The cheetah walked, fed and groomed, along the grasses. After these two accomplishments were made, there wasn't much more to do during the day, other than walk, and hope something interesting might happen.
In a desire for something a little out of the ordinary, he'd wandered close-ish to the graveyard, close enough to smell the hyena territory markers, but rather faint and weak from where he was. At any sound, however, he was ready to run, not at all interested in getting a wound from one of those ugly brutes.
Because see, when you depended on running, injuries weren't all that good for you.

Dunia was still lingering around the outskirts of the graveyard where the Maziko pride lived. She quite liked Amleth, but still hadn't had the chance to talk to the king and see if she could join. So instead she took to wandering around, her old ways hard to settle, even though she should have learned better from in. A large gash was still healing on her thigh, an attack from a hyena a moon or so ago. It was beginning to scar over, and Dunia knew that she was never going to be the same slick creature she once was. Pity.
Good thing that the mind never died.
She perked her head up, seeing that another was indeed wandering as well. A little close to the hyena territory as well. Were they a fool, or did they know where they were going?

Sometimes you just pick one of the best moments to turn around, don't you? He looked back, just because he felt like it, and because he was afraid of being snuck up on, and saw movement. At first, he felt his heart skip a beat, but then realised it was a lioness.
Well, he could have some fun now, could he? Sure, it was a lioness, but.. Well, it was still fun. So the cheetah trotted over, stopping nearby. "Why hello pretty lady! Whats someone like you doing in a place like this? " He said, this was an old line, but it wasn't exactly very straight-forward.

Ohoho! Did Dunia still have it in her? She was pleased, since she had used her looks to get everywhere. That was, until she was ratted out. Ugh, females could be such vile creatures! But hey, that was in the past, and she had a cheetah to look at. Quite nice on the eyes, as well.
Her pale blue eyes studied his form as she made her way towards him. Not baaad, not bad at all. "Well! You flatter me so, I don't know what to think!" Oh, she lied through her teeth, but she always had, and always would. "I'm just admiring the special beauty of the graveyard, that is all. And what pleasure is it that I run into you?"

"How can I not? You are quite a sight. " He said content that she hadn't tried to shake him off, like many females did. They could use more like these in africa.
"I was just looking for anything out of the ordinary. " He bowed his head slightly, folding his ears politely. "And I certainly found something. " He smiled, whiskers flickering in amusement. "And what, may I ask, is your name? "

Ohhh. Dunia could come to like this boy very, very much. He had that silver tongue, the one that she herself had learned so long ago. The game was set up, the players picked, and now it was her turn. She could hardly hold in the excitement.
With a flick of her ear, and a raised eyebrow, she offered her name. "It's simply Dunia. As I've said, quite a pleasure. I'm sure it wouldn't be too much to ask for your name?" She gave him a small nod, giving him the space and time he wanted to share his name, but the excitement in her eyes was a bit harder to hide.

"A wonderfull name, suiting someeone like yourself. " He smiled. He could have quite some fun with this lioness. What was more fun You may ask that, and anything you wish. I go by Makani. "
He swished his tail. He hadn't expected such a run-down place to have such fine company. And the best thing was, he didn't have to deal with someone naive, or moody.

Indeed, her name suited her well, since it meant earth, and the tone of her coat certainly matched that. She wished that she had a much better, more exotic sounding name, but she never had the heart to throw away the name her mother gave her, even though she never agreed with her mother.
"Makani....such a fine, noble name. I am glad that I came across you, you seem like such a strong soul. May I also ask where you are from?" She was curious, wondering if he had anything to back up his sly way of speaking, but if he didn't, no bother. Dunia didn't have anything to support her up except her ex-gypsy-like ways.

"That'd be the same as asking the wind where it first blew, and I'm quite sure it'd say the same as I. Everywhere. " He said, telling where he'd really come from would be boring, but he could use his name meaning for this.
"How about you, Dunia? Someone like you should come from a very interesting place. "

"Aaaah, very creative, I must admit. Then I shall assume you have seen many wonders across the lands. You should tell me of the things you've seen sometime soon, it would be a pleasure to hear them." She smiled playfully at him, and as she was curious, hoped that he would take her up on that sometime.
Dunia stalled in answering her question though, for she knew not exactly where she came from. She was from northern lands, though, so she would try to play it up a bit. "I hail from the northern lands, full of all kinds of sights cubs image. Two legged beasts roaming the lands, full of gold, plentiful foods, and wonderful sights. The quiet lives on those here in the South pleases me more, though. There are many that you can't trust up there, especially the two-legged beasts."

"You really know how to get someone interested. " He raised his brows in amusement at all the fine stuff she described, but it wasn't that much his type of thing. Though, here was nicer.
"The two-legged ones.. " He muttered under his breath. "Annoying beasts, aren't they? " He shrugged. Makani wasn't fond of them at all; once theid drove around with their silly giant pets and scared away almost all his prey.

"Aaah, so you have come across them!" Dunia would amdit that she was shocked to find another that had seen them. She knew that they lived around these parts, but had barely met anyone else that had seen them, or perhaps even interacted with them. "There are many where I come from, it is hard to avoid them. I live many days walk north, perhaps nearly a full moon's time, and they flood the area like hyenas to a carcass."
She swished her tail before continuing. "Though some seem quaint, others are...a little too interesting for my tastes, I must admit." Her eye gleamed for a moment as she looked at Makani in a tad bit different light. "It is a pleasure to have one more thing in commong with you, Makani."

"Yes. They run around mounted on their strange beasts sometimes. " He rolled his eyes. Why didn't they just walk for themselves? "Sometimes make really, really loud noises.. And generally someone hits the ground. " He shrugged. He was a cheetah, rather ignorant, and had never stopped to verify what happened when someone 'hit the ground'. He'd always got as far as possible.
"Besides rugged good looks? " He teased for a moment. "Though, I must say, we aren't common in that matter. You look better. " Well, actually, Makani did love his own appearance. But talking about yourself like that wasn't generally attractive. "But yes, it is nice. One similarity between lion and cheetah, for now. "

Dunia smiled warmly, loving the pleasing comments that the cheetah offered to her freely. She felt at home with this game, and wished with all her heart that she could go back to it. But alas, things changed, and she knew she could never return, not with the huge scar that graced her hind leg.
"Rugged looks are pleasing," she commented, "for it shows that you've been through some rough time in life, but still come out on top. I like that."
The lioness stretched, letting her limbs reach out as far as the pleased, feeling very relaxed and much better about herself. It was just what she needed, and she kept it in her mind to thank the cheetah when their time together passed.

"They are. " Makani nodded curling his tail contently, and sat down, for a moment allowing himself to notice the scar on his company's leg. "I can see you've come out on top as well. " He tipped his head slightly to indicate what he meant, but decided not to say more. Perhaps this wasn't a very good memory.
"So, Dunia, besides running around an looking pretty, what had you planned on doing today? " Nah, he didn't really feel like spending the day with her, as neat a company as this lioness was. But he needed some small talk, now that the subject had kind of ran out.
