Things were different now that she had grown. The cream and white mare had seemingly rocketed through her adolescent years! Time had flown by as she investigated the blessed world she'd been brought up in; chasing fireflies in the moonlight, admiring the painted sky of dusk, and capturing sparkling trinkets with her dear friend Feena!
Days had rolled in to weeks, which had transformed in to months. Life had never ceased to amaze and wonder the gentle spirited mare. Everyday was beautiful and a new beginning - no matter the wrongs of the world, no matter the bite of loneliness or the sting of fear, every thing always worked out in the end. No matter how gloomy a day, the sunshine ALWAYS found its way back to brighten the world.
That optimistic attitude was the same she carried today as an adult. Somehow - and exactly how she'd missed the changes, the girl would never know - she'd grown. Her body had gained weight and height, her hair had curled and dropped in to a long flowing mane and tail, and her hooves were long hidden by flowing hooves.
She'd been gifted with a headband by some local children, and had gained a few more golden trinkets with her green maned friend, Feena. But the young lady had lived within a dream - a dream of childhood innocence and purity.
So it came as a shock to the girl as she took a good long look at her reflection. The lake was calm and proved to be a fantastic mirror within the afternoons sunshine. Her long mane drooped in to her eyes, causing Bella to snort and shake it back and away. She really had changed, hadn't she?
Ah well. . . . Perhaps if time had worked its magic on her, than it had on Feena as well? Bella made a mental note to reunite with her winged friend. The last time they'd met seemed like ages ago.
Tearing her gaze from her reflection, Bella dropped her nose in to the lake and drank. One look was good enough for her! Besides which, it wasn't polite to stare. . ..
