A butterfly flew past the little one's face and onto his own back. Just like the mare not a few weeks before, he now had a smaller creature ride on him! "Hey! You're on my spot, silly thing!" The Usdia giggled, and shook himself so the butterfly wouldn't get hurt. That would be the last thing he wanted. Something so beautiful and delicate getting hurt because of him!
Ah! Not good.
The Usdia trotted down the field of tall grass, still inches too high for him to actually see over. But did that bother him like before? No, not as much. For he knew now that he'd grow taller than the grass, according to that pony-mare. If she was that big, he'd be too. Not a normal soquili, big and strong but still able to see over the grass. That's all he wanted. To be able to see what he cannot now.
The butterfly flew by the small Usdia again, and this time didn't land on him. Rather it fluttered close and then moved away, fluttered close again, and then moved away. It was teasing him! He giggled, and chased after the small bug, beady black eyes crossed between his black nose so he could get a better view when the butterfly got closer.
It seemed as though this was pretty much the only way Spot, the certain young Usdia in question, could ever have fun. Muma and Surgir played with him more than their fair share of games and so did the occassional adult soquili. But none of his own kind, nonetheless someone his own age! It was about time he had the pleasure of meeting someone small like him. That purple pony told him he wasn't the only one. There had to be more out there! He just had to find them first.

Wishes made her way out into the field, a great big yawn casting itself from between her lips. Today was such a horribly boring day, and she was ready for a new adventure. Momma was out doing Momma things, no doubt, which left Wishes to her own doings. Then again, her adopted Mother had reminded her to not wander far from where they usually roamed, but Wishes knew she'd find her way back before Momma came back. Maybe she could even find one of those Papa creatures she and Momma had spoken about! Oooo, how Momma would be so surprised and delighted at that!
Little blue hooves trotted and made their way across the field, happy and ready to go out in search of a Papa for Momma. She didn't know what they looked like, but she was sure she'd manage to figure it out. She had come this far and found herself a Momma, hadn't she?

A Papa figure was always a good thing in a little ones life.
Of cource, Spot was perfectly happy not having one. Muma was just as good by herself as she was with her companion mountain lion-Surgir. He didn't quite need a Papa nor did he have any idea where to find one. The only male he had met so far was Azu and that guy didn't strike him as the type to adopt (even though Spot was the cutest thing alive). So the whole Papa issue never really phased the little Usdia.
Continueing his happy little trot down in the field, leaving the butterfly behind it took a few moments for him to realize someone else was there. A pitter-patter of the tiniest hooves could be heard in front of him and it made Spot excited. The only time he'd ever hear something so quiet was himself. So maybe someone else out there was his size.
With that fact in mind, the little guy took off at a quicker pace to catch up to whatever had made that noise and to his surprise he was right! Walking along the path was another one. Another baby Usdia, only she was slightly smaller. She? Ah, yes! Another female just what he needed...
"Well, hello." Spot said, speeding up so he was only a few inches behind her.

Had she not heard the movement behind her, Wishes would had been more startled than she was when the tiny voice spoke directly behind her. Surprised, the tiny foal nearly tripped over her even smaller hooves as jerked around to see who the voice belonged to.
"Hiya!" She said brightly in response, after catching her poise from being startled. What in the world was this creature?! Why... it was just about as big as her! Maybe a bit bigger, give or take a couple inches, but finding a creature that stood just about the same height as herself made her grin wider than ever.
"You're... you're as small as me!" She nearly squealed, trotting around him to get a better look. He was fascinating, with his bright pink splothes all across his back and face. She especially liked his bright green hair... it reminded her of the small tuft of green hair she had on herself!
"Who are you?" she finally asked, after giving him a thorough examination. "I'm Wishes!"

Opps. He hadn't meant to startle the poor dear.
When she fell, he instantly ran over to her to see if she was okay. That was the last thing he needed, someone's pain on his conscience. But she seemed okay by the way she responded. In fact, her bright and cheery voice almost startled Spot like he had her, but rather he just giggled.
"Ah..." The Usdia began, looking her up and down like it appeared she was with him. There they were, two young Usdia's who had no idea of eachother's existance or what they were. Their size being only inches difference but that was because he was slightly older and he was a male. "Yes, I am. Do you know what we are? That lady I met didn't know what we were, but do you? You're as small as me, I'm not the only one!" He gave his words more enthusiasm then she did when she squealed. This girl's spunky personality made her stick out even more in Spot's mind after meeting all those not-so exciting soquili!
Beady black eyes noticed that a small tuff of her hair was the same color as his own and that only made her appearance better! Oh this was so wonderful! "Wishes? Wishes, I'm Spot. It's nice to meet you!"

[Congrats on him growing up, btw! <3]
"Nice ta meetcha, Spot!" She replied back happily, giving his neck a friendly nudge with her muzzle. She was excited to finally meet someone just as tiny as her... and he seemed like so much fun to be around too! His colors made her happy, but then again, most bright colors did. What would Mother say when she told her she had found another baby like her?
"What... we are?" she echoed, giving him a puzzled expression. "We're horses.... aren't we? At least, that's what Momma said we were, and I trust what Momma says!"
Still grinning, she trotted around happily, unable to stand still. This was so thrilling! And to think, she had thought she was the only one like this, the only tiny foal running around. Oh, what a happy day it was!
"I wonder if there are others out there as small as we are?" she questioned aloud, thinking to herself.

