FINALLY, Tsuki was able to go off on her own and away from her family! She didn't hate them or anything, but she was just sick of being around them all the time!

Her father was still teaching them many many things, so she was always busy everyday, learning about new techniques for fighting and self defense. Her mother would also help describe so much of what was out there in the world, that it gave Tsuki a headache after awhile!

How was she supposed to believe them if she didn't go off on her own and find out for herself? That was her main argument, afterall!

When her father gave the word that they were free to wander off on their own for awhile, Tsuki snuck away from where her brother and sister were playing, and decided to lurk around in the forest. It really was spooky when everything was so quiet, and she giggled at how exciting it was.

She stopped herself suddenly when she saw a small stream, and she ran towards it excitedly, hoping to find some fish in the water.

Kairo had hung around for a little while. Just a little.

Then she'd decided that whatever mother and father were talking to their sibling about was just too unimportant to stick around and find out, so she'd sprinted off into the sun to find something that would suit her needs. Unfortunately, there was little to nothing.

Her ears perked forwards as she spotted a very bright filly not to far away, and a smile quirked at the corners of her mouth. Well, well, well. This could end up being interesting. The smile turned into a chuckle, and she charged forwards once more, greeting the other with a swift trot.

A kick would have been fun, but she hung off on this for just a moment. Just to see who exactly this was. Then something wonderful happened.

She spotted the stream, which the young filly just happened to be standing in front of. Oh this was just too perfect! She half expected some honary brother to come out and tackle her, but there was nothing.

Tossing her hair lightly out of her face she bit her tongue and charged, aiming with the full intention of landing the other in her daily bath.

CRAP! Father had taught Tsuki how to maneuver out of this situation, but she was too slow! That only proved to her that his training was much more important than she had imagined! Before she could make a nose, the orange filly fell completely into the water, and with a loud thump!

It was terrible, the stream was a shallow one, so she felt the rocks hit her side as struggled in the water. Who the heck had done that to her? Luckily she was alright, since she had trained in much worse conditions. She was incredibly angry though, and she figured it must have been her tricky brother or something.

But, after slowly moving her body up and out of the water, she noticed another filly standing and watching her. To make it worse, it was a filly she had never seen before?!

"Oh you think you are REAL funny, dontcha?" she glared, and lowered her ears. She was starting to breathe heavily now, as she always did when she was mad. Her left side was started to tingle with pain, but she brushed off the scratches, knowing her father would yell at her later about them. "Why did you do that? Answer me!" Was it supposed to be funny? Tsuki would have to fight her now!

For a little while, yes, Kairo was simply watching, her little mouth quirked sideways in and o shape, eyes slightly wide. It was rather odd to watch another of her kind struggle.

Then her lousy dramatics failed and she fell over laughing as the filly got upon her feet, water dripping down her legs. That had to be uncomfortable! Oh what glee! Such moving scenes. She'd have to cry about it later. NOT.

After she'd managed to recover she rolled back onto her feet gracefully, her tail flicked high in grace, chest puffed out as best he could manage, returning the glare, but failing only because she had to snicker again.

Orange and purple was just not a convincingly evil color.

"Hah!" Kairo answered, prancing around a circle just out of kicking range. "It was perfectly delightful. Schadenfreude." She grinned applicably at her own wit and gave a highflying kick into the air.

She eyed the others coat and made a funny face. "Ew, you look worse than before." She turned her head away in disgust and then poked an eye open, daring to look again.

Really, she could care less about looks, but who knew?

Feeling every hair on her body tense up, Tsuki gritted her teeth and took an attacking stance. "Well enjoy that feeling while it lasts, you poop colored filly!" A mature move, obviously. And with a sadistic grin, she dug her hoof into the ground a few times, before capturing every detail there was to know about the female in front of her. She looked about the same size as herself, so that probably meant that their speeds and staminas were the same. Ah yes, so this would be easier then she thought..

"That was a bad decision on your part! I don't play around, and I also don't joke around when I am speaking!" And with that, she plunged forward, only to ram her body into the other fillys. Obviously she wasn't trying to kill her or hurt her too badly, but she had to show her that she meant business! Tsuki really was an idiot, though. Now she had hurt the right side, which tingled in pain and caught up with her already scratched left side!

