. Then the other faeries started to go towards the fire to get their share. This was done by their ranking in the society, I'm guessing because the Lady went first with her train and I went with her. After everyone was served music started to play and it was like a party then.

If this was a dream, I'll never forget it, if it wasn't, and I was actually astral projecting, I feel so honored that I could experience something so special, I'll remember it for all of my days. I'm thinking this was a dream because I don't think there'd be a faerie mound in Chicago O_o But for all I know, there was. The weird this is, the cemetery is on a hill, somewhat!

I have seen some and from what I have experienced they are a cruel and terrifying people who are to be avoided. I don't care if they were polite to me, that just means that they are articulate monsters. If anything it just adds to how scary they are.

It depends on what you mean by do they exist. Would you see one flying around and can touch it I dunno. I do know various religions believe in them existing on the same plane that spirits exist on. This plane is known as the astral plane. thoughts and stories are said to affect it, it isn't just a place where spirits dwell. People when they speak of faeries may be speaking of astral plane some people are more sensitive to it then others.

From what I've been reading (I got new books!!! heart heart ) if you do meet one of the Little People it's best to show them respect and be polite but don't believe a word they say and try and get away form them as soon as possible.

It may be because I'm English but I've alway believed that the Fay live on this plane existents with us. Then again not may of our Fairies are of the flying type, they're mostly unpleasant short human like being. The only ones I know that fly are Wild Flower Fairies.

Arg....I do know some things about fairies...I haven't met any fairies though cause one of my guardians is a pixie. For those of you who don't know, fairies and pixie are not the same thing. They also hate each other and hate being mistaken for the other. Because there are SO MANY entities now thrown under the title of fairie, Id like to know what you guys define as a fairie. There are different types, but they are all beautiful, vain, and somewhat self centered. They can be kind and good, but trust me when I say you do NOT want to get on a fairies bad side. All true fairies fly, not all have wings, some hide their wings too. There are LOTS of different entities out there that for some reason get put under the title of fairie when they aren't. Fortunantly they either don't know or don't care and just see it as the ignorance of humans. Which I guess they don't mind. Unless of course you're getting pixies and fairies mixed up, that gets them kinda....Really mad...

I've got to disagrees with you there. Not ALL faries are beautiful (although they are all vain). The Larvae is classed as a fairy as as the Groac'h, the Martes, Peilettes and Trouilles-de-Nouille; all of there are unpleasant to look at. Fairies change from country to country but as still classed as Fairies.

Classed by who? Eh? And what makes you so sure that's their true form? I have to admit that I only know fairies by what they call themselves, so I'm unsure which ones you're referring to. Perhaps you could give me some reference pics? I'd look them up myself but I'm rather busy right now, specially with school starting up again soon.

Fairy is used to class almost all spirits of nature. It's been widely accepted this way by Paranormal Investigators for years, even in Folklore beings will be called Fairies but are not what we would normally picture when we think of fairies. In fact most being that are commonly called Fairy have other names for them.
And how do you know that the form you see is their true one? Those called Fairies are known to be able to use Glamour Magic.

I will gladly get you some pictures, after tomorrow I'm off work for the next week so have some time to kill.