((Thanks!^^ I love the mane.))
The friendly nudge to his neck was something very unexpected. Of course he was the one that usually did that to others so it wasn't awkward, but to have someone do it to him first was strange. At least he knew that there was 'nice' out in the world just as much as there was 'mean'. But this female seemed like a fun time to be with, she was friendly and nice...pretty much exactly what he was. A perfect friendship would ultimately come from this.
Right?
Oh, he sure hoped so.
"I'm not sure. Miss Lickity-Split said that we are ponies. Whatever that is. My Muma's a horse, a soquili. That's what she calls herself. But we're not...soquili." Spot tried to reassure the silly female, who seemed just as determined as him to figure out just exactly what they were. Beady eyes watched as Wishes trotted around and it continued to make him giggle. Such an interesting character he could do nothing but join her in her merry-making! So, shaking his pudgey legs, he started to dance around the spot that they were standing in.
"I don't know. I wondered that too until I met you. But we'll grow bigger than this so we won't be so small forever."

"Lickity-Split?" she asked, trying to keep a straight face. "That's such a funny name!"
She giggled and let out a little snort. Of course, Wishes was probably silly to some other horse, so she really shouldn't be making any comment about names. But she couldn't help it... it just sounded so funny rolling off her tongue!
Her face turned serious, though, once he continued explaining things to her. Her bouncing had stopped for a moment so she could question him again. "Ponies? So... we're not really horses? But... but how can your Momma be a horse but you're not? Is your Momma like mine, and not reeeally your Momma? I found mine one day!" she boasted, feeling proud of herself, "And I'm gonna find a Papa for her one of these days too!"
She twirled, feeling happy once more at her future plans. "I can't wait to grow up myself. Momma said I was gonna be pretty, just like her. Are you going to be pretty too, Spot?"

It wasn't that funny, was it? He hadn't really stopped to think about the other Usdia's name until now, and it made him laugh. "It's not a bad name though, Wishes. It's funny because it's different!" The child tried to cover for himself, for he felt bad saying someone else's name was silly while his was Spot.
Beady eyes watched as she stopped bouncing and he silently wished she'd continue because the steady look didn't work for her very well. "My Muma's not really my Muma like you say! But she found me when I was in a...basket. She's bigger than like...10 of use put together! She's a horse, she uh...adopted me!" Spot was very glad to hear that he wasn't the only baby to be adopted by someone. By the sound of it, Wishes never knew her real parents either. "You're gunna find a Papa? That's cool! Muma don't want me to have a Papa, but I'll help you look." He giggled slightly, wondering how you just found one.
When she finally twirled, Spot did the same out of happiness of watched her do so. "Uh, Muma says that I'm gunna be handsome! So I'm not pretty, that's a girls word. I'm handsome!"

"I didn't say it was bad, silly," she corrected, stifiling yet another giggle. "But there are lots of words that are silly, that's just one of them!"
She continued smiling as the colt explained about his parenting situation, and she gawked at his description.
"10 of us?!?" she nearly screeched. "That's huuuuuge!"
For emphasis, she glanced above Spot and tried to imagine what 10 Spots, one on top of each other, would measure out to look like. Hopping up on her rear legs, her neck craned upwards and before she knew it, she felt herself teetering backwards. Before she could stop herself, she managed to topple onto her back, but merely giggled at the fall, feeling no injury to worry about.
"10's a whole lot, Spot... how did she manage to find you? And why were you in a basket?"
A curious head glanced over at him and studied the sideways colt with interest. "And what's a basket anyhow?"
She laughed at his Papa comment... he sounded alot like Momma did. She was too worried over Wishes to worry about her own needs, but Wishes would fix that up, yes sirreee!
"Handsome? What's wrong with being pretty!?" She stuck her tongue out at him, still rolling around happily on the ground, having too much fun to worry about getting back up onto her hooves.

Eh, she had him there. Technically no, she didn't ever say the word 'bad', but still making fun of someone elses name or calling it 'silly' was just like saying it was a bad name, in Spot's book.
Ack! When the little filly screeched out her words, he feel back in complete surprise, quickly regaining himself so he could watch her reaction. 10 of him wasn't really that...bad was it? Or was that a little too tall? Well, for one thing, Azumoth was definitely more than 10 of him, but maybe Muma wasn't...
Beady eyes watched as Wishes stood up and apparently tried to imagine how tall 10 Spot's would be stacked up on eachother. "Be careful-!" He stammered, before watching her fall to her doom. Luckily, though she had laughed it off. The child felt a huge sigh of relief escape him when learning she was alright. "I dunno how she found me, but Muma said that she just randomly came across my basket, which is, she said, something that mommies and daddies put their babies in so they can grow healthy." Honestly, Spot really had no idea why he was in a basket either if Charlamagne wasn't his real mom. Did that mean that someone else had actually put him in there, and then left him?
If so, how rude. He was their child and they just...left him!?! "My basket looked like a colorful rock, only it opened and it wasn't as hard..."
The child watched his new found friend roll around on the ground, before quickly joining her. He had let the tongue-sticking-out go, because it was just a mere way of teasing and he wasn't too fond of being teased. On his back, Spot finally responded,
"Nothing is wrong with being pretty, it's just not a boy word. But if you want me too be pretty then I will be."

"Ohhh... so there's boy words and girl words, huh?" she asked, giggling. It seemed pointless, making words only for boys and words only for girls. "So you mean I can't be handsome and pretty at the same time?"
She laughed and rolled around, bumping in to him first on accident, and then deliberately the second time. "Well, I never had one of them basket things to lay in." she told him matter-of-factly. "I just... remember being here! My Momma found me one day when I was roamin' around in the bushes, and we've been together ever since!"
She paused, biting her lower lip. "Well... ever since 'cept now. Because I'm with you!"