It was worth it, waaay worth it. No one was going to push her around like that, and if violence needed to be brought out, then so be it! That was how she had learned and shrived, so she needed to keep herself on top of her game! She only stood, watching the other filly now, and waiting for whatever rude remarks would come out of her snout.

Kairo frowned and looked down at her coat. It wasn't poop colored! It was dirt red. Like blood stained bison leather. However, as she raised her head for a retort, something slammed into her side, and the wind completely left her side.

She struggled away gasping and cringing, and was about to pull a retort, when the other one backed off and watched.

So she wasn't going to go through with it, then?

"Oh, have I been misleading?" Kairo said, the grin returning. She wouldn't give up until she'd won this battle. She came a little closer and put her lips to the others ears. "But that's not how I play, love." She squealed and let out a kick, dashing away as fast as she could carry herself, not wanting another side injury.

Which hurt like hell, by the way!

AHA! A challenge!

It was like a new fire had erupted from Tsuki's expression, and she only cackled in delight at the other's words. She flinched at her attack, but watched her skidder away quickly. "Where are you going?" And with that, Tsuki also started to move her body into a fast paced run, only to lag behind the filly now.

THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN!
Her brother and sister would NEVER play like this!

... Maybe that meant this filly wasn't as bad as she first thought, then?

Tsuki started to slow her movements, only to feel the aching of her body kick in. She kept forgetting that her body like, had feelings... "Eh there.." she said, quietly to the other who was still moving in front of her. "Why are we fighting, again?"

Her father had taught her that a fight was necessary when the one doing battle KNEW what they were fighting for. At the moment, Tsuki started to feel her anger drop, and wondered why the heck she was actually fighting. If anything, she should be praising the female for her awesome behavior!

Stopping her body, she lowered her ears in an embarrassment, and wondered if the female would stop running and come talk to her. Tsuki figured that the female would just run back and call her weak, but she was prepared to take that for the sake of meeting this creature. A sacrifice was a sacrifice, afterall!

For a minute Kairo thought that they'd encountered escape. Her and her ego, that was.

Then the other one started to catch up, and this just wasn't going as planned at all! The other 'thing' stopped and called out to her. Kairo slowed to a stop and rolled her eyes where the other couldn't see her.

"I pushed you in the river?" Was it short term memory loss. Had she smacked the others brain?

Sighing heavily she trounced back over, making it very clear it was a huge effort to do so. "Have you fried your brain? Because if you have, I'm not taking the blame."

"Well I know.." Tsuki shuffled her feet and looked at the filly childishly. "..but it was funny, and I blew up for no reason, because that's what I do sometimes. If I had pushed you in the stream, I would have been laughing just as much. You are a good competitor, so I don't really see a reason to fight with you anymore."

It really was embarrassing, but Tsuki was always sure to speak out about how she felt!

"If anything, I should be praising you!" Tsuki giggled at the female, and crept a few steps closer. "You really are awesome, what's your name? I can't stand others who let people walk all over them, but you don't seem like that at all."

With a light sound of glee, she continued to eye the female, before sputtering out her own name. "Oh, my name is Tsuki by the way."

Kairo stood, mouth agape, her ears swivelling in disbelief. Whatywhatwhat? She was getting an apology! Wait! On top of it, a praise!

Now this was something that Kairo could live with. Whatever Tsuki said after that, didn't really mean much, because Kairo had achieved superiority. That was the only goal in life, right? Not that she wasn't already better than everyone else, but she needed to convince them of that fact.

A great task harder than previously presumed.

"Kairo," she answered, a grin streaking her maw. And to hell if she was going to let anyone walk all over her. When she was dead, maybe. But she'd haunt their dreams every night after it, just so they never did it again. She absently wondered how many dead things she was walking on right now. . .

After checking her foot, her head jerked up at the sound of glee. "Tsuki, Tsuki." It was exciting to say. "I like it!" She reciprocated the funny sound of glee, though whether it was mocking or not was hard to determine.

"Let's go pick on some boys," she said, her head lowered and eyes glittering with mischeviousness.

Kairo.. she would have to remember that! This filly had her own head on her shoulders, and it made Tsuki smile back in delight.

