Penelope wasn't usually the type to enjoy shopping that much. Whenever she was dragged to go shopping by Mama or her sister, Lauren, she resented the idea. It was the staying in stores for hours, trying on the latest fashionable clothes or browsing through anything else. She likes shopping for movies and books, that was it. Anything else was boring, pointless and she would much rather look up that kind of stuff online, buy it, and have it shipped too her. Why go out and buy clothes when you can buy it in the comfort of your home? It was less dangerous, less time costing, and overall a lot more fun. And she liked to think shopping for clothes made you loose brain cells, anyways.

Penelope did, however, love to go shopping at Diagon Alley.

Who wouldn't? With the great stacks of books with spells of every kind in book shops, the gross yet interesting potion ingredients, the gleaming new brooms in Quality Quidditch Supplies, fresh crisp robes at Madam Malkins, and the pets in the pet shops of every kind (and once in her 4th year she enviously saw a Augrey for sale-and wanted the poor, sad looking bird desprately).

It was a couple weeks before school started, and Penelope just got dropped off in front of the Leaky Cauldron by Mama. Giving Mama a kiss on the cheek, a wave, and then a quick look to make sure she had her money in her book bag, she jumped out of the car and watched Mama drive away until she was out of sight.

"Leaky Cauldron," Penelope grinned to herself pushing the door open into the pub. It was rather empty, which didn't really suprise her. It was a nice, sunny day, not too groggy or humid, just nice. Waving too the barman, Penelope cross the pub, pulled open the door and stepped out into a small, cramped courtyard.

Taking out her wand, she touched it for a few moments, glancing at it. She loved the wand, it was an amazing sensation to feel the magic rushing through your fingers when you did a spell. Looking up at the brick wall, she did three up, two across and then tapped her wand on the brick. As the brick wall melted away, Diagon Alley appeared right in front of her eyes.

"It's good to be back," Penelope whispered, walking down the cobblestoned center street, gazing up at the signs for the store. She was pondering where she should go first after she exchanged her money. Probably getting her books last would be the best idea due to the fact they would be the heaviest, and she wouldn't want to carry them that long...she needed new robes, too, hers were threadbare...

It was fairly easy exchanging her money at Gringotts and when she was done with that, she stepped out into the fresh air and looked around. "Where to go, where to go, I know where I need to go, but I don't know where to go first..."

(( No one feel intimidated by this post. xD I tend to write long posts for my first post.))

((You mind if I join? Well...it is a RP forum but I've never been in one before, so I'm not entirely sure about etiquette and such))

Anne rubbed her chin, glancing about with a slightly distracted air. This was her first time alone in Diagon Alley. Being Muggle-born she'd been taken here by a Hogwarts teacher the first time and her parents had brought her ever since. While her parents accepted her magical talent they'd always been a little uncomfortable with Diagon Alley, making lighting shopping trips executed with military precision. While she revelled in the freedom of being able to spend as long as she liked it was a little...overwhelming.

Realising she was doing what her Father had told her not to (that is, staring and gawping like a tourist ripe for the picking) she quickly and decisively set off at a quick stroll in a direction chosen completely at random. Unfortunately, it was straight into a fellow Hufflepuff.

"I'm so sorry," Anne gasped “Are you alright?”
