Devon glanced over his shoulder as he climbed the stairs, checking to make sure the two kids were with him. How he ended up with a second kid for the afternoon, he wasn't sure but it was Riley and she was a good kid so he didn't think they'd have problems. With a practiced movement, he tugged his keys from his pocket and unlocked the apartment door. "It's all set up, Iggy," he began. "Should work just fine." Then, having a feeling that he was in the way of the impending stampede, he neatly stepped inside and then to the right.
He was very right. Ignacio came pelting up the final few steps, Riley in tow, and headed straight for the rough and tumble little living room. He motioned to the hideously green but exceedingly comfy couch. "Have a seat," he suggested. "I'll get the controllers and everything."
Watching his kid get busy untangling wires, Devon sighed. "You two want snacks?"

Riley had darted after Iggy without a second thought, excited to be at her friend's home and to be out of her prison for a night. She threw herself on the couch, bounding a little as the cushions pushed against her and quickly rolled over, straightening herself up. She tried to shift her arms so that she could hold a controler, for she did have a little bit of movement in her right hand, despite the arm being busted. Hopefully it'd be good enough.
She grinned widely at Devon, silver eyes bright, "Oohhh, yes!" Damn, offer Riley food and she was up for anything. Seriously.

Devon couldn't quite smother the laugh her answer produced and, chuckling, disappeared into the tiny efficiency kitchen. Meanwhile, Ignacio had won the battle with the controllers and scrambled over to deposit on in Riley's hands. "We'll do one of the easier games," he announced. "Just 'cause you can't move that hand as well. Um..." He frowned and returned to a little shoebox full of game cases. "I guess a fighting game's no good."

"Nah, do it anyway!" Riley insisted with a cocky smile. She was game, man! She was never one to back down from a challenge. So what if her fingers didn't move quite as fast? She was still up for it. "It'll be fun," she assured him, settling the controlers in her fingers and testing the movement of her right hand a little. Mm...it'd probably be ok. Though she honestly didn't have much experience with video games.

Ignacio looked over his shoulder at her awkward hold and grinned. "Fine, if you wanna be a tough guy. Hold on a minute. Lemme find it." After a moment, he sighed and set the box down, moving to begin feeling around behind the video game console itself.

"Scared you'll loose to my broken arm?" she teased good naturely, already full to the brim with competitive spirit. Seeing him discard the box she leaned forward, craning her neck to see what he was doing. "Can't find it?" She asked, looking a bit disappointed. Ah well, there were other games to play. And she probably would have sucked at that one anyway.

Ignacio's tail waved at her in a strangely insolent manner as he dug further behind the console. Finally, he announced, "Here!" Emerging again, he brushed vaguely at the dust bunnies in his hair as he scrambled to insert the disk into the machine. Then he crawled over to flop on the floor in front of Riley's perch on the couch. "It's called Dead or Alive 2. It's good."

Riley leaned forward to tug it smartly only to find him out of reach. Darn. She sat back with a brief pout, wiggling her toes restlessly until he finally reappeared, his search successful. "Well the name is cool enough," she commented, wondering if it had anything to do with what they'd be doing in the game. It seemed simple enough, right...? You were either alive or you were...dead. Not knowing what to do she waited for him to move through the screens to get them started.

Hitting the character screen, Ignacio nodded at the television before craning his head back to look at his friend. "We each have to pick a character to play," he explained.

(( I haven't placed DoA soo, you'll have to excuse me a bit xD ))
"Mm...ok," Riley nodded, moving the right analog stick to sort through the different characters. Finally she settled on some random figher chick who fought bare-handed. Pressing the x buttom she confirmed her choice, "Alright, ready to go." Though she didn't know the controls. This was bound to be interesting.

((Oh, I'm totally abusing Google here. I haven't played DOA in ages and can't remember.))
"That's Tina," Ignacio explained. "She's cool. She's a wrestler." He took a bit more time on choosing his own character. While he moved through them neatly, his own fingers were a bit unsure at times and it was obviously going to be an interesting match. Finally, he settled on a large, muscled man wearing desert fatigues. "Ready?"

A wrestler hu? That was pretty cool. Random thoughts of being a wrestler floated through her head but were quickly dismissed at Ignacio's question. "Hu?" she said, blinking and coming back to earth, "Oh yeah! Ready!" She grinned, shifting the controler slightly in her hands much like how she might shuffle her feet before a race.

With a touch of a button, the fight music started. The next five minutes devolved into mad button-mashing as both children tried their best to kill the other. Finally, after much awkwardness and missed blows, Ignacio's character pushed Riley's into a corner and then crowed triumph. He blinked, then grinned. "Beatcha."

"Ahhh, man!" She complianed vibrantly. It was really no surprise, though. She had never been good at video games or anything. But it didn't seem to dim her fire. "Let's go again!" she persisted, looking very determined. But she appeared to be having fun, for loosing in all her glory and stuff.

"Sure!" Quickly, Iggy reset the game. Before he could start the combat again, however, Devon appeared with a bag of chips and two cold sodas. The controller was immediately dismissed and Ignacio scrambled up to sit on the couch beside Riley. Then he held out his hands to receive the goods. "Thanks, Dad!"
Handing the bag and one of the sodas to his son, Devon paused to crack open the second can before offering it to Riley. "Coke's fine, right?"