She was surprised that she didn't say anything goofy or mean about her name, and she wondered if most of the rude remarks were over at this point. How strange, for them to shift sides completely like that. But, Tsuki found it important to acknowledge Kairo for what she liked about her, because she could actually see her as friend material for future mischief! So far everyone she had met had been so dull, Kairo was like, the first real excitement in her life! Her brother and sister couldn't match that at all!

Everything seemed to fall into perfect place at Kairo's last comment, and Tsuki only ran up to her now in delight. "I think you and I will get along much better than I thought!" She turned her head to look around the gloomy forest around them, and then sighed. "Where are we gonna find some boys?" she then said, feeling helpless.

If you wanted exciting, Kairo was definately the foal for you. She'd been in hundreds of adventures already, without the help of her parents, who seemed only to mind when it concerned them in some way. This was just another simple walk in the park to her, turned odd.

Instinct told her, hate the filly, but her head said, nah, she could be useful. So she stuck with her head, which tended to lead her far better than instinct which said, 'Jump off a Cliff'. No, she didn't like instinct at all.

"Uh, yeah!" she agreed, with a slight bit of uncertainty. This whole 'friends' business was weird. What did she have to do? If it meant sticking around for gooey sleep overs, count her out. She had better things to do. So long as this one didn't trudge around with her head and foot, it was all good to Kairo. Maybe she could send the other on errands?

Kairo frowned. Oh dear.

"Mudholes," she answered simply. Boys and mud went together like girls and . . . hah, streams. It was true. Boys had quests to get dirty and girls quite the opposite. Kairo just liked dirt. She stayed away from wet.

"Mudholes?" Tsuki took a step back and laughed lightly. "Then my brother must be a girly-boy, he hates mud!" And come on, not all boys were like that! "And if I like mud, does that make me a.. boyish girl?" she raised a brow but kept a silly expression, only awaiting what Kairo might respond to that.

But it was true, everyone had their own things that they liked and disliked. It couldn't always be a this/that scenario! Tsuki was sort of surprised, to see Kairo explaining boys on such a simple level. If anything, Tsuki found her own likes and dislikes as complicated when it came to gender relations. "I ran into one boy, and he was obnoxious. You wouldn't have liked him either." Ugh, if only he was there so she could kick him or something. "I don't know where he is, though."

"Do you have any brothers? I only have one, and then one sister." she said, while still imagining her brother covered in mud. Maybe she would have to do that sometime, and get her brother back for all of the tricks and games he did to her!
PostPosted: Mon Aug 06, 2007 10:55 am

There was a simple explanation for this. Mud was her color. Everyone wanted to look like her.

"No," she said with a frown. "It makes you red, like me." She grinned at her own joke and turned in a circle to keep her legs moving. Regardless of scenarios or not, it was the typical way of things, and though there may be a few select individuals that didn't tie into the stereotype, many more would prove her right. That was all that mattered.

"Next time you see him, put a rock on his head," she said simply. It would piss the boy off, anyway, and hell, most people didn't know what to do with rocks. If he had half a brain (which most horses did anyway) he'd try to balance in and problem would be solved. Or she could just push him off a cliff. . .

She snapped out of her thoughts at the next question. "No, I have one, low-life, boring sister." It wasn't an honest answer, she'd never wanted to find out how exciting her sister was. She'd stayed as far away from the individual as possible.

Nevermind that when she was younger she would watch over the other one all night. She'd forgotten all about those days.

Frustrated at going no where, Kairo took the lead and started walking. Mudholes. . .

Tsuki only shook her head and grinned, before giggling at Kairo's next statement.

"Well, he has this thing sticking out of his head.. and I already made fun of him for it, because he looks weird!" and although a rock might work, the filly would much rather kick the idiot and watch him fall or something. A rock just wasn't violent enough.

He also had wings, but Tsuki thought they were ugly! Its not like he knew how to fly yet, so that deemed him pathetic.

"Why is she boring?" Tsuki then asked, and was brought back out of her daze on the colt. Maybe Kairo just hated her sister? "I mean, my siblings can be kinda boring, but I still have fun with them.."

Before she could finish her answer, she noticed that they were moving! She perked up and moved her legs quickly to catch up with the other filly. Now where were they going?!
